Torque Harmonic Minimization in PM Synchronous Motor with Back EMF Estimation
Predictive current control in the synchronous reference frame with back EMF estimation using previous voltages and currents is presented. To reduce the torque harmonics produced by the harmonics in the air gap flux by an online set-up, the d-axis and q-axis currents are compensated. The compensated harmonic currents are derived by using the estimated flux linkage harmonics which are derived from the estimated back EMFs. The effectiveness of the proposed control scheme is compared to the conventional one through the simulation and experiments

Burst-by-burst Adaptive Joint-Detection CDMA/H.26L Based Wireless Video Telephony using TTCM and LDPC Codes
A low bit-rate video coding techniques using the H.26L standard codec for robust transmission in mobile multimedia environments are presented. For the sake of achieving error resilience, the source codec has to make provisions for error detection, resynchronization and error concealment. Thus a packetization technique invoking adaptive bit-rate control was used in conjunction with the various modulation scheme employed. In this contribution, we propose a Burst-by-Burst Adaptive Coded Modulation-Aided Joint Detection-Based CDMA (ACM-JD-CDMA) scheme for wireless video telephony and characterise its performance when communicating over the UTRA wideband vehicular fading channels. The coded modulation schemes invoked in our fixed modulation mode based systems are Low Density Parity Check code based Block Coded Modulation (LDPC-BCM) and Turbo Trellis Coded Modulation (TTCM). The performance of LDPC-BCM was evaluated and compared to that of TTCM in the context of the ACM-JD-CDMA system using a practical modem mode switching regime. Both schemes exhibited a similar transmission integrity, although the LDPC arrangement is capable of achieving this at a lower complexity
Consideration of Interference Correlation Properties in a JD-CDMA Mobile Radio System with Coherent Receiver Antenna Diversity
In code division multiple access (CDMA) mobile radio systems, both intersymbol interference and multiple access interference arise which can be combatted by using Joint Detection (JD) techniques, to reduce the degradation in performance resulting from time variance, coherent receiver antenna diversity (CRAD) can be used. The application of JD techniques offers the possibility to exploit the knowledge of noise covariances at the receiver. If only intercell (cochannel) interference is considered, the noise covariances in the uplink receiver of a multiple receiver antenna CDMA mobile radio system depend mainly on the directions of arrival (DOAs) of the interfering signals and the receiver antenna placement. Therefore, if the interferer DOAs are known at the base station, these covariances could be estimated. In this thesis, a realistic model of the uplink of a JD CDMA mobile radio system with CRAD is described in which the above mentioned interference cancelling method is used. Simulation results according to this model are given and evaluated.Applied SciencesElectrical EngineeringTelecommunications and Traffic Control Systems Grou
