Chen and He (in Chen et al., 2002) erroneously placed this species in Prosceles Uvarov, 1940 [A junior synonym of Abrosoma Redtenbacher, 1906 placed in family Aschiphasmatidae Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1893]. Genus Dianphasma Chen & He, 1997 Type-species. Dianphasma microptera Chen & He, 1997a: 159, by original designation. Description. Medium-sized. Body cylindrical, moderately tapering posteriorly, covered with small and sparse granules, female distinctly larger and more robust than male. Head unarmed, dorsoventrally flattened. Thorax slender with sparse granules. Abdomen cylindrical, tapering posteriorly, wrinkled and covered with sparse granules. Seventh sternum lacking noticeable praeopercular organ in female. Legs slender and long; unarmed, densely covered with long bristles. Profemora incurved basally, shorter than mesonotum. Mesofemora slimmer than profemora and metafemora. Medioventral carina of all femora elevated. Tegmina and alae indistinct and scalelike. Egg capsule oblong. Micropylar plate oval. Distribution. China (Guangxi, Guizhou and Yunnan). Notes. Hennemann et al. (2008a) considered Dianphasma Chen & He, 1997 to be a synonym of Parasosibia Redtenbacher, 1908 and Ho (2013a) reinstated it as a valid genus. Currently, Dianphasma is only known from China and four species are recognised. Both sexes of D. cheni Ho, 2013 are recognised while other three species are only known from female specimens.
