Stegana (Steganina) pianmaensis sp. nov. (Figs 45–50) Diagnosis. This species is related to S. danbaensis sp. nov. in the male terminalia, but in this species: 10 th sternite slightly protruded apicolaterally (Fig. 47); aedeagus lacking serrated, minute processes on dorsal surfaces (Fig. 49). Description. Male terminalia: Epandrium roundly protruded ventrally (Fig. 45). Cercus lacking pubescence (Fig. 45). Surstylus with 8 prensisetae submedially (Fig. 46). Tenth sternite broadened, slightly protruded apico- and basolaterally (Fig. 47). Paramere with ca. 5, 6 sensilla (Figs 48, 49). Aedeagus with globular projections bearing finely serrated processes basally (Figs 48, 49), nearly heart-shaped on opening in ventral view, protruded apically (Fig. 48). Gonopods broadly round apically, not protruded dorsomedially (Fig. 50). Measurements. Stegana (Steganina) psilolobosa sp. nov. (Figs 19–24) Specimens examined. Holotype ɗ (SCAU, No. 120292): CHINA – labeled “Shennongjia, Hubei, 1700 m, 1.viii. 2005, on tree trunk, H.W. Chen”. Etymology. A combination of the Greek words “psilos + lobos”, referring to the medial flaps of hypandrium lacking pubescence. Diagnosis. Gonopods distinctly widely protruded dorso-medially (Fig. 24); aedeagus with 1 pair of expanded lobe-like process ventrobasally (Figs. 22, 23). Description. Some characters commonly seen in S. melanostoma sp. nov. are not referred to in the following description. Male: First flagellomere yellow on basal half, black on distal half. Clypeus almost yellow. Palpus entirely yellow. Legs white to yellowish, dark brown on fore knees, distal half of mid femur and basal half of mid tibia, distal 1 / 3 of hind femur and basal 1 / 3 of hind tibia. Fore femur with 4 long suberect setae on distal part of ventral surface. Male terminalia: Epandrium with ca. 27 setae on dorsal to posterolateral portion per side (Fig. 19). Tenth sternite protruded posteromedially, with 1 small projection ventrally (Fig. 21). Paramere with ca. 3 setulae (Figs. 22, 23). Measurements. BL = 2.74 mm; ThL = 1.55 mm; WL = 2.44 mm; WW = 0.92 mm. PHORTICA FLOCCIPES CAO & CHEN SP. NOV. (FIGS 1, 8, 13–15) Material examined: Holotype male, CHINA: Dajiuhu, Shennongjia, Hubei, 3.viii.2005, H. W. Chen (SCAU, No. 120020). Paratypes: CHINA: four males, three females, same data as holotype except 3–5.viii.2005, H. Z. Cao, H. W. Chen, and M. F. Xu (one male and one female in KIZ; the rest in SCAU, Nos 120021–25); two males, two females, Miyaluo, Lixian, Sichuan, 8–10.ix.2005, M. F. Xu and H. L. Cao (SCAU, Nos 120026–29). Description: Male and female. Head: frons black, with grey pollinosity. Thorax: scutum almost black, with grey pollinose pattern. Scutellum black, with a pair of yellow patches submedially. Legs: hind tibiae with three black rings, three irregular rows of suberect setae on ventral surface, which are slightly shorter than tibia width (Fig. 2A), apically with one long curved seta (Fig. 2B). All fourth and fifth tarsomeres black, the rest grey-yellow. Male terminalia: cercus with two strong setae (Fig. 14). Surstylus medially protrudent, with two rows of about seven to eight prensisetae, apically round, with four prensisetae (Fig. 14). Paramere submedially with three small processes, two of them with sensillum, apically with one sensillum; basal process with fine sawteeth (Fig. 15). <i>Niwaella brevipinna</i> Chen & Chen, sp. nov. (Figs 18–22) <p> <i>Cobitis laterimaculata</i> Nakajima <i>et al.</i> 2013 (nec. Yang & Zheng, 1984): 331 (from the East Tiaoxi River, Fig. 7h).</p> <p>Holotype. HU 1608312, 55.5 mm SL, the Dongshaoxi River (a tributary of the Shaoxi River), Lin'an (30°24′N, 119°68′E), Zhejiang, China, April 2016, collected from the Lin'an farm product market by Yongxia Chen.</p> <p>Paratypes. HU 1608208, 1608213, 1608215, 1608305–7, 1608299–301, 1608303, 10 ex., 38.9–58.0 mm SL, same data as holotype.</p> <p> Diagnosis. The new species is distinguishable from its congeners by the following characteristics: color pattern consisting of narrow brown vertical bars discontinuous along dorsal upper blotches; a row of 15–18 vertical stripes below the lateral midline (Figs 18, 22); lower lip wrapped the mandible, with moderately developed mental lobes (Fig. 19); suborbital spine thick and curved, with short processus latero-caudalis, less than one-fifth of processus medio-caudalis (Fig. 20); subdorsal scales small and oval, with a large focal area, 24–29 radial grooves, and 9–12 supplementary ones (Fig. 21). It is similar to <i>N. laterimaculata</i> in color pattern, but differs from it in the lower lip wrapped the mandible, with developed mental lobes (vs. lower lip and mandible separated, with undeveloped mental lobes); 4 branched rays in anal fin (vs. 5); 6 branched rays in dorsal fin (Fig. 22) (vs. 7 (Fig. 26)); 5 branched rays in ventral fin (Fig. 22) (vs. 6); suborbital spine thick, with long processus latero-caudalis, less than one-fifth of processus medio-caudalis (vs. suborbital spine slender, with short processus latero-caudalis, less than one-seventh of processus medio-caudalis); caudal peduncle long, length of caudal peduncle 6.7–8.0 (mean 7.5) in SL (vs. caudal peduncle short, length of caudal peduncle 7.3–10.7 (mean 8.9) in SL).</p> <p>Description (Figs 18–22, Table 2). D. III–6; A. III–4; V. I–5; P. I–6; C. IV–14–15–IV. Body elongate, compressed. Head small. Snout bluntly rounded. Preorbital part of head shorter than postorbital part of head. Mouth small, inferior, with three pairs of short barbels. Length of maxillo-mandibular barbels equal to diameter of eye. Lips fleshy with numerous transversal wrinkles on the surface. Lower lip wrapped the mandible, with moderately developed mental lobes (Fig. 19). Suborbital spine thick and curved, with short processus latero-caudalis, less than one-fifth of processus medio-caudalis (Fig. 20). Subdorsal scales small and oval, with a large focal area, 24–29 radial grooves, and 9–12 supplementary ones (Fig. 21).</p> <p>Dorsal fin short, inserted the midway between the posterior margin of eye and the base of the caudal fin, length shorter than that of head. Length of the dorsal fin 6.8–7.0 (mean 7.4) in SL. Pectoral fins short, length of the pectoral fin 9.5–11.7 (mean 10.6) in SL. Ventral fins approximately at the same level as the second branched dorsal-fin ray. Anal fin located in far behind dorsal extremity and not reach the caudal fin. Anal orifice close to the anal fin. Caudal fin emarginated tip. Adipose crests developed. Lateral line short, not exceeding length of the pectorals.</p> <p>Pigmentation pattern. Head sprinkled with many black spots, a black stripe extended from the insertion of the rostral barbels through the eye to the occiput. On the dorsum, an inconspicuous black stripe with a surface pigment containing 17– 24 rectangular blotches, among which 8–13 oval or rectangular blotches present from the occiput to the base of the dorsal fin, 2 on the dorsal fin, and 7–9 behind the dorsal fin, gaps between the rectangular blotches narrower than their widths. A row of 15–18 vertical stripes below the lateral midline, with the stripe being for narrower than their interspaces; many small vertical bars with irregular speckles present on the dorsolateral surface. One conspicuous, small, oblique rectangular spot present on the upper half of the caudal fin base, the upper spot smaller than the diameter of the eye. Three or four rows of brownish dots present on the dorsal and caudal fins.</p> <p>Sexual dimorphism. Not obvious in external morphology.</p> <p>Distribution. This new species occurs in the Dongshaoxi River (a tributary of the Shaoxi River) in Zhejiang Province in east China (Fig. 1).</p> <p> Remarks. Two new species, <i>N. fimbriata</i> Chen & Chen, <b>sp. nov.</b> and <i>N. brevipinna</i> Chen & Chen, <b>sp. nov.</b> are both living in the Dongshaoxi River. Two collection trips were organized during March to April in 2015 and 2016 to obtain more samples. However, these two species were collected in different year, respectively. It is not clear whether they are sympatric species. Maybe they are spatially separated in the areas of the Dongshaoxi River. Additionally, Nakajima <i>et al.</i> (2013) wrongly recorded this species as <i>Cobitis laterimaculata</i> in the Dongshaoxi River.</p> <p> Etymology. The new species is similar to <i>N. nigrolinea</i> Chen & Chen, <b>sp. nov.</b> in color pattern, but differs by having 19–20 large, conspicuous blotches on the dorsum (vs. 19–22 small, inconspicuous blotches); suborbital spine straight, with short processus latero-caudalis, less than one-fifth of processus medio-caudalis (vs. suborbital spine curved, with long processus latero-caudalis, less than one-third of processus medio-caudalis); caudal peduncle short, length of caudal peduncle 6.5–7.5 (mean 7.0) in SL (vs. caudal peduncle long, length of caudal peduncle 5.8–6.8 (mean 6.2) in SL); body sturdy, depth 8.3–8.5 (mean 8.4) in SL (vs. slender, depth 9.4–10.6 (mean 9.8) in SL); subdorsal scales with a small focal area (vs. a large focal area).</p> <p>Description (Figs 8–11, Table 2). Lower lip and mandible separated, with undeveloped mental lobes (Fig. 9). Suborbital spine thick and straight, with short processus latero-caudalis, less than one-fifth of processus medio-caudalis (Fig. 10). Subdorsal scales small and oval, with a slightly small focal area, 16–19 radial grooves, and 3–5 supplementary ones (Fig. 11).</p> <p>Dorsal fin inserted the midway between the eye and the base of the caudal fin. Ventral fins short, approximately at the same level as the second branched dorsal-fin ray. Anal fin located in far behind dorsal extremity and not reach the caudal fin. Anal orifice close to the anal fin. Caudal fin emarginated tip. Adipose crests developed. Lateral line short, not exceeding length of the pectorals.</p> <p>Pigmentation pattern. Head sprinkled with many black spots, a black stripe extended from the insertion of the rostral barbels through the eye to the occiput. On the dorsum, a conspicuous black stripe from the occiput through the dorsal fin to the caudal fin, with a surface pigment containing 19–20 slightly large conspicuous blotches. Short and dense vertical bars on the dorsolateral surface, and a row of 8–10 long, sparse broad vertical stripes below the lateral midline posteriors to the dorsal fin. One conspicuous small half-moon-shaped spot present on the upper half of the caudal fin base; the upper spot smaller than the diameter of the eye. Three rows of brownish dots present on the dorsal and caudal fins.</p> <p>Sexual dimorphism. Not obvious in external morphology.</p> <p>Distribution. This new species occurs in the Dongshaoxi River (a tributary of the Shaoxi River) in Zhejiang Province in east China (Fig. 1).</p> <p> Etymology. Apanteles thoracartus Liu & Chen, sp. n. Figure 10 Description. Female. Body length ca. 2.2 mm, fore wing length ca. 2.6 mm. Head. Less transverse in dorsal view, 1.8 as wide as long (23.4:13.0) and wider than mesosoma (23.4:20.0). Temple shiny, rather constricted posteriorly (Fig. 10 f), with coarse punctures. Face subquadrate, 0.9 as high as wide, relatively dull, heavily punctate, sparsely pubescent (Fig. 10 a), inner margin of eyes subparallel. Ocelli relatively small, distance between fore and a hind ocellus longer than diameter of an ocellus, posterior tangent to the anterior ocellus touching the posterior pair, POL:OD:OOL=3.0:2.0:3.0. Antenna almost as long as body length, penultimate antennomere 2 longer than wide. Mesosoma. Length to breadth and height 34.0:20.0: 22.6. Disc of mesonotum relatively dull, heavily but sparsely and unevenly punctate, interspaces usually larger than diameter of punctures. Scutellar sulcus almost straight, narrow with weak carinae in between. Scutellum highly polished with only trace of punctures. Propodeum relatively shiny, with sparse independent punctures anteriorly, polished except a few short carinae on posterolateral field and around nucha. Mesopleuron highly polished, its anterior half with shallow punctation of even size. Hind femur of normal size. Spines on outer side of hind tibia sparse. Inner spur of hind tibia almost 2 × longer than the outer one, 2 / 5 length of basitarsus, outer spur is 1 / 5 length of basitarsus. Hind basitarsus as long as tarsal segments 2–4 combined. Wings. Pterostigma 3.2 × as long as its widest part. Vein 1 -R 1 (metacarp) 1.4 × longer than pterostigma, it is 6.2 × as long as its distance from apex of the marginal cell. Vein r slightly longer than width of pterostigma, vein r nearly as long as (or faintly shorter than) vein 2 -SR, both veins distinctly angled at their meeting, vein 2 -M half of vein 2 -SR. 1 st discal cell nearly 1 / 4 wider than high. Vein cu-a slightly curved. Vannal lobe beyond its widest part straight and without projecting setae. Metasoma. 1.2 × as long as thorax (40.0:34.0). T 1 narrowed towards apex, basal width 2 × hind width, 2 × longer than basal width. Concave at basal 2 / 5, highly shiny, polished, with only six punctures in an arc posteriorly. T 2 triangular, 1.6 × wider than long in the middle. T 3 1.4 × as long as T 2 (7.0:5.0). Tergites after T 1 relatively shiny, smooth. Hypopygium shorter than apex of abdomen. Ovipositor sheath 1.3 × longer than hind tibia (40.0:30.0), relatively thin. Colour. Body black except abdomen reddish yellow (it becomes darker at base and apex of abdomen). Flagellum and ovipositor sheath yellowish brown. Labrum and mandible dark reddish brown. Palpi, tegulae and spurs of tibiae pale yellow. Legs bright reddish yellow, hind coxa reddish brown. The new species can be distinguished from its congeners by possessing the following combination of characteristics: small body size, SL mean 50 mm in males and 60 mm in females; a small jet spot far smaller than the eye diameter on the upper part of the caudal peduncle; 7–8 narrow rows of dark spots on the caudal fin (Figs 8–9, 14–17); males with a slender and finely serrated lamina circularis at the base of the first branched pectoral fin ray (Fig. 10); mental lobes undeveloped, two superficial longitudinal lobes short and bluntly rounded (Fig. 11); suborbital spine straight, with long processus medio-caudalis (Fig. 12). Cobitis brachysoma Chen YX & Chen YF, sp. nov. is similar to C. microcephala in body size and shape of lamina circularis, but differs from it in having long processus medio-caudalis of suborbital spine (vs. short); caudal peduncle short, length of caudal peduncle 7.3–9.2 (mean 8.4) in SL in males and 7.0–9.9 (mean 8.5) in females (vs. caudal peduncle long, length of caudal peduncle 5.9–6.6 (mean 6.3) in SL in males and 5.3–7.2 (mean 6.3) in females); body slender, depth 6.1–6.6 (mean 6.4) in SL in males and 5.5–8.6 (mean 6.8) in females (vs. sturdy, depth 5.8–6.2 (mean 5.9) in SL in males and 5.0–6.5 (mean 5.6) in females). Subdorsal scales small and oval, with a larger focal area, 17–21 radial grooves, and 4–8 supplementary ones (Fig. 13). Dorsal fin long, inserted midway of body; dorsal fin slightly shorter than head length. In males, pectoral fins moderately long, second pectoral fin ray longest (Fig. 15). In females, pectoral fins slightly shorter, third pectoral fin ray longest (Fig. 17). Ventral fins short, small, and approximately at same level as third branched dorsal-fin ray. Anal fin moderately long, located on half of space between ventral and caudal fins and not reach caudal fin. Anal orifice close to anal fin. Caudal fin emarginated tip. Caudal peduncle with ventral adipose crest. Lateral line short, not exceeding length of pectoral fins. Pigmentation pattern. Color pattern characteristic of sexual dimorphism not observed. L 1 consisted of a row of 5–7 rectangular blotches before dorsal fin that became less regular behind head; 2 on dorsal fin and 6–7 behind dorsal fin. L 3 composed of a row of horizontally elongated or rounded blotches and diminished towards end of caudal fin. L 4 composed of a line of minute black dots and diminished towards end of caudal fin. L 5 consisted of a row of 11–12 horizontally elongated or rounded blotches. One small jet spot on upper half of caudal fin base and far smaller than eye diameter. 7–8 narrow rows of dark dots on dorsal and caudal fins. Sexual dimorphism. Males smaller than females with proportionally longer pectoral, ventral and anal fins. In males, second pectoral fin ray thickened and elongated, a slender and finely serrated lamina circularis at base of first branched pectoral fin ray. In females, third pectoral fin ray elongated. Distribution. This new species occurs in the Suijiang River (a tributary of the Pearl River) in Guangning County, the Zengjiang River (a tributary of the Pearl River) in Longmen County, and the Nalongjiang River (a tributary of the Moyangjiang River) in Yangjiang County, all from Guangdong, China (Fig. 1). Etymology. Stegana (Steganina) xishuangbanna sp. nov. (Figs 58–64) Diagnosis. This species is related to S. saigusai from Kumamoto, Japan, but clearly distinguishable from the latter by the aedeagus (in S. saigusai: aedeagal opening nearly triangular in ventral view, with longer and even tentaclelike setae). Description. Male terminalia: Epandrium strongly protruded ventrally (Fig. 58). Cercus lacking pubescence (Fig. 58). Surstylus with 5 prensisetae submedially (Fig. 59). Tenth sternite furcated basally, protruded apically (Fig. 60). Paramere with ca. 5–6 sensilla (Figs 61, 62). Aedeagus lacking minute processes, slightly rhombic on opening in ventral view (Figs 61, 62). Dorsomedial projection of gonopods with serrated, minute processes distally (Figs 63, 64). Measurements.
