RANCANG BANGUN SISTEM MONITORING DAN PREDIKSI MINAT SISWA SMA MUHAMMADIYAH 10 SURABAYA BERBASIS WEB
Character building and improving the quality of students are important. Monitoring activities and predicting student interests are needed. It is hoped that this activity can channel students' talents and interests. Researchers observed that consultation or guidance activities at SMA Muhammadiyah 10 Surabaya were still carried out individually. Based on these problems, this research was made with a special purpose, namely to facilitate the consultation / guidance process of student talent interest with counseling guidance teachers.
The method used by the author in determining student interest predictions is the Naive Bayes method. The Naive Bayes method is a decision support algorithm that is quite accurate in its application. By using this approach, it is hoped that it can provide an overview to students in determining the majors they will take according to their interests and talents. The output of this program is in the form of suggestions / recommendations from faculty registered in higher education. In the process of producing these outputs, students will be presented with several general questions about the potential of students at the high school level.
In making the application of the Monitoring System and predicting student interest at SMA Muhammadiyah 10 Surabaya, it can be concluded that the author can know the performance of the system directly and can design a new system which is expected to be used to help and facilitate teachers in monitoring student activities and making faculty predictions that later can used as a recommendation to register at the university of choice.

Al-Faruqi's Islamization of Science in Sardar's Critical Perspective
This research conducts an in-depth analysis of Ziauddin Sardar's views on the concept of Islamization of science promoted by Ismail Raji al-Faruqi. By exploring the works of the two figures, this research reveals in detail Sardar's criticisms of the epistemological, paradigmatic and methodological foundations underlying the Islamization of science. The analysis shows that Sardar has fundamental concerns about the potential of the Islamization of science to limit the diversity of knowledge, shift established scientific paradigms, and sacrifice the rigor of research methodology. According to Sardar, attempts to impose Islamic views into all aspects of science risk stifling the development of science as a whole. This study also presents a more thoughtful interpretation. The author argues that the Islamization of science should not be understood as a way to completely overhaul established scientific paradigms and methods. Instead, the Islamization of science can be an opportunity to expand our understanding of natural phenomena by integrating Islamic perspectives. With descriptive analysis, this study concludes that the Islamization of science can be a bridge to a more comprehensive synthesis of knowledge, provided it is done wisely and avoids oversimplification. In responding to the concept of Islamization of science, Sardar offers constructive criticism. He reminds us to maintain harmony between religious values and academic autonomy in advancing science. While critical of certain aspects, Sardar does not entirely dismiss the concept. He advocates for a more inclusive and open dialogue among Muslim scientists and Islamic scholars to collaboratively develop a model of Islamization that is both relevant to contemporary challenges and compatible with the principles of scientific inquiry

A Maluku Sea intermediate western boundary current connecting Pacific Ocean circulation to the Indonesian Throughflow. Nature Communications, 13(1), (2022): 2093, https://doi.org/10.1038/s41467-022-29617-6.The Indonesian Throughflow plays an important role in the global ocean circulation and climate. Existing studies of the Indonesian Throughflow have focused on the Makassar Strait and the exit straits, where the upper thermocline currents carry North Pacific waters to the Indian Ocean. Here we show, using mooring observations, that a previous unknown intermediate western boundary current (with the core at ~1000 m depth) exists in the Maluku Sea, which transports intermediate waters (primarily the Antarctic Intermediate Water) from the Pacific into the Seram-Banda Seas through the Lifamatola Passage above the bottom overflow. Our results suggest the importance of the western boundary current in global ocean intermediate circulation and overturn. We anticipate that our study is the beginning of more extensive investigations of the intermediate circulation of the Indo-Pacific ocean in global overturn, which shall improve our understanding of ocean heat and CO2 storages significantly. This study is supported by NSFC (D.Y., Z.W., Y.L., Y.Y., S.T., J.W., and X.L.: 41720104008; D.Y., J.W., Y.L., X.L., Y.Y., S.T., X.H., and X.Y.: 91858204), the National Key Research and Development Program of China (D.Y. and X.L.: 2020YFA0608800), CAS (D.Y., Z.W., J.W., and Y.L.: XDB42000000), projects. Characterising acute and chronic care needs: insights from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019
Chronic care manages long-term, progressive conditions, while acute care addresses short-term conditions. Chronic conditions increasingly strain health systems, which are often unprepared for these demands. This study examines the burden of conditions requiring acute versus chronic care, including sequelae. Conditions and sequelae from the Global Burden of Diseases Study 2019 were classified into acute or chronic care categories. Data were analysed by age, sex, and socio-demographic index, presenting total numbers and contributions to burden metrics such as Disability-Adjusted Life Years (DALYs), Years Lived with Disability (YLD), and Years of Life Lost (YLL). Approximately 68% of DALYs were attributed to chronic care, while 27% were due to acute care. Chronic care needs increased with age, representing 86% of YLDs and 71% of YLLs, and accounting for 93% of YLDs from sequelae. These findings highlight that chronic care needs far exceed acute care needs globally, necessitating health systems to adapt accordingly.
