Trends of Tourist Demand in Romania. Positioning of Rural Tourists Among the Tourist Preferences
Rural tourism in Romania has significant potential, acknowledged both internally and internationally. Keeping
up old customs in villages, including in regard to the daily life, existence of remarkably beautiful landscapes, as
well as the promoting in the foreign press, create the premises required for the take-off of the activities specific
to the rural area among the domestic tourists.
Considering the resources at the disposal of the Romanian villages and assuming that modern people are more
and more interested in returning to nature, for disconnecting from the job-related stress, the author wanted to
find out what is the position of this type of tourism among the tourist demand. After carrying out an administered
questionnaire-based quantitative survey, the results showed that the preferences concerning the place of
spending the holiday are the seaside and the mountains, while the rural areas are considered as the main option
in 2% of the cases. However, the tourist profile that arises from the research shows that there is a base from
which the rural tourism can progress in the medium and short-term preferences, as the respondents reveal a
significant preference over the elements of the rural tourist offer
"Encystation": Containment and Control in Israeli Ideology and Practice
The radical closure of Gaza serves here as an extreme example of a process of
isolation and immiseration of national enemies that is deeply rooted in Israeli
ideology and practices of state formation. I use encystation to reveal the dual
meaning of the term—that of radical isolation of diseased elements and that of
protecting a fetus within a womb—and to show how the two meanings connect
with respective Israeli policies toward Palestinians and Jews. I suggest in closing
that the Oslo Accords have put in place mechanisms for the future imposition
on West Bank Palestinians of the same containment currently afflicting Gaz
ERP inside Large Organizations
Many large companies in Romania are still functioning without an ERP system. Instead they are using traditional application systems built around the strong boundaries of specific functions: finance, selling, HR, production. An ERP will offer lots of advantages among which the integration of functionalities and support for top management decisions. Although the total cost of ownership is not small and there are some risks when implementing an ERP inside large and very large organizations, having such a system is mandatory. Choosing the right product and vendor and using a correct risk management strategy, will ensure a successful implementation.Enterprise Functions, ERP Functionalities, Process Lines and Solutions, Cost Implementation, Total Cost of Ownership, Risk Management, Active Global Support, ERP Advantages, Success Factors, Return of Investment

A Grid Architecture for Manufacturing Database System
Before the Enterprise Resource Planning concepts business functions within enterprises were supported by small and isolated applications, most of them developed internally. Yet today ERP platforms are not by themselves the answer to all organizations needs especially in times of differentiated and diversified demands among end customers. ERP platforms were integrated with specialized systems for the management of clients, Customer Relationship Management and vendors, Supplier Relationship Management. They were integrated with Manufacturing Execution Systems for better planning and control of production lines. In order to offer real time, efficient answers to the management level, ERP systems were integrated with Business Intelligence systems. This paper analyses the advantages of grid computing at this level of integration, communication and interoperability between complex specialized informatics systems with a focus on the system architecture and data base systems
Ways of increasing the visibility of the Romanian rural tourism
Romania has a remarkable natural heritage, with landscapes that are unique in the world and with villages still preserving the habits and traditions unaltered. Country’s potential for the practising the rural tourism is high, with fair chances of transforming villages that are less visible at the international level into actual emblematic destinations. As the urban pollution and organisational stress rise, the vacations in the rural area may be a plausible way of reinvigorating the spirit. However, the lack of visibility of the Romanian destinations requires that new promoting methods be identified.
By the quality analysis carried out by the author in this article, new ways to increase the Romanian tourism visibility and to attract new tourists are argued. Aspects such as promotion by art, by thematic museums, with the help of opinion makers or by means of popular literature pieces have been considered. Thus, the potential methods of promoting the authentic Romanian village have been identified, assuming that each reference in the foreign press, cinema or other communication channel must be identified and exploited for the benefit of the Romanian tourism
The Management of Manufacturing-Oriented Informatics Systems Using Efficient and Flexible Architectures
Industry and in particular the manufacturing-oriented sector has always been researched and innovated as a result of technological progress, diversification and differentiation among consumers' demands. A company that provides to its customers products matching perfectly their demands at competitive prices has a great advantage over its competitors. Manufacturing-oriented information systems are becoming more flexible and configurable and they require integration with the entire organization. This can be done using efficient software architectures that will allow the coexistence between commercial solutions and open source components while sharing computing resources organized in grid infrastructures and under the governance of powerful management tools.Manufacturing-Oriented Informatics Systems, Open Source, Software Architectures, Grid Computing, Web-Based Management Systems
