A simulation approach for Arc Flow Plasma plant in energy production from organic matrix waste fluid
Modelling a (MTO) Flow Shop in M-2-M production logic by System Dynamic matrix approach
The following paper proposes a framework based on a System Dynamics matrix approach with the aim to support the reengineering decision process of a plant department, operating in Make-To-Order context, and characterized by a bottleneck process. The approach develops a simulation model able to reproduces production process, plant resources, items orders and, most of all, the stochastic behaviour of the entire system, considering furthermore the variables retroactions through the evolution of a matrix flow. The purpose consists in optimizing the mix of possible solutions between the strengthening of plant workstation (hardware reengineering) or the purchase of semi-finished parts (process reengineering). The framework has been tested in an Italian factory operating in sheet metal industry and has been completed by an economic evaluation
A simulation model for dichotomous approach between governance and operations management: Case study of financial sector
Analisi dei rischi di esercizio ed adeguamento alle Direttive ATEX. Verifica del rischio residuo-caso di studio: un impianto per la distillazione di etanolo
Banking operations and strategic marketing plans: a causal loop based model for finance sector
The following paper is focused on the operating conditions for the implementation of tertiary sector marketing planning. This issue, related to the instruments and techniques from which it stems, constitutes the essential tool to compete in western markets of services. The suggested approach is oriented to design a technical model determined by conditions set selected. We used four groups of performance indicators, able to define the business strategic position of company. Afterwards using the system dynamics criteria we suggest a CLD graph which represents the interactions among the several factors that influence the company behavior related to its strategy evolution. The model is characterized for the financial market, so that the performance indicator are assessed for a bank. In the case of study we analyze a specific Bank operating in southern of Italy and we define the new marketing strategy starting from its current state and market objects through the proposed model
Innovation in hospitals: An e-procurement model in pharmacy operations in day surgery
The relationship between pharmaceutical companies and hospitals is one of the most important key factors in healthcare system. Hospitals are complex organizational structures that can be improved in order to reduce wastes from both the economic point of view and the resources employed. This leads to a progressive modification of their commercial and technological relationships with pharmaceutical companies. This paper analyses the introduction of e-collaboration models for the supply relationship between hospitals and pharmaceutical companies and presents a new and more streamlined materials purchase procedure based on e-commerce. In order to verify the real benefits and analyze the peculiarities of this approach a simulation model using the System Dynamics has been implemented
Development and implementation of an algorithm for preventive machine maintenance
This paper aims to develop a maintenance optimization model to maintain a high level of efficiency
and reliability of the machinery. The methodological approach is based on preventive maintenance
through the partial or total replacement of critical components. Although an intermediate intervention
control, the focus is on a particular machine that has stopped several times, reducing its operational
availability and resulting in a high cost of non-production. This study uses a Weibull model to analyze
and optimize the correct maintenance process of the machinery considered. The failure data are then
analyzed and scheduled. The final purpose is to standardize the operators' intervention procedures to
reduce the time for the same interventions
Project Management implementation for healthcare activities organization
In recent decades the following changes of the health care system characterized by the introduction of new technologies in the field of molecular biology and information, the transformation of society with the change the doctor-patient relationship, and finally the evolution of health care with the waves no longer seen as a resource and as an expense. The healthcare organization has the need to improve the quality of health services provided through the implementation of the innovation process, which affects both the design of new medical processes that update the current ones. The use of Project Management methodology allows to make choices according to scientific criteria, resulting in improved benefits consistent with available resources. The right of the citizen is guaranteed according to the available financial resources and depends critically on the ability to organize, manage and monitor effective and efficient allocation of biomedical systems. The optimal allocation of biomedical facilities using the Project Management principles will consider the following steps: formulated the general aim is to optimally allocate the system of interest, then to address to the general objectives or to assess the evidence regarding the safety parameters, the ethical, legal and social, technical and technological parameters, organizational aspects, the economic parameters. It is necessary to assign a value from 1 to 10, evaluating the adequacy of each parameter in the considered case. In this way the parameters identified are "listed" in order to determine the suitability to a particular case in terms of security parameters, ethical, legal, social, economical organized, technical and technological. The adequacy of the above parameters following the installation of the system evaluated in otherwise you may decide to repeat the assessment for another area, or choose another type of equipment
A simulation approach for agile production logic implementation in a hospital emergency unit
The hospitals offer sweeping views of management ideas, as focus internally complex organizational structures, which can be improved in order to reduce waste and increase the effectiveness of the services provided. An analysis of the hospital system there are two characteristics: the demand variability and the variability of lead time. As a policy of innovative management of the health system is referred to Lean even though the characteristics identified do not allow you to get the continuous flow that is the strategic goal of Lean obtainable only with demand leveling and production lead time certain and repeatable. A management system that seems to contemplate these characteristics is the Agile Manufacturing applied to service sector, even though it has never been declined in health. Thus arises the need to simulate both policies so as to determine which best represents the health facilities
