No full textThis private scrip was issued in Washington-On-The-Brazos in Washington County by W. C. Wilson & Co. The note is payable in Treasury Notes of the Republic of Texas. Each side of the note's recto contains a decorative floral border. The phrase 'Four Bits.' is imprinted in an outline serif font on the note's left side to the left of an imprinted double line. Two decorative imprints appear on the note's upper edge; between them, the abbreviation 'No.' is printed in a serif font, and the handwritten value '30' appears to the right. The phrase 'Due the Bearer four bits in current Treasury Notes, when the sum of' is printed in a serif font in the center of the note. The phrase 'four bits' is printed in capital letters. The words 'Five Dollars' are imprinted in an outline serif font in the middle of the phrase. The phrase continues, 'is presented at our Store.' in a serif font. The handwritten signature ' W C Wilson + Co' appears in the lower center right of the note. The word 'Washington,' is imprinted in the lower left side of the note, followed by the handwritten date 'June 2 1838'. No full textThe "Anna C. Wilson" was a wooden passenger steamer built by Reuben T. Rogers of Saugatuck, Michigan in 1912. Her last owner was Edward Hinz, who bought the ship in 1931. He operated the "Anna C. Wilson" as an excursion steamer along the Chicago-area shoreline. The ship was abandoned in 1942

No full textGeorge C. Wilson (d.2001) was a music educator, band director, Director and Vice-President of the National Music Camp at Interlochen, Michigan. In 1948, he was elected a member of American Bandmasters Association (ABA), where he served on the board of Directors (1963, 1966), as vice-president (1964), and president (1965), and in 1998 was elected as an honorary life member. The George C. Wilson papers include materials relating to Wilsons tenure as the director at Interlochen, including correspondence, programs, calendars, and newspaper clippings from National Music Camp; correspondence and programs relating to appearances as guest conductor and adjudicator in the United States and abroad; and newspapers, correspondence, and other ephemera regarding the creation, at the invitation of Imelda Marcos, of the Philippine National Arts Center in Manila in 1976.
