Venetian Music Online is a scientific platform dedicated to research on music in Venice and its historical territories, and the history of Venetian musical culture in its European dimension.\ud
Conceived both as a collection of open-access studies, critical editions, databases and other digital materials (audio, video etc.), and as a receptacle for online contents in connection with the new Venetian Music Studies series published by Brepols (Turnhout), it aims to provide scholars with a useful and versatile tool for the dissemination of the results of their scientific activities.\ud
Proposals are peer-reviewed by members of the international editorial board

Il riconoscimento da parte di Schütz del proprio debito personale e artistico nei confronti di Giovanni Gabrieli, attestato dal compositore tedesco nella lettera di dedica delle "Symphoniae sacrae" stampate nel 1629, è uno solo dei tanti tributi indirizzati al maestro veneziano dai suoi allievi e ammiratori d'oltralpe. Questo studio vuole caratterizzare ciò che doveva essere l'esperienza artistica del giovane (e del meno giovane) Schütz come osservatore, ascoltatore e musicista pratico durante i suoi soggiorni veneziani
