CIMMYT Maize Lines (CMLs) - Pedigree and characterization data
CIMMYT has periodically announced CIMMYT Maize Lines (CMLs). CMLs are carefully selected inbred lines with good general combining ability and a significant number of value-adding traits such as drought tolerance, N use efficiency, acid soil tolerance, resistance to diseases, insects and parasitic weeds. In many instances, they are parental lines of hybrids which have proven successful in one or several maize mega-environments. For each line, there is information about pedigree, heterotic group, disease resistance, agronomic characteristics, adaptation group, and other attributes in the reference CML information catalog file. These CML lines are available at the CIMMYT Maize Germplasm Bank: http://www.cimmyt.org/seed-request/#maize. For more information, please contact: [email protected]

CIMMYT Maize Genetic Resource Lines
CIMMYT makes available to the public a set of maize inbred lines called CIMMYT Maize Genetic Resource Lines (CMGRL). The CMGRLs are derived from crosses between elite CIMMYT lines and landrace accessions, populations or synthetics from the CIMMYT Germplasm Bank.
CMGRLs are intended to be used by breeders as sources of novel alleles for traits of economic importance. These lines should also be of interest to maize researchers who are not breeders but are studying the underlying genetic mechanisms of abiotic and biotic traits.
The inaugural group of CMGRLs includes five subtropical-adapted lines with tolerance to drought during flowering and grain-fill and four tropical adapted lines for Tar Spot Complex resistance
CIMMYT Eastern Africa 2019 Regional Trial Report
This dataset contains the results from three regional trials carried out in Eastern Africa in 2019. Each report focuses on a different product profile.
Two reports present data for product profile EA-PP1, It focuses on includes early/intermediate-maturing white maize with multiple stress tolerance (drought, low N, MLN, MSV, TLB, GLS, ear rots) for the Eastern African rainfed mid-altitude dry/wet agro-ecologies.
The third report presents data for product profile EA-PP2. It focuses on late-maturing, white maize varieties with multiple stress tolerance (drought, low N, GLS, TLB, MSV, ear rots, Striga) for the Eastern African rainfed upper mid-altitude region
2021 CIMMYT Maize Latin America Product Announcement / Anuncio de Productos de Maíz de CIMMYT en Latinoamérica
New and improved maize hybrids, developed by the CIMMYT Global Maize Program, are available for uptake by public and private sector partners, especially those interested in marketing or disseminating hybrid maize seed across Latin America and similar agro-ecological zones. Following a rigorous trialing and a stage-gate advancement process culminating in the 2020 Stage 5 trials, CIMMYT advanced a total of two new elite maize hybrids in Latin America in 2021. Phenotypic data collected in Stage 4 and Stage 5 trials for the two selected hybrids as well as information about the trial sites are provided in this dataset. These trials were conducted through a network of partners, including NARS and private seed companies, in Latin America under various management and environmental conditions.
