IR study of isopropanol adsorption on haematite
The IR study shows that isopropanol interacts with haematite at IR beam temperature both as a physisorbed form, hydrogen bonded to basic sites of the surface, and as isopropoxide groups. At 423 K a decomposition of isopropoxide groups produces enolate anions of acetone. © 1982 Akadémiai Kiadó
Heterogeneous Catalytic Materials
The book is a systematic although synthetic treaty on solid state chemistry, surface chemistry and catalytic behavior of real solid catalyst
Vibrational frequency and coordination of molecular oxygen in surface and inorganic complexes
Qualitative MO models for side-on and end-on bonded dioxygen-metal complexes are proposed. The dependence of νOO on some structural parameters is discussed, and a comparison with literature data on surface and inorganic complexes is performed. © 1983
Differentiation of mono-oxo and polyoxo and of monomeric and polymeric vanadate, molybdate and tungstate species in metal oxide catalysts by IR and Raman spectroscopy
The expected and experimental features of vanadate, molybdate and tungstate species observed in inorganic compounds of different structures are discussed. In particular, fourfold coordinated species (truly tetrahedral and distorted tetrahedral), isolated and polymeric mono-oxo and dioxo metallyl species are discussed. On these bases, some of the data concerning surface species in oxide-supported oxides are also considered. The need to perform both IR and Raman experiments and, if possible, O-18/O-16 exchange experiments is also emphasized. Copyright (C) 2002 John Wiley Sons, Ltd
Infrared Characterization of the Hydrocarbon Intermediates In the Oxidation of Toluene and Xylenes Over Vanadia Titania Catalysts
The IR spectra of adsorbed species arising from the interaction of toluene, o-xylene, m-xylene and p-xylene vapours with the surface of a vanadia-titania selective oxidation catalyst are discussed. It is concluded that they are due to benzyl- and methylbenzyl-vanadium species arising from hydrogen abstraction from the hydrocarbon molecule. These species are thought to play a key role in the oxidation mechanism
