This article explored the second novel, The kitchen God´s wife, written by the famous Chinese American writer Amy Tan, published in 1991 and its translation skills of Chinese cultural images showed between the Chinese translation and Spanish translations. By using the original English, Chinese translation and Spanish translation, it compared two different target languages to see if the readers can receive the Chinese cultural images from the original author. The result shows that there are different ways from the translation skills of the translator, depending on different culture and languages; translator with Chinese background understood that the author of the original book depicted Chinese culture. So the Chinese version of this novel is more able to transmit original author´s Chinese Cultural Images.

VMA: Divide-and-Conquer Vectorized Map Annotation System for Large-Scale Driving Scene

High-definition (HD) map serves as the essential infrastructure of autonomous driving. In this work, we build up a systematic vectorized map annotation framework (termed VMA) for efficiently generating HD map of large-scale driving scene. We design a divide-and-conquer annotation scheme to solve the spatial extensibility problem of HD map generation, and abstract map elements with a variety of geometric patterns as unified point sequence representation, which can be extended to most map elements in the driving scene. VMA is highly efficient and extensible, requiring negligible human effort, and flexible in terms of spatial scale and element type. We quantitatively and qualitatively validate the annotation performance on real-world urban and highway scenes, as well as NYC Planimetric Database. VMA can significantly improve map generation efficiency and require little human effort. On average VMA takes 160min for annotating a scene with a range of hundreds of meters, and reduces 52.3% of the human cost, showing great application value. In this paper the characteristics of an ongoing new high-brightness ultra-short pulsed electron beam source in Peking University is reported. The results of the experiment on the DC laser-driven electron gun are shown, together with the preparation of the photo-cathode, which has a much improved performance. Based on these achievements the new electron source will adopt a superconducting accelerating section, thus it is expected to obtain electron beams of 1-2 MeV as a first step, and it is expected to reach a higher energy range in the future.
