    Effect of personal mobility management in mobile communication networks

    Personal mobility (PM) is one of the key issues in realizing personal communications service (PCS) in emerging third-generation mobile communication networks such as International Mobile Telecommunication 2000 (IMT-2000). It can be realized through universal personal,telecommunication (UPT) service. Two PM management schemes are proposed to manage PM information related to UPT users for incoming call (incall) registration/deregistration, incall registration reset by a mobile terminal (MT) owner, And incall delivery to UPT users in mobile communication networks based on the location information managed by the user's home network. The relative cost, i.e., the ratio of cost per unit time for supporting both terminal mobility (TM) and PM management to that of TM management, is derived, and the effect of PM management is analyzed from the aspects of update or query cost, Signaling delivery cost, and processing cost. These results can be utilized in the implementation of PM management in IMT-2000.

    Adaptive algorithm for mobile terminal power on/off state management

    Two mobile terminal (MT) power on/off state management schemes are introduced based on the level of location registers (LRs) for managing the state information of MTs. The performance of the two MT power on/off state management schemes is compared based on the expected on/off duration and the expected number of incoming call arrivals between two consecutive detach and attach requests (call-to-transition ratio (CTR)). An adaptive algorithm is proposed here that incorporates both schemes for each mobile user. The results show that as the CTR value of a mobile user varies, the proposed algorithm adaptively selects an appropriate scheme in real time. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved

The first level of the shopping complex comprised of a coffee shop and several bank branches while the third level is dedicated to the Golden Crown Restaurant and nightclubs.The myriad of goods ranging from food to fashion, of which most are imported from China (really was China already open?) were sold at affordable prices in the air-conditioned departmental storeTan Aik Leng, a long-time resident, recalled, “The Tah Chung Emporium was the first air -conditioned emporium in a housing estate. The emporium sold many kinds of merchandise which had never seen before.     In universal personal telecommunication (UPT) environments, CPT networks retain information related to incall/outcall registration in UPT user service profiles in order to provide incoming UPT calls for UPT users in any location who have registered at a terminal. As UPT networks support incall registration, terminal users can be different from terminal owners, and several UPT users can register fur incoming calls on a single terminal. Therefore, appropriate third-party protection procedures are needed to protect the rights of terminal owners. A terminal profile database can be used to store information regarding terminal states and incall UPT users registered on a terminal in order to enable third-party protection procedures. In order to manage information within both the terminal profile and the service profile, we propose a request-based scheme For incall registration/deregistration of UPT users and incall registration resets of terminal owners.
