INFO-POW: Assessment of the channels of information and their use in the posting of workers. Country report Italy.
This country report provides an assessment of the channels of information and their use in the posting of workers in the construction industry in Italy. It fills a gap in understanding how transnational posting and receiving companies find and use information and how that affects their compliance with posting rules and the protection of labour and social standards. The empirical data for the report were collected between December 2022 to August 2023 through mixed methodologies that comprise: a mapping of information channels provided by public and private entities; interviews with representatives of public authorities, social partners and private service providers that are responsible for the provision of information on posting; and the results of a survey of posting and receiving companies based in Italy

Work-Based Learning Policies and Numbers: the Italian Case in a Broad context
There has been a worldwide upsurge in all forms of work-based learning since the 2007-8 crisis outbreak. Governments and international bodies consider them as solutions to youth unemployment and precarity. However, the push towards these schemes cannot be considered a novelty. The purpose of this paper is to trace back the origins of contemporary policies in this field by moving from the United States to Europe, to better dwell on the Italian context. This overview – despite the lack of data – also aims at assessing work-based learning impact on employability and precarity, i.e. their primary goals. «Work-based learning» de-notes all forms of learning that take place in a real work environment, meaning that it can be considered a macro-category, or, from a Weberian perspective, an ideal-type. It is precisely in this sense that it has been adopted here

Access to information on the posting of workers: Company practices and challenges in the case of Italy.
This chapter refers to the empirical data collected between December 2022 and August 2023 as part of the INFO-POW project. Mixed methodologies were used in the collection process, including the mapping of 38 online and
offline information channels provided by public and private entities; semi-structured expert interviews with eight representatives from the public authorities, social partners, and private service providers that furnish information on posting; and the survey results of nine responding posting and user undertakings based in Italy.Following the introduction, the chapter first discusses the key characteristics of the information channels available in Italy. Then, it identifies how sending and receiving companies use information channels and the main challenges, barriers, and needs related to accessing information on posting. Finally, it focuses on the challenges information providers face and their efforts to improve access to information
