Enterprise engineering using semantic technologies
Modern Enterprises are facing unprecedented challenges in every aspect of their businesses: from marketing research, invention of products, prototyping, production, sales to billing. Innovation is the key to enhancing enterprise performances and knowledge is the main driving force in creating innovation. The identification and effective management of valuable knowledge, however, remains an illusive topic. Knowledge management (KM) techniques, such as enterprise process modelling, have long been recognised for their value and practiced as part of normal business. There are plentiful of KM techniques. However, what is still lacking is a holistic KM approach that enables one to fully connect KM efforts with existing business knowledge and practices already in IT systems, such as organisational memories. To address this problem, we present an integrated three-dimensional KM approach that supports innovative semantics technologies. Its automated formal methods allow us to tap into modern business practices and capitalise on existing knowledge. It closes the knowledge management cycle with user feedback loops. Since we are making use of reliable existing knowledge and methods, new knowledge can be extracted with less effort comparing with another method where new information has to be created from scratch
Letter from David D. Lowman, to Warren Burger, Chairman, Bicentennial Celebration Constitution, August 22, 1986
Letter addressed to Chief Justice Warren Burger, (ret.), disputing Japanese American participation in military intelligence operations during World War II.The Japanese American Relocation Collection is composed of ephemera related to the relocation program during World War II. Items include the official government report of Manzanar Relocation Center, a photo album, post-war activism materials related to preserving and remembering the camps, various clippings, and documents. The strength of this collection is found in its many perspectives on the controversial relocation program and how it has been presented since World War II
Comparison of pricing of sewage collection and treatment in selected service areas
In the first part of the thesis the municipalities which were subject of the analysis of the construction costs of the waste water collection and treatment infrastructure were described. The addressed municipalities are: Brezovica, Logatec, Borovnica, Cerknica and Pivka. Different types of sewage collection disposal are briefly introduced as they were all considered as a viable option fort the planners of the whole sewage disposal and treatment\ud
system. In the second part of the thesis legal basis for planning and construction of the system as well as pricing mechanisms for sewage disposal and treatment are analysed. Data from the project documentation, municipality reports and business plans are presented and compared. The purpose of comparisons is to identify possible deviations between planned and realized costs and prices for sewage disposal and treatment. Existing prices for specific areas are shown in the last section of the thesis and the methodology for their calculation. The prices are compared and analysed with identification of subsidies in some areas. Standardized bills for the sewage disposal and treatment provide a reader a better understanding of the actual cost for the end user. In the conclusions the importance of adequate cost estimates in the early stages of the project development is underlined which is essential part of feasibility study

Acute Pancreatitis After a Meatless Burger in Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome
A 62-year-old woman with familial chylomicronemia syndrome (FCS) resulting from documented lipoprotein lipase deficiency presented with pancreatitis 48 hours after eating a plant-based burger with tomato and lettuce at a local restaurant. She had not previously eaten such a burger. She was diagnosed with FCS at age 12 after experiencing chronic pancreatitis since age 4. At this presentation her triglyceride levels were 1493 mg/dL and her lipase was 510 U/L (normal range 13-60). An abdominal computed tomography (CT) scan confirmed acute pancreatitis
Judicial and statutory definition of authority : selected case studies of the Burger court
Student willful misconduct is one of the major concerns of school officials. The loss of a day's Instruction because of student misconduct or because of discipline for misconduct impacts upon individual students, the school, and society. Teachers, administrators, and legislators have sought and continue to seek solutions to these problems. This study has investigated willful student misconduct and the punishments inflicted because of this misconduct. The researcher examined corporal punishment and exclusion from school as punishments for several acts of misconduct. The research included a close examination of eight cases decided by the Supreme Court of the United States while Warren Burger was Chief Justice. The purpose of this examination was to ascertain current school officials' authority over students as it was defined by the Burger Court
