A Simple Power Converter for Variable Speed Wind Turbine

interface for connecting a small power wind turbine to a
single phase power plant. In general, when the wind speed
drops under a given level, the traditional systems are not
able to work in a satisfactory way. The proposed technique,
which employs a step-up power converter for feeding the
utility grid through an unidirectional full bridge inverter,
allows to transfer energy even in case of low variable wind
turbine speed

unconventional power modulator for mono-phase a.c. resistive heaters,
previously proposed and analysed under the theoretical point of view.
Such modulator permits a linear regulation of heating power ensuring
an almost unity fundamental power factor with low distortion of line
current. Some experimental results coming from the test of a prototype
are reported
