Australapatemon burti Miller 1923
Australapatemon burti (Miller, 1923)
Parasitic stage. cercaria (ITS2 sequence: NCBI’s Genbank acc. no. KU950451).

Host. Radix labiata (Rossmaessler) (voucher no. MLym- 116 in RMBH; COI sequence: NCBI’s Genbank acc. no. KU950449).

Location. Slovakia: Low Tatras, near Vihodna, 49°03'07" N, 19°54'56" E, 740 m alt., trout pond, 10.vii.2013, S. Sokolova leg.

Remarks. Accordance between our ITS2 sequence of A. burti cercaria from Slovakia and the sequence of adult fluke from a Mexican duck specimen is 100% (Figure 1). According to recent works, Lymnaea stagnalis (Linnaeus), Stagnicola palustris (Müller), Radix auricularia (Linnaeus), Radix peregra (Müller), Radix ovata (Draparnaud) and Bathyomphalus contortus (Linnaeus) are listed as host snail taxa for A. burti in Europe (Faltýnková et al. 2007, 2016; Soldánová et al. 2012). However, R. peregra and R. ovata are invalid nominal taxa (Schniebs et al. 2013, 2015). The snail specimens, which were identified under these names, may actually belong to at least four different but relatively morphologically similar biological species: R. labiata, Radix ampla (Hartmann), Radix lagotis (Schrank) and Radix balthica (Linnaeus) (Schniebs et al. 2013, 2015). Here we confirmed that R. labiata is a host of A. burti cercariae in Europe using the molecular approach to both the parasite and the host for the first time.

This study was supported by grants from the government of Russian Federation (nos. Eventi stressanti e supporto sociale nell'insorgenza di disturbi nevrotici: uno studio casi-controlli appaiati. / Life stress events and social support in neurotic disturbance onset: A matched pairs, case-control study
Studied the effects of life events and social support on the onset of neurotic disorders using a matched case-control study design. Human subjects: 30 male and female Italian adults (aged 18 yrs and older) (neuroses). 30 male and female Italian adults (aged 18 yrs and older) (population controls). All Ss were matched for age, sex, and socioeconomic status (SES). Neurotic disorders were diagnosed according to International Classification of Diseases-9 criteria and D. Goldberg and B. Blackwell's Psychiatric Overall Severity Rating Scale (1970). Control Ss were evaluated according to the Clinical Interview Schedule by Goldberg et al (1970). Life events and social support were evaluated using E. S. Paykel and S. P. Mangen's Life Events Scale (1980), Italian version by G. A. Fava and R. M. Osti (1982), and G. W. Brown and T. Harris' Social Support Interview (1978), Italian version by C. Zimmermann-Tansella et al (1989), respectively. The results were examined statistically using logistics analysis for matche
Contrast-enhanced ultrasonography features of hepatobiliary neoplasms in cats.
BACKGROUND: Contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) features of primary hepatobiliary neoplasms have been reported in dogs but no information is available in cats.
METHODS:Qualitative and quantitative features of bile duct adenomas (BDAs, n=20), bile duct carcinomas (BDCs, n=16), and hepatocellular carcinomas (HCCs, n=8) are described in 44 cats.
RESULTS: There was an overlap in CEUS qualitative features between different histotypes, both in wash-in and wash-out phases. Distinction between different neoplasms based only on the CEUS qualitative features was not possible. At peak of enhancement, the BDAs, BDCs and HCCs showed a large range of echogenicities, from hypoenhancement to hyperenhancement, in comparison to the liver parenchyma. Eight of 20 BDAs showed inhomogeneous hyperenhancement during wash-in, which is a feature reported as typical of malignant lesions in dogs. BDC had a significantly faster wash-in compared with both BDA and HCC but the diagnostic accuracy of all the included quantitative variables was only moderate. No significant differences in the wash-out quantitative features of BDA and BDC were evident.
CONCLUSION: There is poor evidence that CEUS may be used to distinguish between different primary hepatobiliary neoplasms in cat

Performance del GHQ-30 in un setting ambulatoriale psichiatrico: validazione con casi-controlli appaiati. / Performance of the GHQ-30 in a psychiatric ambulatory setting: A matched pairs case-control validity study
Studied the validity of an instrument for classifying psychiatric patients, using a matched case-control study design. Human subjects: 30 male and female Italian adults (aged 18 yrs and older) (neuroticism). 30 male and female Italian adults (aged 18 yrs and older) (population controls). All Ss completed the General Health Questionnaire-30 (GHQ-30), and differences between cases and controls were evaluated statistically and compared to results from other studies on Italian population groups. Sensitivity, specificity, and positive predictive value were determined according to Ss' age, sex, and socioeconomic status (SES). The gravity of symptoms was rated according to D. Goldberg and B. Blackwell's Psychiatric Overall Severity Rating Scale (1970). Control patients were evaluated according to the Clinical Interview Schedule by Goldberg et al (1970).
