"Quelle cavalerie?" Le Prince de Homburg: un drame de l'artiste en jeune homme

    No full text
Heinrich von Kleist's drama Prinz von Homburg is compared with a letter written by the author to his friend Ruehle in december 1805, where history is described like something disturbing the artist and very far from aesthetics. The historical subject of the drama, according to this idea, seems to be as a consequence less important than it is normally considered by scholars: the central issue in the dramatic plot is rather the competition between art and history, represented by the crisis of the main charachter

Detection of a flare at Fermi LAT energies during a multiwavelength campaign on Markarian 180

    No full text
We present the results of the analysis of Markarian 180 (1ES 1133+704), a BL Lac object embedded in a giant elliptical galaxy, obtained for a period of 45 day, during which multi-wavelength observations were ongoing. The multi-wavelength campaign on Mrk180 was in 2008 (from 2008-10-24 to 2008-12-08) and was coordinated by Stefan Rugamer (MAGIC Collaboration). The Mrk 180 is associated with a quasar-like object whose distance can be determined unambiguously, thanks to the measurement of absorption line that gives the redshift (z=0.046; Ulrich 1978). The source was observed by the LAT of the Fermi satellite, and it was possible to discover a change of flux, at the energies 100 MeV–300 GeV, during the multi-wavelength campaign period. Results of the analysis are shown

"Il suddito" di Heinrich Mann, o Nietzsche contra Nietzsche

    No full text
The article focusses on the influence of Friedrich Nietzsche's thinking on Heinrich Mann as the author of the novel "Der Untertan". In particular it underlines Mann's familiarity with Nietzsche's genealogic analysis of language and quotes some pages written by the author in a "notebook", discovered in 1996 by Peter-paul Schneider, where a central character of the Novel, Wolfgang Buck, talks with the loyal subject about the philisopher and the way the era of Bismarck and Wilhelm II took advantage of his language for its own reactionary aims

Prevalence of paunch calf syndrome carriers in Italian Romagnola cattle.

    No full text
The term 'paunch calf syndrome' encompasses the multi-organic lethal developmental dysplasia reported in the Romagnola breed of cattle and is characterised by facial deformities, an enlarged and floating abdomen containing considerable abdominal effusion, and hepatic fibrosis. Paunch calf syndrome is caused by a missense mutation in the KDM2B gene (c.2503G>A) that is thought to lead to an amino acid exchange (p.D835N). In this study, the prevalence of carriers of the mutant KDM2B allele (and thus the frequency of the allele) was assessed in selected subpopulations of Romagnola cattle. The prevalence of carriers within top-ranked Romagnola sires over the years 2007-2012 was 29.3% (allele frequency 14.6%). In young bull calves, 30.9% were carriers with an allele frequency of 15.4%

La madre di carta. Cordelia Edvardson ed Elisabeth Langgässer

    No full text
The work discusses Cordelia Edvardson's memories. The author is Elisabeth Langgässer's daughter, who survived as a young girl the camps at Theresienstadt and Auschwitz and was brought to Sweden after the war. The work focusses on the complexity of her familiy life, where she was the only one to be classified by the Nazi burocracy as "a full jewess"

    Georg Heyms Religion der Kunst

    No full text
The article focusses on Georg Heym's short writing " Versuch einer neuen Religion" (1909), in which art plays a central role. In this fragment, that the Author considered part of a conference, he sketches his idea of a new syncretic religion of immanence combining Jugendstil images and Nietzsche's thoughts on art and religion, in a vision of poetic community as renewal of life
