Territorial systems with rural vocation, innovation and climate change: from the web an opportunity for the sustainability of well-being
Well-being of the territorial systems with rural vocation can be compromised by climate change, but they also can influence, both positively than negatively, the factors that determine climate change. Starting from this dichotomous vision of the relationship between climate change and rural development, this study focuses on the role that Internet and the web mar-keting strategies can develop in the mitigation and in the adaptation to climate change trough the spread of information on virtuous behaviour by individuals and firms. In such optics, the study provides a survey to evaluate the propensity of firms to use the web in order to promote responsible behaviour among the users of websites (suggesting virtuous behaviours) or to valorize their commitment in the fight against climate change
RISCHIO DI MERCATO E INCOME STABILISATION TOOL
Today, in addition to production risk, market risk poses the greatest threat to the stability of farmers' incomes. In order to respond more quickly to possible crisis situations, the proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council provides for the introduction of a tool (IST) on support of farm income.
While on the one hand the success of this tool among farmers depends on the degree of public participation in the financing, on the other hand, its validity and effectiveness is conditioned by the availability of timely and systematic accounting data at the firm level and the evaluation and following due consideration of the various production techniques, adopted on the basis of the different soil and climate conditions
WELL-BEING SUSTAINABILITY, TERRITORIAL DIMENSION AND MULTIFUNCTIONAL AGRICULTURE.
The sustainability is a key theme in the current debate at both a theoretical and practical level. In the discussions and experiences about sustainability there has been a need to deepen and integrate territorial issues as drivers of the processes of sustainable development. All this is especially true for rural economies whose level of development is closely linked to local resources. In this perspective, the work, after having deeply analyzed the role of the territorial dimension in the process of sustainable development, focuses on the development strategies of rural territorial systems and, in particular, on the multi-functional component of agriculture. The aim of this study is to reflect on the contribution that the model of multifunctional agriculture can offer to sustainable territorial development strategies, namely, the preservation of the territorial indentity, which is the main tool to support and not succumb to global competition
Sostenibilità del settore vitivinicolo, strategie di impresa e Identità territoriale
In the last years, the business strategies must not only be competitive but also sustainable, that are able to maintain or gain market share and, at the same time, contribute to the sustainability of the territorial reference system and support the social role of the enterprises.
Among the possible strategies for achieving sustainability in the wine sector, in this paper we will focus on the territory and in particular on the territorial identity.
In other words, it had been tried to find a variable that could have a close interrelationship with the three targets of sustainable competitive strategies: to provide a competitive advantage; to contribute to the sustainability of the territorial system and to give answers and to orient the consumers.
The territorial identity is now recognized as a competitive advantage for the success of the Italian wine supply. The relationship between wine and its territory of origin and the unique characteristics that the product takes on, are variables of strategic importance for maintaining and gaining market share .
To assess to the contribution to the sustainable territorial development, may be useful to interpret the identity as the sum of the distinctive territorial elements and observe the many testimonies of the relationship between the wine sector and and the protection of distinctive elements.
Finally, to give answers and to orient the society, is justified by the strong relationship between the intangible factors of the identity and the well-being of the society. In particular, the protection of identities increases the sense of belonging of the individuals to the model of economic, social and environmental of which are an integral part.
In light of these considerations, the paper aims to:
• define the characters to qualify as "excellences of wine sustainability" entrepreneurship realities which can contribute to the sustainability of the wine sector;
• identify some companies in Campania and Tuscany region, that focusing on the enhancement of territorial identities, may be classified as " excellences of wine sustainability
Green society - a conceptual framework of sustainability from a territorial perspective
The trade perspective of sustainability which is implemented today at global level is at the heart of the Environmental issues. Stakeholders who experience difficulties in competing at a territorial level, for an efficient management of social, economic and human capital, are led to using environmental dumping policies.
This strategy makes the natural capital unable to sustain the need for eco-system services linked to the three determinants of well-being sustainability.
The green society’s conceptual framework is, according to us, a sustainable solution, under four conditions:
1. the implementation of Environmental empowerment;
2. global environmental rules;
3. fielding of strategies of non-homologation of territorial systems,
4. give voice to particular environmental stakeholders through non-profit organizations that operate in the environmental field.
In the present work, the thesis that will be submitted to a general reflection is precisely that the Green Society is the answer to the Environmental issue. It should prevent it from becoming more and more limiting in pursuing the new project of society, in territorial systems put in crisis by global competition
Innovation, quality and marketing manager in the food industry
The agri-food enterprises are more and more aware of their responsibilities and their social role and they require the development of innovative marketing strategies, based on the principles of sustainabi-lity and characterized by a strong orientation to the society. Starting from the importance of innovation for the sustainable development in socioeconomic and environmental terms, the study analyzes the links between sustainable innovation and food quality focusing on the communication innovations. In this regard, the study provides an overview on the evolution of marketing theory (ethical, social, responsible and sustainable), underlining the need to push also the agri-food system towards a responsible valorization as an innovative form of sustainable communication. Finally, it provides useful insights to policy makers and stakeholders on the tools required to foster and support sustainable development of agri-food sector and to create synergies between public and private interests
IMS: The New Generation of Internet-Protocol-Based Multimedia Services
Legacy networks, both fixed and mobile, which were originally designed for voice communications, are progressively migrating to new infrastructures that promise to revolutionize the services offered. In this paper, we will cover this new generation of personal communication services, with an emphasis on the family of Internet protocol (IP)-based multimedia subsystem (IMS)-aided infrastructure that relies on the session initiation protocol (SIP). As a benefit, the end users will enjoy a new generation of personal communications services that are accessible anywhere and anytime. These services are timedia subsystem (IMS)-aided infrastructure that relies on the directly related to the end users rather than to their diverse devices. It is anticipated that the new deployments of next-of the IMS technology. generation networks (all-IP based) will accelerate the adoptio
Choriocapillaris flow impairment surrounding geographic atrophy correlates with disease progression
PurposeTo evaluate the correlation between the choriocapillaris (CC) flow alterations around geographic atrophy (GA) and the GA yearly growth rate (yGR) in patients with dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD).MethodsWe retrospectively reviewed and analyzed spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) and SD-OCT angiography images of consecutive patients with GA acquired using the Cirrus OCT at the Doheny Eye Centers between 2015 and 2017. All eligible patients had one 6 x 6 mm OCTA scan acquired during the first visit (considered as baseline) and two fovea-centered 512 x 128 macular cubes (6 x 6 mm) acquired at baseline and after a minimum of 12 months.Main outcome measuresThe fundus images from the OCT volumes were used to manually delineate the GA area and calculate the yGR after square root transformation. The en-face angiogram at the level of the CC was analyzed for the percentage of flow voids (FV) outside the atrophic lesion (FVOUT) and in the para- and peri-atrophy regions (FV500 and FV1000 respectively; two concentric 500 μm wide rings around the atrophy edge). These values, together with the difference between FV500 and FV1000 (ΔFV), were then correlated with the corresponding yGR.ResultsThirty-three eyes of 23 patients were eligible for the analysis. The mean yGR was 0.23 ± 0.17 mm/years.At baseline, the mean FVOUT was 41.86 ± 2.71%, while FV500 and FV1000 were 46.4 ± 4.17% and 42.51 ± 2.65% respectively. The mean ΔFV was 3.89 ± 2.6%. While in the univariable analysis, the yGR was significantly associated with FV500 and with ΔFV (both p ConclusionsOur study reports a correlation between the CC flow impairment around the atrophic lesions and their yGR in patients with GA. If replicated in future longitudinal studies, the choriocapillaris FV in the para-and peri-atrophy regions may prove to be useful parameters for evaluating the prognosis of these eyes.</div
Perceptions of intellectual property: a review
In “The right to good ideas: patents and the poor”, The Economist depicts two driving forces in the contemporary discourse on IP and globalization. The one is interested in advancing the knowledge economy, an approach based on the belief that knowledge is the driving factor behind economic growth. The other resides on a belief that IP is a major means to advance the process of globalization. While the former is strongly motivated by new economic growth theory, as for example advanced by Stanford professor Paul Romer, the latter is based on typical anti-globalization arguments, such as for example the position that the IP system helps multinational companies to build up monopolies to the detriment of the poor, drives small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and local business in developing countries out of business and increases prices for consumer products, be they pharmaceuticals or software. The purpose of this review is to help understand the current discourse on intellectual property, to grasp underlying themes, assumptions and connotations associated with the term “IP”, so as to identify paths leading to a more comprehensive understanding of IP and the opportunities and pitfalls it may provide
“Corporate System" and Green Economy in Campania region: a collaborative platform for the excellences
The different territorial systems are committed to redefining their development strategies both in virtue of the economic, social, environmental and generational demands of their citizens, and in relation to the needs of companies to be on the market and obtain competitive advantages that can be defined sustainable both for themselves and for society. In this regard, the implementation of a set of policies and tools aimed at encouraging and guiding knowledge system, defining the market rules, guiding demand and planning strategies to preserve territorial identity, is the path on which to invest to support the creation of a Green Society, in which, a system of "green oriented" enterprises represents a strategic lever for sustainable development of the territory. With this in mind, this paper aims to analyze the role of a collaborative and informative platform regarding the excellencies of environmental sustainability and to verify its feasibility in planning for sustainable growth strategies for the Campania Region
