Recenzja: Hanna i „jej” kino. O książce Kino Hanny Schygulli red. A Gwóźdź, Wrocław 2015
HANNA AND “HER” CINEMA. ON THE BOOK KINO HANNY SCHYGULLI, ED. A. GWÓŹDŹ, WROCŁAW 2015, 394 PP.The paper is a review of Kino Hanny Schygulli a volume published in the series “Niemcy — Media — Kultura” “Germany — Media — Culture”, edited by Andrzej Gwóźdź. Contributors of the publication represent various disciplines and present their own unique view. As a consequence, the main aim of the volume — which is to show a phenomenon of Schygulla’s art of acting in the broadest perspective — is fulfilled. The actress is presented as a creative entity, an exceptional co-author of films in which she performed. The author of the review claims that although the contributors analyze an interesting and still undescribed issue, the book does not meet the reader’s expectations, provoked by the editor’s initial assumptions expressed in the preface. The biggest deficiency of the volume seems to be the lack of solid theoretical background in describing the connection between the author and the actor developed in theatre and film studies. The Role of the Oral Health Therapist in the Provision of Oral Health Care to Patients Across All Ages
Od „małego realizmu” do „wielkiej metafory”. Obraz czasów PRL-u w reportażach Hanny Krall
Hanna Krall is an acclaimed journalist and author, whose books were translated into multiple languages. However, relatively little critical attention has been given since her rise to world fame to her early work as a journalist. This article revisits this unjustly neglected part of her biography, when she made her name by reportages portraying the realities of life in Poland in the 1970s (the Edward Gierek's decade) and registering the tensions that led to the political earthquake of 1980 and culminated in the collapse of the communist system in 1989.Stosunkowo zaniedbany naukowo i krytycznie jest wczesny okres twórczości Hanny Krall, wybitnej i szeroko znanej reporterki. Evaluation of a Pilot Bridging Program to Enable Australian Dental Therapists to Treat Adult Patients
Provision of oral health care to adult patients by dental therapists without the prescription of a dentist
The effectiveness of SMS Reminders and the impact of patient characteristics on missed appointments in a public dental outpatient clinic
This paper reports on the Failure To Attend (FTA) rate of appointments as well as patients following the implementation of SMS reminders in a public dental outpatient service. Given the ineffectiveness of the intervention and a highly representative patient’s profile, this paper identifies the demographic characteristics of patients who miss all of their appointments. Data on appointment attendance, patient demographics and dental service type was collected over a time period of 46 consecutive months. Using descriptive and inferential statistics (chi-square, two sample tests and Marascuilo procedure) we found the SMS intervention was ineffective in reducing the FTA rates. Further, patients associated with high rates of non-attendance exhibited one or more of the following characteristics: male; age 26 – 44; non-concession card holders; a person of Indigenous, local, Asian or African descent, and of refugee status, persons living in low socio-economic areas; and appointments in General Care and Student Clinics. Whilst the literature overwhelmingly attributes SMS reminders to improving the attendance rate of patients in outpatient clinics, our contradictory findings suggest a more targeted approach in settings whose patients exhibit strong characteristics associated with non-attendance
