Caulopsis crassicornis Piza 1970, comb. nov.
Caulopsis crassicornis (Piza, 1970) comb. nov. Parerechthis crassicornis Piza, 1970 Parerechthis Piza, 1970 syn. nov. of Caulopsis, Redtenbacher, 1891 We revised the female holoptype of this species and it presents diagnostic characters of the genus Caulopsis. Piza compared his new genus to Erechthis, Bolivar 1888, to which belongs a single very differently looking species from Cuba.Published as part of Chamorro-Rengifo, Juliana & Braun, Holger, 2010, The Tettigoniidae (Orthoptera) described by Salvador de Toledo Piza Jr. and deposited in the collection of the University of São Paulo, Escola Superior de Agricultura " Luiz de Queiroz ", Brazil, pp. 41-66 in Zootaxa 2635 on pages 50-51, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.19840
Euceraia femorata Chopard 1918, syn. nov.
Euceraia femorata (Chopard, 1918) Euceraia bos Piza, 1950 Aracuincola laminatus Piza, 1980 syn. nov. Araçuincola, emended to Aracuincola Piza, 1980 syn. nov. of Euceraia Hebard, 1927 The two male type specimens from northern Brazil not only belong to the genus Euceraia, but share the conspicuous black markings on the forelegs with E. femorata described from French Guiana. They also fit Grant’s (1964) redescription of the latter species very well. This author synonymized E. bos under E. femorata, with the same black markings on the forelegs, described by Piza already in 1950, also from northern Brazil.Published as part of Chamorro-Rengifo, Juliana & Braun, Holger, 2010, The Tettigoniidae (Orthoptera) described by Salvador de Toledo Piza Jr. and deposited in the collection of the University of São Paulo, Escola Superior de Agricultura " Luiz de Queiroz ", Brazil, pp. 41-66 in Zootaxa 2635 on page 55, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.19840

Itarissa pedritosilvai Piza 1972, comb. nov.
Itarissa pedritosilvai (Piza, 1972) comb. nov. Paracoelophyllum pedritosilvai Piza, 1972 Paracoelophyllum Piza, 1972 syn. nov. of Itarissa Walker, 1869 The description of Paracoelophyllum mentions only insignificant differences to Coelophyllum Scudder 1875. The latter genus has already been synonymized under Itarissa by Hebard in 1927. Since Piza’s species looks like a typical Itarissa, its original genus will become a synonym as well.Published as part of Chamorro-Rengifo, Juliana & Braun, Holger, 2010, The Tettigoniidae (Orthoptera) described by Salvador de Toledo Piza Jr. and deposited in the collection of the University of São Paulo, Escola Superior de Agricultura " Luiz de Queiroz ", Brazil, pp. 41-66 in Zootaxa 2635 on page 56, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.19840
