The Unfinished Reconstruction of Ujazdowski Castle

    No full text
"For Lewis & Taggart, The Unfinished Reconstruction of Ujazdowski Castle began shortly after their arrival to Warsaw in the spring of 2012. Upon discovering several thousand identical postcards depicting the castle in the late 1980’s, they set to work transforming the image into an alternate vision of the castle’s continuous evolution. Repeatedly dissected, reconfigured, layered upon one another, and combined with material gathered from the castle grounds and the city of Warsaw, the postcards reemerged as a collection of collages, sculptures and assemblages, each extending the potential for metamorphosis embedded within its place of origin." -- Distributor's website

    Hoboken - Castle Point

    No full text
Castle Point is the highest point in Hoboken. The name is a corruption of "Castille Point", due to its supposed resemblance to the Castilian coast in Spain. To early navigators, the high serpentine crag jutting over the river reminded them of a miniature Rock of Gibraltar. It was acquired by Stevens Institute of Technology in 1910 and served as an administrative and residential building until 1959. Castle Point is still part of the Stevens campus. On the side of Castle Point is historic Sybil's Cave, which is now bricked up.Original file name Hobokne Hudson River View copy.jp
