    Resíduos sólidos são materiais oriundos de diversas atividades que quando mal gerenciados podem se tornar um problema social, ambiental e econômico. Uma alternativa para diminuir ou até mesmo evitar os problemas relacionados aos resíduos sólidos, é a criação do PGRS (Plano de Gerenciamento de Resíduos Sólidos) que busca além do tratamento e disposição final adequado, a prevenção e minimização da geração de resíduos. Desta forma, o presente trabalho foi desenvolvido em uma empresa comercializadora de insumos agropecuários com o objetivo de auxiliar na criação do PGRS. Após observação do processo produtivo, caracterização dos resíduos gerados, através da composição gravimétrica, e baseando-se nas legislações referentes ao assunto, foram sugeridas medidas para o acondicionamento, coleta, tratamento e disposição final dos resíduos gerados na empresa. Com a composição gravimétrica dos resíduos, pode-se observar que o resíduo orgânico é gerado em maior quantidade e está sendo enviado para o aterro do município, sendo que poderia ser reciclado através da compostagem

    Electronics employed in modern safety-critical systems require severe qualification during the manufacturing process and in the field, to prevent fault effects from manifesting themselves as critical failures during mission operations. Traditional fault models are not sufficient anymore to guarantee the required quality levels for chips utilized in mission-critical applications. The research community and industry have been investigating new test approaches such as device-aware test, cell-aware test, path-delay test, and even test methodologies based on the analysis of manufacturing data to move the scope from OPPM to OPPB. This special session presents four contributions, from academic researchers and industry professionals, to enable better chip quality.     A systematic review of sport-related packages within the R CRAN repository

R is an open-source software in constant development that has gained a lot of popularity within statistical communities and sports analytics. This work presents a systematic review of the available R CRAN sport packages following PRISMA guidelines. We consider all packages active as of 18 February 2021. A total of 81 sport R packages created since 2006 were detected. Of these, 35.9% were authored by an American national, 69.1% include a dataset, 43.2% provide vignettes, and 65.4% have been updated at least once. The sport with the highest representation is basketball (n¿=¿14, 17.3%), followed by soccer (n¿=¿12, 14.8%) and packages related to physical activity (n¿=¿11, 13.6%). There are no sports packages directed solely for the female gender, while 59.3% of packages are focused on professional athletes. Fifty packages (61.7%) are related to the sports performance analysis category, and web scraping (n¿=¿43, 53.1%) was the main functionality in the collected packages.     Consequences of climate-driven biodiversity changes for ecosystem functioning of North European rocky shores

    We review how intertidal biodiversity is responding to globally driven climate change, focusing on long-term data from rocky shores in the British Isles. Physical evidence of warming around the British Isles is presented and, whilst there has been considerable fluctuation, sea surface temperatures are at the highest levels recorded, surpassing previous warm periods (i.e. late 1950s). Examples are given of species that have been advancing or retreating polewards over the last 50 to 100 yr. On rocky shores, the extent of poleward movement is idiosyncratic and dependent upon life history characteristics, dispersal capabilities and habitat requirements. More southern, warm water species have been recorded advancing than northern, cold water species retreating. Models have been developed to predict likely assemblage composition based on future environmental scenarios. We present qualitative and quantitative forecasts to explore the functional consequences of changes in the identity, abundance and species richness of gastropod grazers and foundation species such as barnacles and canopy-forming algae. We forecast that the balance of primary producers and secondary consumers is likely to change along wave exposure gradients matching changes occurring with latitude, thereby shifting the balance between export and import of primary production. Increases in grazer and sessile invertebrate diversity are likely to be accompanied by decreasing primary production by large canopy-forming fucoids. The reasons for such changes are discussed in the context of emerging theory on the relationship between biodiversity and ecosystem functioning.     The Nummulitique: carbonate deposition in a foreland basin setting; Eocene, French alps

    The Eocene Nummulitique (Lutetian to Priabonian) has been studied in the external chains of the French Alps in Haute Savoie and Haute Provence. The Nummulitique unconformably overlies the Mesozoic passive margin succession and represents the onset of sedimentation in the Alpine Foreland Basin which formed due to lithospheric flexure caused by the advance of the Alpine orogeny. The base of the formation is marked by a regional erosional unconformity that developed during subaerial exposure of the Alpine foreland. The Nummulitique may be divided into two informal members: the lower Infranummulitique, a succession of terrigenous carbonates, and the overlying Nummulitic Limestone, a shallow marine carbonate ramp succession. The Infranummulitique is composed of terrigenous carbonates thought to have been derived from the uplifted and eroding foreland which were redeposited in local depocentres due to the topography on the erosion surface. The Infranummulitique can be divided into four facies associations: i) a lenticular conglomerate/nodular marl deposited from ephemeral streams, ii) a sheet conglomerate deposited in a marginal marine fan delta, iii) a Cerithium marl deposited in a brackish water coastal plain/lagoon and iv) a Microcodium wackestone deposited from coastal marine channels. The Nummulitic Limestone is marked by the appearance of the first fully marine foraminifera and a change from terrigenous to autochthonous carbonate sedimentation on a low-energy ramp dominated by larger benthonic foraminifera. The inner-ramp is represented by the deposition of bioclast shoals (packstones and grainstones) dominated by either calcareous red algae, Nummulites or peloids. The middle-ramp is dominated by mud-rich wackestones with a fauna of flat foraminifera, with local winnowed accumulations attributable to storm reworking. The outer ramp and basin are represented by mudstones and marls with a sparse benthos. The Nummulitique shows a marked cyclicity within an overall deepening upwards succession which is interpreted to be the combined effects of tectonic basin subsidence and high-frequency (4th order) eustatic sea-level variations. As the basin developed, the eustatic signature producing the small-scale cyclicity was successively overprinted by accelerating basin subsidence which controlled the stratigraphy of the underfilled foreland basin. Initially, the carbonate productivity is able to keep pace with the relative sea-level changes and the ramp prograded into the basin. The combination of accelerating subsidence rates and nutrient and detrital influx from the approaching orogenic wedge reduced the carbonate productivity and the ramp drowned, leading to pelagic marl deposition. The drowning surface and small-scale cyclicity have been used to correlate between measured sections within each field area, but problems occur in correlating between areas due to the migration of the foreland basin producing a diachronous sedimentary succession, which shows a similar development around the Alps, regardless of the age of the sediments. This diachroneity is evident in the two study areas with similar sediments, cycles and key surfaces developed at different stages of the basin development. The similarity in the successions demonstrates that the early sedimentation in the French Alpine Foreland Basin was controlled primarily by flexural subsidence

    Enhanced electrical and optical properties of room temperature deposited Aluminium doped Zinc Oxide (AZO) thin films by excimer laser annealing

    High quality transparent conductive oxides (TCOs) often require a high thermal budget fabrication process. In this study, Excimer Laser Annealing (ELA) at a wavelength of 248 nm has been explored as a processing mechanism to facilitate low thermal budget fabrication of high quality aluminium doped zinc oxide (AZO) thin films. 180 nm thick AZO films were prepared by radio frequency magnetron sputtering at room temperature on fused silica substrates. The effects of the applied RF power and the sputtering pressure on the outcome of ELA at different laser energy densities and number of pulses have been investigated. AZO films deposited with no intentional heating at 180 W, and at 2 mTorr of 0.2% oxygen in argon were selected as the optimum as-deposited films in this work, with a resistivity of 1×10−3 Ω.cm, and an average visible transmission of 85%. ELA was found to result in noticeably reduced resistivity of 5×10−4 Ω.cm, and enhancing the average visible transmission to 90% when AZO is processed with 5 pulses at 125 mJ/cm2. Therefore, the combination of RF magnetron sputtering and ELA, both low thermal budget and scalable techniques, can provide a viable fabrication route of high quality AZO films for use as transparent electrodes

BELA uses a 50 mJ pulsed Nd:YAG laser operating at 10 Hz with a 20 cm aperture receiver to perform the ranging. The instrument also uses a digital approach for range detection and pulse analysis. The ranging accuracy is expected to be better than 2 metres and ∼20 cm in optimum conditions. With the given, only slightly elliptical, orbit, BELA should return a consistent data set for the most if not all of the planet. The instrument is required to function in an extreme environment with the thermal issues being particularly demanding. Novel solutions have been taken to resolve these issues.     Genomic variations associated with attenuation in Mycobacterium avium subsp paratuberculosis vaccine strains

    BACKGROUND: Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis (MAP) whole cell vaccines have been widely used tools in the control of Johne's disease in animals despite being unable to provide complete protection. Current vaccine strains derive from stocks created many decades ago; however their genotypes, underlying mechanisms and relative degree of their attenuation are largely unknown. RESULTS: Using mouse virulence studies we confirm that MAP vaccine strains 316 F, II and 2e have diverse but clearly attenuated survival and persistence characteristics compared with wild type strains. Using a pan genomic microarray we characterise the genomic variations in a panel of vaccine strains sourced from stocks spanning over 40 years of maintenance. We describe multiple genomic variations specific for individual vaccine stocks in both deletion (26-32 Kbp) and tandem duplicated (11-40 Kbp) large variable genomic islands and insertion sequence copy numbers. We show individual differences suitable for diagnostic differentiation between vaccine and wild type genotypes and provide evidence for functionality of some of the deleted MAP-specific genes and their possible relation to attenuation. CONCLUSIONS: This study shows how culture environments have influenced MAP genome diversity resulting in large tandem genomic duplications, deletions and transposable element activity. In combination with classical selective systematic subculture this has led to fixation of specific MAP genomic alterations in some vaccine strain lineages which link the resulting attenuated phenotypes with deficiencies in high reactive oxygen species handling
