Innovativi per tradizione

No full text

Periodic Solutions of Semilinear Multivalued and Functional Evolution Equations in Banach Spaces

No full text
This paper deals with the semilinear multivalued evolution equationx'(t) + A(t)x(t) Є F(t, x(t)), t Є [a, b] and x Є E,in an arbitrary Banach space E.The linear operators {A(t) : t Є [a, b]} are densely defined on a common domain in E and generate a strongly continuous evolution system. We discuss the existence of mild periodic solutions, also in the case when the nonlinear term F depends on aretarded argument. We also show that in both cases the solutions set is compact. The proofs are based on topological arguments and make use of the theory of condensing multimaps

Efficient test environment for multi-level simulations of mixed-signal systems on chip

No full text
The traditional approach for mixed-signal systems is partitioning the design at the beginning of its development cycle: digital and analog portions are then designed and verified separately. The digital design flow is typically top-down, thus allowing a continuous verification of the matching between specification and simulation results. Instead the analog flow is more frequently bottom-up and this makes hard to feedback information from the bottom level simulations to the design top level, being almost impossible SPICE simulations of the whole system (due to the excessive simulation time, convergence troubles and computational effort). This kind of mixed-signal separated flow can easily lead to a final assembly which is not sufficiently tested (such strategy cannot provide the designer with much confidence that digital and analog portions will interface correctly) and thus it's extremely difficult to debug. A full covering test strategy is not allowed also for another reason: many tests are not possible at HDL level, because of the lack of interactivity during simulation process. In fact, if we consider for example a generic calibration sequence, the procedure must assign parameter values depending on DUT state, by changing actions to perform, relating to effects of the previous acted. In this paper we propose a complete environment to test together analog and digital parts by using a semi-automatic VHDL-AMS flow adding the use of Python scripts to drive the simulation, interacting with both Verilog top-level model or real chip, creating a dynamic co-operation for real-time data processing with high re-usability for a fast conditional complete test flow

Serological and Uterine Biomarkers for Detecting Endometritis in Mares

No full text
Serological analysis may provide relevant information on endometritis diagnostics. Therefore, mares scheduled for AI with refrigerated semen, at the time of heat signs, underwent blood and uterine fluid samplings using a swab, uterine lavage for culture analysis, and treatment with human chorionic gonadotropin to induce ovulation. After 24–28 h, the mares were inseminated and, if positive at the culture test, treated with antibiotics chosen based on the susceptibility test. Uterine cells obtained by swabs were used for cytological examination with both classical and fluorescence techniques. Blood serum and uterine fluid samples were analyzed for assessing parameters related to redox balance, inflammation, and protease regulator potential. In blood serum, total antioxidant capacity, measured as the ferric reducing ability of plasma (FRAP), was significantly lower in cytologically endometritis-positive than -negative mares. In the uterine fluid, total thiol levels (TTL), nitric oxide metabolites (NOx), protease activity and total protein content varied significantly between groups. Although the cytological examination was more capable of discriminating between endometritis-positive and -negative mares in relation to the parameters examined, no statistically significant differences emerged in terms of pregnancy rate in relation to cytological and culture diagnosis as well as in mares diagnosed as positive and negative for endometritis
