A Study of Concone 50
Concone 50 is used as a teaching material for most of the beginning students of vocal music in Japan. Vocalizes such as those by Concone, with no specific languages accompanying them, can effectively help students to develop skills of connecting notes to form a melody line before they start singing pieces with lyrics. Such skills are essential for singers, no matter which language they may sing in. Professor Emeritus Ryosuke Hatanaka, editor of Zen-On Music's Concone 50 Lessons, writes in its preface that usage of Concone 50 can be categorized into three, namely using it (1) in solfeggio lessons; (2) for genuine practice in vocalization; and (3) for learning artistic expression of melodies. He then argues that it is impossible to master all the three categories in a single go-through; his belief, to put it in extreme terms, is that Concone 50 is a lifetime textbook for students of vocal music; even if they focus only on selected basics, it should be learned over at least three years. However, it is not feasible in the teacher training program at Hiroshima University to cover Concone 50 completely, nor to spend three years on learning it. With the time constraint as it is, using only selected pieces in solfeggio lessons, as suggested in above (1), would be more realistic. For the purpose of making such selections more efficient, this study explores a way to evaluate each piece in Concone 50 by certain numerical figures as opposed to the conventional, subjective judgment. Among the various factors that constitute music, this study focuses solely on degrees between notes, considering the fact that the pieces in Chorubungen, the most common material that precedes Concone 50, are introduced in the increasing order of degrees
APLIKASI MEDIA AUDIO ETUDE CONCONE OPUS 9 NO 1 SAMPAI DENGAN NO 5 UNTUK PEMBELAJARAN PAKET KEAHLIAN VOKAL KELAS X DI SMKN 10 BANDUNG
Penelitian ini membahas tentang penggunaan media audio etude concone opus 9 no 1 sampai dengan no 5 untuk pembelajaran paket keahlian vokal kelas X di SMKN 10 Bandung, substansi materi pembelajaran paket keahlian vokal adalah materi etude concone opus 9 no 1 sampai dengan no 5. Tujuan dilaksanakan penelitian ini adalah untuk membantu siswa paket keahlian vokal di SMKN 10 Bandung terhadap subsansi vokal dasar seperti ketepatan nada, pernafasan, ritmik,dan pemenggalan pengkalimatan melodi melalui pengaplikasian Media Audio Etude concone opus 9 no 1 sampai dengan no 5 yang telah dirancang sesuai dengan tujuan dan tahap-tahap pembelajaran. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan karena secara empirik dilapangan pembelajaran etude concone opus 9 merupakan materi dasar untuk pembelajaran paket keahlian vokal. namun dalam proses pembelajaran di SMKN 10 Bandung khsusunya pembelajaran paket keahlian vokal, belum ada penggunaan media yang tepat untuk membantu siswa dalam memahami aspek vokal dasar. Secara praktik peneliti memiliki kemampuan dalam bidang keahlian vokal, memiliki konsep dalam pembuatan media untuk pembelajaran paket keahlian vokal, di dukung dengan peneliti merupakan alumni dari SMKN 10 Bandung. Metode yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode eksperimen. Hal ini digunakan untuk melihat perkembangan kemampuan siswa paket keahlian vokal setelah menggunakan media audio etude concone opus 9. Hasil temuan dilapangan ternyata terdapat peningkatan kemampuan siswa yang signifikan setelah menggunakan media audio etude concone opus 9 no 1 sampai dengan no 5. Dengan kata lain penggunanan media audio etude concone opus 9 no 1 sampai dengan no 5 efektif dan efisisen dalam membantu siswa dalam mempelajari dan menguasai materi etude concone opus 9 no 1 sampai dengan no 5

This current study investigates the application of audio media Etude Concone Opus 9 No 1 to 5 for vocal learning in the tenth grade, SMKN 10 Bandung, the sub materials of vocal learning includes etude concone opus 9 no 1 to 5. This study aims at helping the students of SMKN 10 Bandung understand the basic vocal substance such as the accuracy of pitch, rhythm, the respiration, and the melody beheading through the application of Etude Concone Opus 9 No 1 to 5, which has been designed to satisfy the goal and stages of the learning. Empirically, this study is conducted due to the fact that Etude Concone Opus refers to the basic material for vocal learning. Yet, SMKN 10 Bandung still has not found the proper media used to help the students understand the aspect of basic vocal. Practically, the researcher understands vocal learning and has the concept of the media production for vocal learning where the reasons are supported by the fact that the researcher is an alumnus of SMKN 10 Bandung. This study employs experimental method. It is used to observe the development of vocal learning students after applying Etude Concone Opus 9 No 1 to 5. The result shows that there is a significant improvement in students’ ability after employing Etude Opus 9 No 1 to 5. In other words, it could be said that the application of audio media Etude Concone Opus 9 No 1 to 5 effectively and efficiently helps the students understand the materials of Etude Concone Opus 9 No 1 to 5
VACCAI VE CONCONE SES ETÜTLERİNİN ÖĞRENCİ PERFORMANS DEĞERLERİ GELİŞİMİ ÜZERİNE ETKİSİ
Bu araştırmanın amacı, Vaccai ve Concone ses etüt kitaplarındaki etütlerin,Güzel Sanatlar Liseleri öğrencilerinin performans değerleri üzerine etkisinin olupolmadığının incelenmesidir. Araştırmada kontrol gruplu ön test- son test deneyselaraştırma modeli kullanılmıştır. Deney ve kontrol grubu seçiminde random tekniğinegöre seçim yapılmıştır. Araştırma problemine bakılarak, oluşturulan veri toplamaaraçları belirlenirken, uzman görüşleri alınarak Vaccai ve Concone ses etütleribelirlenmiş, Genel Kulak Burun Boğaz Muayenesi ve VLS (videolarengostro-boskopik)değerlendirmesi yapılmıştır. Ayrıca Performans Değerlendirme ölçeği uzman birkomisyon tarafından öğrencilere uygulanmış, toplanan verilerin istatistiksel çözümleriiçin SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) 22.00 istatistik paket programındanyararlanılmıştır. Ayrıca grup içi parametrelerin değerlendirilmesinde Wilcoxon işaretlisıralar testinden ve Mann Whitney U testinden yararlanılmıştır. İstatistiksel anlamlılıkiçin 0,05 anlamlılık düzeyi kullanılmıştır. Deney ve kontrol gruplarının arasında yapılankarşılaştırmada performans değerlendirme değerleri açısından deney grubunda olanöğrencilerle kontrol grubunda olan öğrenciler arasında anlamlı farklılık olduğugörülmüştür. Elde edilen sonuçlar, deney grubuna uygulanan Vaccai ve Conconeetütlerinin, öğrencinin ses gelişimine etkili olduğu hipotezini desteklemektedir
A Fog-Based Application for Human Activity Recognition Using Personal Smart Devices
The diffusion of heterogeneous smart devices capable of capturing and analysing data about users, and/or the environment, has encouraged the growth of novel sensing methodologies. One of the most attractive scenarios in which such devices, such as smartphones, tablet computers, or activity trackers, can be exploited to infer relevant information is human activity recognition (HAR). Even though some simple HAR techniques can be directly implemented on mobile devices, in some cases, such as when complex activities need to be analysed timely, users’ smart devices can operate as part of a more complex architecture. In this article, we propose a multi-device HAR framework that exploits the fog computing paradigm to move heavy computation from the sensing layer to intermediate devices and then to the cloud. As compared to traditional cloud-based solutions, this choice allows to overcome processing and storage limitations of wearable devices while also reducing the overall bandwidth consumption. Experimental analysis aims to evaluate the performance of the entire platform in terms of accuracy of the recognition process while also highlighting the benefits it might bring in smart environments
SmartWave: A Smart Platform for Marine Environmental Monitoring
In recent years, the interest in the study of seas and oceans has dramatically increased as they are considered of primary importance for forecasting catastrophic events or for supporting blue economy, as well as the marine tourism, improving the tourist reception or enhancing any marine-related activity. This led to the development of IT platforms that allow to monitor the marine environment and provide a number of services to different kinds of final users, whether they are private individuals interested in the status of the seas, or companies whose business depends on the marine environmental monitoring. The main limitations of current platforms are due to such a difference between free trials, which often focus only on specific aspects of deep waters, and subscriptions, which provide analyzes whose reliability is generally not proportional to the costs. This paper presents SmartWave, a project funded by Regione Sicilia (European Regional Development Fund), that aims to develop a novel IT platform to observe and predict phenomena that characterize the marine environment, while also providing the consumer with a unified portal to collect, access and analyze marine-related information. To achieve this goal, one of the main challenges of this project is to aggregate and standardize heterogeneous data from multiple sources in order to offer very accurate information to private or business consumers
WiP: Smart services for an augmented campus
Technological progress in recent years has allowed the design of new intelligent learning systems in smart environments aiming to facilitate users' lives. As a consequence, besides making use of traditional sensors for monitoring the quantities of interest, such systems can also benefit from information obtained from the users' smart devices, which can now be considered as additional sensing tools. In this article, we present the design of a novel system based on the fog computing paradigm that can improve the services offered to users on a smart campus by using different smart devices, i.e., smartphones, smartwatches, tablets, smartcameras and so on. In particular, we will describe a system in which several smart devices will collect sensory and context information, whilst the cloud will aggregate and analyze this data to extract information of particular interest. The main challenge of this project is to create an intelligent platform that allows new software modules to be added without having to re-design the entire architecture, and that can provide new services to campus users or improve existing ones
