Henrietta Delavrancea : Romanian modernity of the interwar period.
In the wake of the rapid modernization of Romania between the two World Wars, architecture was the object of a radical renewal. Mindful of the most recent trends in Western Europe, Romanian architects have developed a specific language, combining local traditions with the modernist principles.
Henrietta Delavrancea (1894-1987), one of the very few women practicing architecture at that time, was one of the most brilliant representatives of this quest for renewal. Through the numerous designs she achieved, Delavrancea succeeded in connecting her work with the most advanced architectural experiences of that period. She was sensitive to the “spirit of the place”, and to the question of the site, discussed during the Fourth International Congress of Modern Architecture (CIAM) in Athens, 1933.Carmen Popescu
This paper also presents those aspects they were satisfied with, they are not satisfied with and that the respondents would change or improve in the Centre Development Region. The quantitative marketing research took place in the Centre Development Region between 15.05.2009-17.10.2009. A total of 410 questionnaires have been included in this marketing research.attitude, research, variable, total variant
Repairing or restitution ? The restoration of the chapels in Cahors cathedral.
This study examines the vicissitudes of the restoration programs of the chevet in Cahors cathedral (Lot) between 1868 and 1874. A document connected with the biography of the architect André-Emile Lecomte du Nouÿ allows us to be more specific about Viollet-Le-Duc’s influence on the successive architects. Originally favourable to a mere maintenance in the state, owing to the non-homogeneous nature of the building, Viollet-Le-Duc would have eventually suggested an intervention respecting the romanesque aspect of the Holy Shroud chapel, which took place before 1874.Popescu Carmen.
