    La satira grottesca nelle tre ‘povesti’ di Michail Bulgakov: la tragica carnevalizzazione della Russia degli anni Venti

    At the end of 1921 Mikhail Bulgakov, a young doctor from Kiev with literary expectations, finally moved to Moscow. The capital of the new Soviet world is entering into the Nep’s years, featured by the figure of a new social climber, the nepman. Moscow and the entire Russia are changing, by staging a kind of huge Carnival of which Bulgakov chooses to portrait its contradictory and paradoxal nature throughout the instruments of a grotesque satire. The writer intends to represent the relativity and absurdity of situations that cross the threshold of reality to penetrate the world of paradox and absurd, where mistaken identities, amazing discoveries and unlikely experiments may be read as dethronizations of inauthentic heroes, unmasking of false myths, tragi-comic teasing of the authoritarian word. This paper analyses three examples of the bulgakovian satire in the ‘povesti’ D’javoliada,  Rokovye jajca e Sobač’e serdce and, with the aid of Bachtin’s interpretations, it suggests a new reading of the three writings and an insight into the reasons for the choice of the satirical genre in the whole literary work of the writer

    The Screenplay of Memory and Heart: Tonino Guerra’s La Pioggia Tiepida. A Journey from Russia to Italy.

    The article is dedicated to Tonino Guerra on his death date anniversary. Guerra’s creative work as a screenwriter and as a poet made him famous for the particular poetic representation of old and modern existential themes able to connect worlds apparently distant in time and space. In the novel «La pioggia tiepida» (The tepid rain) this peculiar attitude of Guerra becomes evident in his personal way of writing that makes the novel a confession of the writer’s thoughts about life to the point of breaking up the conventions of narrative fiction. The narration unfolds on two levels, as if the plot followed a double track. Along the first track there is the lyrical description of a journey between Leningrad and Georgia; along the second one the magical tepid Caucasian rain causes a writer’s vision that becomes wider and wider until it identifies with the figure of a Russian General who fought against Napoleon. The visionary story of this General is narrated in the novel with plenty of direct references to Russian history and literature. All along his Georgian journey the writer meets the ghosts of some of the main Russian poets and writers like Pushkin, Lermontov and Mayakovski and the journey through space slowly becomes a journey through time, a quest for a mythical past represented by the ancient mysterious wooden cathedrals where the monk Nikolayev, former general Rosati, lived. By Retracing Guerra’s real and imaginary travels through Russia and Georgia, following the enchanted strength of the tepid rain, this article intends to focus on the lyrical reading of the world that the poet Tonino Guerra showed even in his prose, thus associating his poetic vision of the world to that of poets like Mandelstam and Pasternak

    From the twenties of the 20th century on, Soviet Union became one of the favourite destinations of many Italian writers who, during their visits, were charged to interpret and present the new Soviet world to the Italian reader by sending articles to newspapers and magazines, most of which were afterwards published as monographs. The research aims to investigate the reasons that pushed so many intellectuals to visit Russia during the Soviet period and their understanding of such a different reality. Through the references to the historical and political ideologies that might influence the writers’ interpretations of the Russian world, the reconstruction of the travel conditions and the different individual approaches to the Soviet life, the study intends to focus on the point of view of the Italian intellectuals on the USSR and the particular value the reports had in the literary life of each writer and for all the Italian intellectual community. The authors’ monographs and articles collected in the final database, useful for the overall reconstruction of the phenomenon, and the proposal of two unknown documents in the appendix as examples of each writer peculiar narration of Russia, mean to be interesting sources for the thematic research

    Il contributo presenta una proposta didattica per l’inserimento dell’Evgenij Onegin nei programmi della scuola italiana a partire dallo studio del ritmo del testo. La complessità del capolavoro di Puškin potrebbe, paradossalmente, costituire una doppia opportunità per il docente e lo studente per lavorare sulla grande poesia russa e apprezzare lo straordinario e multiforme carattere dell’opera. Alcuni opportuni riferimenti al sistema metrico della poesia italiana aiuteranno lo studente nel percorso di un’esperienza immersiva e di godimento estetico fondata sull’ascolto, la lettura e la comprensione di alcuni estratti non adattati del testo per scoprirne il ritmo coinvolgente e vorticoso dell’Onegin, un aspetto del testo imprescindibile per la costruzione della dimensione ritmica del significato
