    Technology embeddedness in HCI textiles has great potential for enabling novel interactions and enriched experiences, but unless carefully designed, could inadvertently worsen HCI’s sustainability problem. In an attempt to bridge sustainable debates and practical material-driven scholarship in HCI, we propose Multimorphic Textile-forms (MMTF), as a design approach developed through a lens of multiplicity and extended life cycles, that facilitate change in both design/production and use-time via the simultaneous thinking of the qualities and behaviour of material and form. We provide a number of cases, textile-form methods and vocabulary to enable exploration in this emerging design space. MMTF grants insights into textiles as complex material systems whose behaviour can be tuned across material, interaction and ecological scales for conformal, seamless, and sustainable outcomes

    Airport has been labelled as a non-place by the French anthropologist Marc Augé, with its place as a limbo filled with a mass of isolated individuals which response to non-human mediations such as boarding screens and signages. Consider together with the automatic trend of mobility as well as the social health trend of non-real life conversations thanks to technology, there is a diminishing of human element within Schiphol. Nevertheless, a lack of cultural amenity on the landside for non-travellers. Consider together with the growth of Airport city, a theatre is proposed to be installed for not only landside users but also the potential of a human element added for travellers who spend excessive time idling.The Schiphol Theatre locates at the centre of Schipholterminal, which lies on one of the main axis within atransitional cityscape. It contains a multicharacter essencewith functioning as a public lounge, a public space, as well as an event space for not only classical performaces, but also public entertainments.     This report is a discussion of the 1984 report 'An automatic proof procedure for several geometries' by Th. Bruyn and H.L. Claasen, inspired by a personal desire to understand the work of Th. Bruyn. See: http://resolver.tudelft.nl/uuid:b768c6ce-f625-4236-9b0b-32a47fab143e Bruyn and Claasen prove that certain true propositions of the theory of intersections within the two-dimensional projective geometry over the real numbers can be formulated by use of figures. It is proven that figures obtained by manipulating these figures will also correspond to propositions. The method to do so proves that the obtained propositions are a direct consequence of the original propositions and are therefore proven to be true. One of their main results is to use the theorem of Pappus to generate the theorem of Desargues, thereby proving that Desargues follows from Pappus (something that is well known in projective geometry). This report aims to give a comprehensive explanation of their method as well as a detailed demonstration of their procedure. It is a summary of their work with added explanations and examples

    Positive Engagement with Communities through Taiji: Case Study of a One Day Experiential Workshop

    Whilst the physical health benefits of taiji have been reported, there is limited information on the influences of taiji on mental health. This paper reports on a collaborative one day experiential workshop between a university, a local martial arts academy and Mental Health in Higher Education (MHHE). The purpose of the day was to explore the impact of taiji on people’s mental health and well-being. The workshop used a multi method approach to explore the potential benefits of taiji. Participants, who were service users and various professionals, were introduced to the philosophies behind taiji and gained an understanding of the concept of qi. This was followed by participants being guided through a practical taiji session to demonstrate how qi can be activated. The remainder of the day was used to deconstruct poetry and narratives to trigger discussions on the range of benefits of taiji. Those participating acknowledged the social benefits of belonging to a community of taiji practitioners. Two pragmatic issues were also highlighted: cultural background being an important influence regarding the understanding and practice of taiji; and that difficulties in gaining access to reputable and qualified teachers can act as a barrier to integrating taiji within educational programmes
