Alburnoides bipunctatus (Bloch, 1782) Remarks. This species was identified from the Weser River near Minden, Germany. It is distributed in Europe and western Asia. Therefore, Afghanistan is not included in the natural distribution range of the species. Many of the newly identified species have been misidentified as Alburnoides bipunctatus, such as Alburnoides holciki (Coad & Bogutskaya 2012). Previous reports of this taxon were probably based on Alburnoides holciki.Published as part of Çiçek, Erdoğan, Fricke, Ronald, Eagderi, Soheil, Sungur, Sevil, Coad, Brian W & Hamdard, Mohammad Hamid, 2023, Fishes of Afghanistan; a revised and updated annotated checklist, pp. 1-69 in Zootaxa 5305 (1) on page 53, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.5305.1.1, http://zenodo.org/record/804856
