    mineralization and brine mining

Brine mining of energy-relevant elements (EREs) requires the separation of transition metals from major cations in order to create high-purity streams. Precipitation of carbonates could be used as a separation method leaving EREs in the supernatant, therefore opening the possibility to integrate carbon dioxide (CO2) mineralization with brine mining. Major challenges are that the reaction should reach completion in few days and the inclusion of transition metals in the carbonates should be avoided. In this paper, we report an experimental and modeling work on the precipitation of calcium (Ca) carbonate in the presence of nickel (Ni), copper (Cu), and zinc (Zn). Brines of various compositions were tested to simulate brine enrichment. Atmospheric conditions were applied to study the effect of the metal concentration on the precipitation kinetics and the composition of the carbonates produced. The experiments were run in batch and monitored with inline pH and conductivity probes. Results s..

Female alcohol consumption, motivations for aggression and aggressive incidents in licensed premises.

Research into the relationship between alcohol and aggression has previously focused on men. However, in recent years there has been an increase in binge drinking and violent crime among women, behaviours which have been labelled 'ladette' culture in the UK. The current study advances the literature in this area by investigating the relationship between alcohol consumption and aggressive behaviour of females in licensed premises, including the type of aggression and motivations for aggressive incidents. Ninety-three female university students completed the Student Alcohol Questionnaire (SAQ; Engs, 2002), the Aggression Questionnaire (Buss & Perry, 1992) and a questionnaire developed to measure self-reported aggressive incidents. Females who had been involved in an aggressive incident reported spending more time on average in licensed premises per week and higher levels of aggression as well as consuming significantly more alcohol on the day of the incident than females who had not been involved in an aggressive incident. Contrary to expectations, however, those who had been involved in an aggressive incident did not report drinking more beer (a male-orientated drink) than those who had not. Verbally aggressive incidents were reported more than physically aggressive incidents, and aggression was commonly motivated by an emotional reaction or to address a grievance. The finding that average alcohol consumption per week was significantly associated with female aggression in licensed premises highlights the importance of developing interventions to reduce alcohol consumption among young females. © 2012 Elsevier Ltd

This study is about the morality reflected in D.J. Salinger’s Catcher in the Rye (1951). Morality is the quality of actions which with that actions we can judge that it is good or bad, true or false. The purposes of this study are (1) to explain how morality is depicted by Holden Caulfield in J.D. Salinger's Catcher in the Rye, (2) to describe the morality structure reflected in Catcher in the Rye, (3) to explain how Holden Caulfield viewing morality in Catcher in the Rye. The researcher uses descriptive qualitative method to analyzing the study. In this study, the researcher uses two kinds of data sources: primary data sources and secondary data sources. The technique of data collection is used by using library research and taking note method. The researcher uses the psychology analysis theory from Sigmund Freud and the moral development theory from Lawrence Kohlberg. The result of this study shows it that the main character, Holden Caulfield did some moral deviation because his personality on viewing the society. He views the society is full of hypocrisy and artificiality. And it cause his moral development is inhibited
