Full text linkOccuparsi di paesaggio significa occuparsi di percezione sociale ed estetica. In conseguenza, occuparsi di tutela e pianificazione paesaggistica dovrebbe significare cercare di “regolare” percezione ed estetica, anche attraverso norme prescrittive. Esiste una via d’uscita? Come si può affrontare il compito di “regolare” il paesaggio scenico? L’articolo illustra la metodologia adottata dalla Regione Piemonte e dalla Direzione Regionale del MiBACT, nonché la sua attuazione a parte di comunità locali. Le Linee guida per l’analisi, la tutela e la valorizzazione degli aspetti scenico-percettivi del paesaggio intendono supportare i processi di adeguamento dei piani urbanistici e decisionali da parte degli enti locali.

L’articolo discute la metodologia adottata dal Piano paesaggistico regionale del Piemonte (l’“interpretazione strutturale”) sullo sfondo della situazione nazionale.
At the international level, landscape character assessment is a well-known methodology, which can be applied at several scales and for different purposes. Landscape interpretation aimed at a regional plan follows specific requirements, given by legislation and by technical questions, among which the scale factor. Challenges in landscape planning: the rural-urban interface
Full text linkPeri-urban, and rur-urban categories emerged in the last decades. Functional linkages and conflicts between urban and rural areas can be found in peri-urban areas. Recent policies by UN, OECD, EU aim at creating 'Rural-Urban Partnerships’ as an integrated approach to economic development, by strengthening national and regional development planning. The paper discuss how landscape planning can offer spatial solutions in metropolitan areas, with particular reference to the concept of Green Infrastructure, and illustrate a range of implementation tools. A case study in Japan, Nishi-Tokyo, provide further insights on actual challenges for conserving urban farmlands in metropolitan areas and shrinking cities
