Digital technologies and human-machine interaction in air traffic control operations
The aim of this study is to exploit digital technologies to develop and validate an innovative Human Machine Interface for Air Traffic Control Operations tailored based on actual visibility condition, specific phase of flight and different user working positions. The model for the interface prototype exploits multimodal interaction features and implements technologies and functions such as Extended Reality, aircraft identification and tracking labels, and safety net visualization. Moreover, it includes the future possible scenario of the Air Traffic Management comprising the integration of autonomous drones and Urban Air Mobility
The article focuses on the limit, the need and the desire. Starting from the
recognition that the limit is consubstantial with the education. Indeed, the limit
is the meta-rule that should inspire the individual rules. Then to analyze the
desire on the basis of Lacan, Freud and other Authors. With the desire that is
other than the pleasure and the enjoyment. And with the object of desire which
is a ghost or an illusion. Lastly, with the need, which is the pedagogical
response to the desire, defining a state of real urgency, physiologically
connoted, of the subject. The same need, recognized and limited, which is the
answer to a possible and practicable enjoyment, and, equally, to a well-posed
and articulated question. A need updated, for quantity and quality, by the
education. In view of the three main aims of the education: the freedom, the
autonomy and the responsibility. And with the same pedagogy that does not
legislate, but offers tools for their correct exercise. Thus, the educational
relationship is able to educate desires, to submit them to the pleasure principle
and, where if this fails, to bring everything back to the principle of reality,
beacon and foundation of education
The contribution analyzes the evolution of pedagogical associations in the university environment from the second post-war period to the present, identifying a possible field of action for the C.I.R.PED. 2.0, in collaboration with all other existing pedagogical societies
As the titles of the paragraphs indicate, this contribution intends to have both a political and scientific angle, with references to the pedagogical tradition and the history of this disciplinary field in Italy, particularly in the last twenty years. It carries two key messages. First, it is necessary to create and systematise cohesive and international communities and simplify the scientific-disciplinary sectors and scientific societies. Secondly, whilst rooted in memory («there is no future without memory»), it is essential to innovate to make pedagogical research contemporary and useful to the People, Institutions and the Nation
The system of environmental and economic accounting and the valuation problem: a review of the literature
The System of Environmental and Economic Accounting aims at the integration of
national accounts with the contributions of the environment. After three decades of
development, though, only a portion of it has become an international standard for
national accounting. Its uncertain, experimental status reflects the complexities
faced by a project that requires a clear and implementable concept of valuation to
be applied to non-market goods. In this paper, we review the debate between
competing theories of value that had a role in the early development of the System
and we follow the discussion that first accompanied the drafting of its current
version and is now informing a revision process that will lead to a new edition of
the Experimental Ecosystem Accounting module by 2021. The next developments
and every step made toward integration will affect not just the content of the
national accounts but also how it can be collected and used
A Social Performance Analysis of Italian Microfinance
This paper aims to analyse Italian MFIs social performance according to the core set of common indicators and framework developed by the Social Performance Task Force using data collected by Fondazione Giordano Dell’Amore and Fondazione Risorsa Donna in 2008 for the European Microfinance Network (EMN) Survey 2006-2007. Key features and client profiles of Italian leading MFIs are also identified with respect to their social performance indicators. The methodology adopted in the current social performance analysis follows the
reference framework specified in Social Performance Standard Reports. It examines the whole process of translating MFIs mission into social impact and includes the analysis of several connected dimensions of the social performance pathway corresponding to areas covered by the indicators: the intent of the MFI,
the effectiveness of the internal system and activities in achieving its targets, MFI outputs and eventually its capacity to positively affect clients life and achieve social goals
Measuring the Social Performance of Microfinance in Europe
Microfinance promise to serve low-income or disadvantaged beneficiaries excluded from the formal banking sector in a financially sustainable way (thus to achieve the so called “double bottom line” of financial and social performance) built excitement around the development of a global industry. However, for a
long time an anti-subsidy position embedded in the international key donor community have shown little concern of social performance data and information on beneficiaries profiles in terms of various dimension of social and financial exclusion. Until recently, most of the emphasis of microfinance advocates has
been devoted to MFIs financial performance following the “win-win” proposition, according to which financial viability should be sufficient to show social impact, a view that is supported by a controversial evidence and is based on a selective
understanding of conceptual facts. Nevertheless, several initiatives recently translated into the Social Performance Task Force (SPTF) attempt to explore social aspects of microfinance providing a new definition of social performance more focused on the whole process leading to a social impact. Aim of this paper is to measure European MFIs social performance according to a core set of common indicators developed by the SPTF but using data collected in 2010 by the European Microfinance Network (EMN) on a sample of 170 microfinance actors operating in 21 countries out of 27 European Union (EU) member countries, current EU candidate countries and countries belonging to the European Free Trade Area (EFTA). ìThe reference framework followed in the current social performance analysis examines the whole process of translating MFIs mission into social impact and includes the analysis of three connected dimensions of the social performance process corresponding to different set of indicators: the intent of the MFI, the effectiveness of the internal system and activities in achieving its targets, MFI outputs and eventually its capacity to positively affect clients life and achieve social goals
