Lydia Cabrera entre líneas: sociolingüística, etnografía posmoderna y realismo mágico
No full textLos que estudian Cuba seguramente se han enfrentado con la metáfora popular que se usa para describir a los habitantes cubanos: “La isla de Cuba es un ajiaco.” Cuba, como muchos países latinoamericanos, es una mezcla compleja de varias culturas que finalmente terminan marcando la identidad cubana. Desde los principios del siglo XVI se puede notar la presencia africana en Latinoamérica y especialmente en Cuba. Una de las figuras más importantes que se dedicó a estudiar la cultura afrocubana fue Lydia Cabrera. Esta presentación es un acercamiento lingüístico, etnográfico y analítico hacia la obra de esta escritora cubana. A través de la presentación, exploraremos la vida de Cabrera para poder contextualizar a esta escritora y sus estudios etnográficos, tratando de acercarnos a la pregunta: “¿por qué Cabrera tuvo interés en los negros de Cuba?”. En el aspecto lingüístico me dedico a exhibir la formación del español del esclavo cubano, cómo ha cambiado a través del tiempo y las implicaciones lingüísticas que tiene la escritura de Cabrera. Dentro de los elementos etnográficos, examino la filosofía detrás de la etnografía de Cabrera y cómo la aplica en sus investigaciones y escritura. Finalmente, la presentación contiene un análisis de la escritura para argumentar que Cabrera es una precursora del realismo mágico y de lo real maravilloso con su uso de elementos fundamentales de estas corrientes literaria
Características y cuidados en pacientes con patologías preexistentes: hipertensión arterial y diabetes mellitus
No full textEn este trabajo se busca exponer las características principales de dos de las patologías más comunes en pacientes que llegan a la consulta, teniendo en cuenta los cuidados y requisitos que deben tenerse para con ellos. Podemos ver que tanto la diabetes mellitus como la hipertensión arterial son patologías que deben tenerse muy en cuenta al momento de la atención odontológica, ya que las mismas tienen repercusiones en distintos niveles del organismo que pueden condicionar el tipo de tratamiento que se realice en la clínica o consultorio, tanto, así como los cuidados y terapias que deban realizarse antes, durante y después del tratamiento, sumado a los controles pertinentes. La paciente integral en cuestión presenta una serie de patologías de base dentro de las cuales se destacan estas dos. Es lógico pensar que el tratamiento a realizar va a variar un poco en consideración al que se realizaría en una persona sin patologías de base o al menos sin estas patologías. La diabetes mellitus y la hipertensión son dos de las patologías que más frecuentemente podemos encontrarnos en la práctica diaria. Es importante valorar el estado de los pacientes para identificar si sus patologías se encuentran controladas o no al momento de la atención odontológica y también es menester inculcar a las nuevas camadas de odontólogos para que realicen análisis y controles de estos pacientes previa a la atención. También el odontólogo debe conocer las características bucales de estos pacientes, ya sea que las manifestaciones bucales particulares sean causa de la patología en si misma o que se encuentren relacionados con la terapia farmacológica a la cual estos pacientes se someten.Fil: Cabrera Ramos, Mauricio Adrián. Reconstructing Beethoven: Mauricio Kagel’s Ludwig van
No full textThe subject of this dissertation is Ludwig van, Mauricio Kagel’s tribute to Beethoven on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the latter’s birth, which consists of three separate, but closely related, versions: a film, a musical score and a recording. The main aim of this project is to analyse the performance problems that musicians have to face when realising the score Ludwig van, which is an entirely indeterminate collage of Beethoven’s music, and to suggest ways of tackling them. For this purpose, all three versions of the work are studied in this thesis. The film is examined in terms of the issues it raises concerning Beethoven’s reception and of the function of its music, which consists of unusual performances of Beethoven’s works. The score is analysed from the perspective of postmodern theory and 20th-century art movements, while the roles of the composer and the performer are discussed and redefined. The recording is studied as a sample of how Kagel himself chose to realise his own score. Finally, the difficulties I encountered in my own attempts to realise Ludwig van are discussed, and the ways in which I dealt with them are presented. The conclusion at which this dissertation arrives is that, in works of such indeterminacy as Ludwig van, the performers are required to step outside their conventional role and act partly as composers. Compared to works that are considered challenging to the performer in the conventional sense, of requiring technical virtuosity, this work presents a more fundamental challenge, which has to do with overcoming personal boundaries: it asks the performer not to execute a pre-composed work, but to create their own version of Ludwig van. Since very little has been written about Ludwig van by performers with an academic background, this thesis can offer valuable assistance to prospective performers of the work in their attempt to balance between the highly charged conceptual aspect of the composition and the practical need to achieve its successful performance
