Stefani is pursuing a major in anthropology with a certificate in human biology. She has worked in the facial morphometrics lab focusing in analyzing 3D facial images of those with facial dysmorphologies stemming from genetic conditions. She is currently creating a literature review with the goal of submitting a peer-reviewed publication on the effect of DYRK1A haploinsufficiency on facial morphology, likely targeting the American Journal of Medical Genetics A . In addition to her research, Stefani has served roles in the University of Central Florida (UCF) as a Conference Assistant and a Resident Assistant, a Student Assistant at the UCF John C. Hitt library, and as Secretary and President of the UCF Lambda Alpha Anthropology Honor’s society. Upon graduation, Stefani hopes to attend graduate school and complete her graduate degree in biological anthropology. She hopes to one day become a primatologist and continue genetics related research.https://stars.library.ucf.edu/ramp_gallery/1103/thumbnail.jp

Effective use of communication and information technology: Bridging the skills gap

    No full text
There is a revolutionary culture change taking place within higher education in the United Kingdom. Part of this change is the adoption of new communication and information technologies (C&IT), such as the World Wide Web (WWW), for teaching, learning and assessment. Many academics have limited experience of the WWW for teaching and learning and perceive that the use of new technologies involves transferring traditional teaching methods into an electronic format, with no regard for the underlying pedagogical implications. Our current research with teaching staff has given insight into essential skills and competencies required to empower the use of C&IT bearing in mind the importance of the underlying pedagogy. In this paper we present an analysis of research carried out with academic staff members to determine the nature of staff and student skills needs regarding the use of C&IT in teaching and learning. This analysis is followed by a case study of how these findings were incorporated into the development and implementation of a staff development programme aimed at encouraging innovative teaching at the University of Strathclyde

The author scrutinizes a few philological problems towards a new edition of the Epigrams of Paul the Silentiary: he proposes a new interpretation of a verse (AP V 268,6), a defence of the MS tradition against a recent conjecture (AP V 275,7), a new emendation of a corrupt passage (AP VI 168,6) and finally a new analysis of an epigram whose attribution is uncertain (AP VII 600)

On the Steiner property for planar minimizing clusters. The isotropic case

    No full text
We consider the isoperimetric problem for clusters in the plane with a double density, that is, perimeter and volume depend on two weights. In this paper, we consider the isotropic case, in the parallel paper [V. Franceschi, A. Pratelli and G. Stefani, On the Steiner property for planar minimizing clusters. The anisotropic case, preprint (2020)] the anisotropic case is studied. Here we prove that, in a wide generality, minimal clusters enjoy the "Steiner property", which means that the boundaries are made by C-1,C-gamma regular arcs, meeting in finitely many triple points with the 120 degrees property
