Were all the planned projects by the regime really implemented? What is the current state of conservation and how are the structures being utilised today? The purpose of this book is to clarify these uncertainties which are still associated with this architecture today. From a scientific perspective, the results of historical and archival research aim to reconstruct and explain the mechanisms of constructions and the management of territory as well as the architects involved and details of the village projects. The other perspective presented takes the form of easy to use charts which summarise both objective data and theoretical evaluations of each centre. An original and novel work composed of both useful and important information concerning the current use and conservation of this unique architecture, accompanied by rich illustrations which allow a direct comparison of the structures at the time of construction and their contemporary condition today.were built for Italian and Libyan families during the fascist occupation? "the man" ist libyens revolutionsführer muammar gaddafi. seine omnipräsenten konterfeis im öffentlichen raum libyens verstärken nicht nur das sichtbare/absichtliche der offiziellen politik gaddafis, sondern enthüllen ungewollt auch das verdeckte/unsichtbare im politischen leben libyens. neue motive und formen bildlicher darstellungen im öffentlichen raum spiegeln darüber hinaus gehend den nicht immer steuerbaren wandel der libyschen gesellschaft in den letzten jahren wieder."the man" is libya´s revolutionary leader muammar gaddafi. his omnipresent images in libya´s streets do not only intensify the visible/intentional side of his official politics, but unintentionally reveal hidden aspects libya´s political life. furthermore new motives and forms of visual representations show the not always contrallable change of libyan society in recent years
