IMPACTS OF PRICING POLICIES ON SELECTED FINANCIAL OUTCOMES OF THE CATTLEMEN'S TEXAS LONGHORN BEEF COOPERATIVE, INC.

The impacts of meat pricing on selected financial results for the CattlemenÂ’'s Texas Longhorn Beef Cooperative, Inc. were investigated in a stochastic simulation model. Triangular price distributions for boxed beef and various carcasses categories were specified for each month and correlated, based on 2000 USDA carlot meat report data. Hot-carcass weights were also modeled as triangular distributions. At 5,000 head and with meat prices 12% over USDA prices the probability of net profits before taxes (NPBT) falling below 0was1.30 was 1.3%. At 10,000 head and payments 9% over USDA prices there was an 11.8% chance of NPBT falling below 0.Demand and Price Analysis,

Plant root bacteria as a support for phytoremediation of heavy metal contaminated soil

    No full text
Several heavy metal resistant strains were isolated from the soil/rhizosphere of spontaneous plants, growing in a highly polluted soil. One particularly resistant strain, growing on 7.5 mM CdCl2, was selected from the rhizosphere of a Brassica sp. plant. Phenotypic tests and 16S rDNA analysis enabled to identify the strain as Serratia plymuthica. The resistance mechanism proved to diverge from the czc system of Alcaligenes euthrophus, as shown through the use of a czc probe. Intracellular accumulation of Cd was occurring as determined by ICP analysis. The presence of the isolate in the rhizosphere of Brassica plants was supposed to be in connection with its ability to produce Plant Growth Promoting Compounds such as Indol-acetic acid. The use of members of Brassicaceae as heavy metal accumulating plants for phytoremediation purposes may therefore take advantage from the presence of this bacterial specie

Importanza del momento d'inoculo nella fermentazione malolattica di Raboso Piave.

    No full text
