    Serum Interleukin-37 Levels in Patients with Systemic Sclerosis and its Relation with Clinical Findings

    Aim: This study investigates serum interleukin(IL)-37 levels in patients with systemic sclerosis (SS) and assesses its relationship with clinical findings.&#x0D; Methods: This study included 35 patients with SS and 30 healthy control subjects. The demographic and clinical characteristics of the patients, such as the presence of Raynaud’s phenomenon, SS subtype, digital ulcers, gastrointestinal and lung involvement, and disease activity, were recorded. The medications used by the patients were recorded, and Serum IL-37 levels were measured using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The United Kingdom Functional Scoring system was used to evaluate the functional status of the patients, while the Valentini criteria were used to evaluate disease activity. Skin involvement was evaluated based on the modified Rodnan skin score.&#x0D; Results: Although serum IL-37 levels were found to be lower in patients with SS than in the control group, the difference was not statistically significant (p= 0.078). A negative correlation was identified between serum IL-37 levels and C3 levels in patients with SS (p= 0.046). No significant relationship was found between IL-37 levels and other clinical and laboratory parameters.&#x0D; Conclusion: Unlike in patients with autoimmune disorders, serum IL-37 levels were found to be lower in patients with SS than in the control subjects, and IL-37 demonstrated a negative correlation with C3 levels.</jats:p

Biz bu çalıĢmamızda Ġbâzîlerin bu konuya yaklaĢımını ItfiyyiĢ‟in son telif ettiği tefsir olan Teysiru‟t-Tefsir‟i inceleyerek tespit etmeye çalıĢtık.     Türk edebiyatının 17. yüzyıl müelliflerinden biri olan Urfalı Nâbî, ö. 1124/1712 Üveys bin Mehmed Veysî ö. 1038/1628 tarafından yazılan ve Siyer-i Veysî olarak bilinen Dürretü’t-Tâc fî Sîreti Sâhibi’l-Mi’râc adlı esere iki zeyl yazmıştır. Nâbî, Siyer-i Veysî’ye yazdığı zeyillerde birçok Farsça manzume kaleme almıştır. Şair, Farsça manzumelerin bir kısmını başka şairlerin divanlarından alıntı yapmıştır. Bu çalışmada, Nâbî’nin Siyer-i Veysî zeyillerinde geçen Farsça manzumelerin çeviri yazısı yapılmış, manzumelerin tercümeleri ve tespit edilebilen manzumelerin de kaynakları dipnotta gösterilmiştirNâbî from Urfa who was one of the most important authors in Turkish Literature d. 1124/1712 wrote two addenda for Dürretü’t-Tâc fî Sîreti Sâhibi’l-Mi’râc -also known as Siyer-i Veysî- which was written by Üveys bin Mehmed Veysî d. 1038/1628 .     Süleyman Nazif tenkîd sahasında önemli yazılar kaleme alan isimlerden biri olarak dikkat çekmektedir. Gerek Doğu gerekse de Batı edebiyâtına olan âşinalığı ve nesirdeki güçlü sesi Süleyman Nazif’in Türk Edebiyâtının önemli münekkitlerinden biri olmasını sağlamıştır. Süleyman Nazif’in bu kapsamda ele alınabilecek olan bazı yazıları başmuharrirliğini Ali Kemâl’in yaptığı Peyâm-ı Sabâh gazetesinde yayımlanmıştır. Bu yazılardan, ‘Garb Edebiyâtının Edebiyâtımıza Te’sîri’ isimli 5 makaleden oluşan yazı dizisi konu başlığı ve muhtevasıyla dikkat çekmektedir. İlk dördü 1921 yılı sonlarında beşincisi ise 1922 yılı başında kaleme alınan bu makalelerde Süleyman Nazif, Tanzimat dönemi ve sonrasındaki Türk Edebiyâtındaki teceddüd serüvenini aktarmaktadır.     Hanbelî fakîhlerinden İbn Belbân (ö. 1083/1672) 11/17. yy. Şam bölgesi âlimlerindendir. Fıkıh konusunda bazı eserleri bulunan bu âlimin Büğyetü’l-müstefîd fi ilmi’t-tecvîd adlı eserinde tecvîd konuları, Âsım kırâatı Hafs rivâyeti esas alınarak detaylı bir şekilde ele alınmaktadır. Çalışmamızın konusunu teşkil eden Risâletün tete?alleku bi’t-tecvîd eserinde ise giriş kısmında tecvîd konuları özetlenmekte, devamında da kırâat imâmlarına göre harflerin idğâmı ve izhârı etraflıca ele alınmaktadır. Diyarbakır Ziya Gökalp Yazma Eser Kütüphanesi bünyesinde 21 HK 266/4 numara ile kayıtlı olan ve 39b-46a varakları arasında yer alan Risâletün tete?alleku bi’t-tecvîd adlı risâlenin katalogdaki adı “Risâle fî’t-tecvîd” olup “Şemseddîn Muhammed Balban” adına kayıtlıdır. Eserin müstensihi Abdürrahim b. Abdülmukîm olup telif tarihi bilinmemektedir. İstinsâh tarihi 1305/1886 olarak verilmiş ancak istinsâh yeri belirtilmemiştir. Çalışmamızda, şu ana kadar tek nüshası tespit edilen ve kaynaklarda hakkında herhangi bir bilgi bulunmayan İbn Belbân’ın Risâletün tete?alleku bi’t-tecvîd risâlesinin tahkikli neşri yapılmış ve eser hakkında bazı değerlendirmelerde bulunulmuştur.Ibn Belban (d. 1083/1672), one of the Hanbalist jurists, is one of the scholars of the Damascus region of the 11/17 century. In his work Bughyatu'l-Mustefid fi Ilmi't-Tawîid (A Reference Book for Those Who Wish To Benefit from The Science of Tajwid), he discusses the issues of the Tajwid in detail based on the Qiraat of Âsım. In the introductory section of another work of his, namely Risâletun Tete?alleku Bi't-Tajwidîd (The treatises relating to Tajwid), which is the subject of our study, the scholar summarises the issues of tajwid and then idgham (assimilation) and idhar (clarification) of the Qur'anic letters are elaborated on, taking into account the qiraats of Islamic scholars. The name of the treatise called Risâletuen tete?alleku bi't-tecvîd, which is found between pages 39b-46a and bears the number 21 HK 266/4 in the Diyarbakır Ziya Gökalp Manuscript Library, is referred to in the catalogue entries as "Risâle fî't-tecvîd" and Şemseddin Muhammed Balban is named as the author. The copyist of this work is known as Abduerrahim b. Abdulmukîm. The date of publication is unknown. The date of the copy is given as 1305 (1886), but the place of copying is not known. The present study publishes and evaluates Risâletün tete?alleku bi't-tecvîd by Ibn Belbân, of which only one copy has been identified so far and about which no information has been provided in the available sources

    Injury or body fluid splash incidence rate during three months period in elective surgery procedures, at Dicle University Hospital, Diyarbakir, Turkey

    BACKGROUND In this study we aimed to determine the prevalence of sharp injuries (SI) and blood and body fluid (BBF) splashes in health care workers during elective surgery procedures (ESP). This study would help to plan the preventive measures for injuries and BBF splashes. METHODS All ESP were recorded during three months period and SI and BBF splashes were analyzed in Hospital of Dicle University. Hospital employees who reported SI or BBF splashes were interviewed about the types of devices causing injury and the circumstances of the injury. RESULTS During three months period, 1988 ESPs were recorded. SIs were reported in 111 procedures (5.6%) and BBF splashes were in 145 (7.3%). Incidence rate of SI was 2.8 per person year in teaching staff, 5.6 in residents, 6.3 in nurses and 1.5 for other health care workers. Incidence rate of BBF splashes was 14.5 per person year in trainers, 6.9 in residents, 8.4 in nurses, respectively. Duration of ESP, start time of ESP and number of employed personnel in the ESP were the factors that significantly influenced SI incidence. Duration of ESP and total person worked in ESP was effective on BBF splashes. SI was occurred in 14.4 of mandibulofacial, 12.2% of general surgery, 10.5% of chest surgery and 8.4% of brain surgery ESP. BBF splashes occurred in 14.4% of general surgery's, 13.5% of urology's, 14% of chest surgery's, 14.7% of cardiovascular surgery's ESP. The most frequently injured tissue was index finger (33.9%) and the pollex finger (31.4%). CONCLUSION SIs and BBFs are important health risks for health professionals who are involved in surgery, as it is in all other medical practices. SI and BBF splashes should be monitored and preventive measures should be planned urgently

    Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar, şiirlerinde güzel olgusunu estetik boyutlar içinde çeşitli düzlemlerde yansıtmış bir yazardır. Onda görülen, her şeyden önce Kant felsefesine benzeyen, bir güzellik anlayışıdır. Kant, güzeli çıkardan, yani iyiden doğrudan ayrı olarak algılamış ve ona bağımsız bir anlam vermiştir. Tanpınar, somut ve soyut güzellikleri bu düzlemde gördüğünden, şiirleri bir anlamda bize mutlak güzeli gösterir. Bu çerçevede güzellik, şairin şiirlerinde o kadar çok boyutlandırılır ki, adeta güzel ve güzellik resmedilmiş gibi olur. Onun şiirlerinde, güzel yalnızca hoş olan değildir, aynı zamanda; hayaldir, gizemdir, sonsuzluktur, gecedir. Bu göz ile bakıldığında okuyucu; çevresinde, özellikle doğada var olan nesneleri, elbise giymiş birer somut göstergeli güzellik olarak algılar. Nitekim bazı şiirlerinde bu iki kavram, doğa ve güzellik birbirinin yerine geçecek kadar özdeşleşir. Bu çalışma şairin şiirlerinde geçen güzel kavramına yüklenen anlamlara dair bir inceleme olarak tasarlandı.Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar is an author who reflected the beauty phenomenon on various based within aesthetical aspects. Kant philosophy like understanding of beauty is what is seen in him at first sight. Kant perceives the beauty apart from benefit or from good and right and gives idependent meaning to it. Tanpınar considering the abstract ad concrete beauties on this base, his poems show us the exact beauty in one sense. Within this scope, beauty in his poems is so dimensioned that it is almost like the beauty itself is depicted. In Tanpınar’s poems beautiful is not only the nice but also the dream, the mystery, the eternity and the night. From this point the reader perceives the objects existing in the natüre as if a concrete beauty is wearing a dress. As the nature for the poet is so beautiful, all the beauties around him resembles to the nature for him. Especially in some poems the two terms-nature and beauty- are used interchangeably. This study is designed as an investigation on the meanings implied by the term beauty in the poets’s poems

    Spatial and temporal distribution of aquatic insects in the Dicle (Tigris) River Basin, Turkey, with new records

    We investigated insects of the Dicle (Tigris) River Basin in terms of their composition and spatiotemporal distribution. Larvae, pupae, pupal exuviae, and nymphs of insects were obtained from samples collected by a plankton net monthly during a 1-year period in 2008 and 2009 at seven different sites of the Dicle (Tigris) River Basin. A total of 35 taxa from the orders Trichoptera (1 taxon), Ephemeroptera (3 taxa), and Diptera (31 taxa) were identified. Chironomidae (Diptera) was the most diverse group and was represented by three major subfamilies, namely Tanypodinae (2 taxa), Orthocladiinae (19 taxa), and Chironominae (7 taxa). Among these species, Nanocladius (Nanocladius) spiniplenus Saether, 1977 is a new record for Turkey as well as for western Asia. In addition, the Psychomyia larvae found for the first time in the Dicle (Tigris) River Basin (Turkey) were described. Both taxa have been illustrated to warrant validation. Taxa number varied spatially from 6 to 14 and temporally from 2 to 12 during the sampling period.
