carePlan B
The purpose of this report is to determine the influence and significance of the ambient assisted living tool known as carePlan. Specifically its impact on its users in nursing homes both residents and staff. Former advertising agency turned assisted living specialist e-mergency is the company behind carePlan. Their solutions aim at making the lives easier for its users and to give them a sense of dependency by helping them with everyday tasks like ordering dinner. We've interviewed two of their staff members to get a grasp of their considerations developing the carePlan tablet. In order to determine carePlans impact on its users we’ve also interviewed two nursing home residents as well as their manager. By transcribing both interviews our plan is to analyse their opinions and their viewpoints to acquire a better understand of carePlan. We will clarify our findings using critical psychology to illustrate carePlans actual impact on its users. At the same time we will illuminate e-mergency’s considerations in the viewpoint of critical psychology. The purpose of this report is to determine the influence and significance of the ambient assisted living tool known as carePlan. Visualize Relevance: A design and research based project about the visual experience of Relevance festival
This paper examines the influence of two light installations on the experience of music, within the frame of the Relevance Festival. This is done by asking: how can we reinforce the experience of music at Relevance Festival? We sought to gain an understanding of “the experience” in order to better understand what is essential for a good experience. Methodologically this has been done through autoethnographic self reflective observations, observing our two designs in action and the audience movement and reactions. The observations have been supported with research interviews with the organizers and experts within the field. This paper concludes that the two designs are an option to the solution to reinforce the music experience of Relevance Festival
Project in Innovation
AbstractThe project” Project in Innovation”, takes offset from a Human Resource perspective I the Google organization, and explores how true innovation plays out in real life through a comparing analysis, based on an interview with an employee. The project analyzes if the organization has a certain approach with regards to innovation, if there are specific requirements for individual’s employees.Since innovation is perceived as abstract and difficult to define precisely, it ́s clarified what the phenomenon contains in a specific work context at Google. A hypothetic deductive method is used from the assumption, that Google is a company including innovation I their management strategy. The theoretical basis is Chris Argyris action theory in organizations and creativity professor Lene Tanggaard’s views on creativity and innovation in the workplace
Local goverment planing of environmental behavior
This bachelor report use a problem- and solution- oriented approach on the topic environmental planning. The issues that arise when citizen’s behavioral changes become the subject of planning, is the main area ofstudy. Through the use of the environmental and psychological academic discipline, it’s being examinedwhich opportunities environmental planning in a local municipality context has for addressing, and workingwith behavioral changes. The study is based upon the research question:How are the citizen's behavior incorporated as a part of Copenhagen municipality’s environmentalplanning in the Local Agenda 21-strategy, and which opportunities exists for adding new perspectivesto the strategy, so its objectives better can be achieved in practice? The study is based upon af fluid approach with ongoing shifts between a problem-solving and problem-orientedapproach, as well as methodological approaches. The report is divided into four parts, which createsan integrative and interdisciplinary approach, inspired by Ken Wilber’s quadrant model. Furthermore, thereport uses the scientific theory; Mixed Methods, and have an abductive research approach. The overall contribution of the study is that there are both psychological and socio-technical organizationalbarriers when facilitating behavioral changes. However, the barriers can be avoided through a planningpractice, which takes these into account. Through the document analysis and a theoretical perspective,it is estimated that the Local Agenda 21-strategy does not fully meets its potential for achieving its statedobjectives, as the strategy does not contain concrete or sufficient tools for the citizens to attain to sustainablebehavioral changes. In 2019, the municipality of Copenhagen have to present a new Local Agenda 21 strategy. In the newstrategy it is recommended that the municipality comprehend the psychological behavioral barriers, the potentialrisks of backfiring initiatives, and incorporate concrete examples of useful tools to attain to behavioralchanges. This study recommends that these tools include the use of; social communities, nudging, feedback, gamification, competition, positive framing and storytelling. Furthermore, it is recommended that the tools78 / 84are used in combination, as they can complement each other's deficiencies and ensure that initiatives, wherethe tools are being used, affects a broader target group. Finally, it is pointed out that there is a need to study the effects of the tools closer in practice, bothindividually and in combination. In a design perspective, the tools can be seen as a prototype which requiresfurther iterations and tests in a real life setting, as well as a better connection to other environmental plansin the municipality of Copenhagen, and the psychological knowledgebas
IPads i børnehaver
This project investigates which possibilities and limits the use of the iPad creates in terms of the pedagogical work. The project also contains a description of the iPad as a technological device. Furthermore critical psychology will be used as the theoretical background of our project. Throughout the interviews with a kindergarten assistant and the head leader of a kindergarten, themes as social interaction and fixed boundaries will be clarified. To analyze the empirical data, analytical tools such as the method of qualitative interview will be used. The head leader and the kindergarten assistant will be a part of the project as co-researchers. The principle of the co-researcher is only used in a partial way, since we were unable to fully include the interviewed individuals in the design of the thesis statement. By a comparative composition, we will throughout a discussion dispose the two kindergartens, and compare them to each other. Based on the account of the analysis and the discussion, it is possible to confirm, that the use of iPads in kindergartens creates far more possibilities than limitations for the pedagogues. This project investigates which possibilities and limits the use of the iPad creates in terms of the pedagogical work. Exit form a right-wing group. Case: Ku KLux Klan
This paper is dedicated to investigating our research question: which identity challenges individuals face, when exiting a right radical group and how these exit processes can be improved? Our investigation will exemplified centering the Ku Klux Klan as a right-wing group and therefore our case in this paper. To answer our research question we take base in two casestudies, which is obtained through qualitative interviews with Jvonne Hubbard and TM Garret, who both have experienced exit from a right-wing environment. We analyze and discuss throughout our paper. Our paraphernalia to analyse our casestudies are Harrés and Langenhoves positioning theory, Richard Jenkins social identity, Tore Bjørgos EXIT-process and Rory McVeighs right-wing theory. With the above standing theories we analyse our informants childhood, their identity development and how their development have been affected by their personal associations with Ku Klux Klan. By doing so we get an insight on their personal EXIT-process and which complication that followed. Based on our analysis we discuss different responsibilities regarding exit-processes and how we improve the processes the best way possible. Based on all mentioned above we conclude that a initiative will be required that educate societies representatives as well as informing the general society, who may otherwise help stigmatize juvenile rabid behavior and refers youths towards right-wing groups. This initiative and de-stigmatization cannot succeed over a short period of time, but it's something society must strive for throughout its development and in the selection of representatives
Throughout the last decades the cross-border migration has been increasing. This pushes up the agenda of how to ensure a society's stability and cohesion despite cultural diversity. The Danish government emphasize that Denmark is facing problems in terms of integration. But how can these problems be solved? This project springs from the search for a bottom-up initiative that works actively to further integration. It is based on a case study of the social enterprise Ishtar – De Etniske Rødstrømper. Ishtar seeks to improve integration and counter social isolation through work. The target group is Middle Eastern, middle-aged women. Many of these women have no education and have limited Danish linguistic skills. The study examines Ishtar's work and how their three objects clauses is mirrored in their daily practice. Furthermore, it analyses which understanding of integration lies behind the work and how the fact that the enterprise started as a bottom-up initiate is reflected in its structure. The study also refers to what the work means to the women who are employed by Ishtar. The study is based on three semi-structured interviews with Manal Jacob (founder and daily leader of Ishtar), Klaus Mygind (committee member) and two women, who works voluntarily in Ishtar. These interviews are analysed based on the theoretical work by Pierre Bourdieu and Robert D. Putnam regarding social capital. Putnam's terms bonding and bridging are used to throw light on the networks created through Ishtar's work. In addition to this, empowerment theory is used to analyse how Ishtar seeks to empower the group of women and thereby increase their freedom of action. The study concludes that Ishtar used Jacob's network and the local community on Indre Nørrebro in its establishment. Ishtar’s work is based on pluralistic understanding of integration. Their objects clauses are reflected in their work. They work actively to strengthen the women's self-esteem through empowerment, and to add to their social capital e.g. by building bridge between them and ethnic Danes. A connection between bonding and bridging is found in Ishtar's work, where bonding provides a basis for bridging. Furthermore, it is concluded that the women attach great importance to the internal solidarity in Ishtar, and that they develop their skills and qualification through the work
Min postkasse bliver digital - Et projekt om ældre og IT.
This report examines how elderly people learn how to use the Internet. The Danish Digitaliseringsstyrelse has made the decision that all Danish citizens have to use a digital mailbox by the end of 2014. Greve municipality has in corporation with ældresagen taken the initiative to the project MIT-ældre, which arranges Internet cafés for the elderly in Greve municipality. In these Internet cafés the elderly is being guided by volunteers in how to use their computers. The study investigates which parts of the lessons the old people think is good and which parts that doesn’t work good for them. The underlining basis of this study is founded in three interviews of four users of different Internet cafés. This report will show an analysis of how the old people learn the best according to Knud Illeris. On the basis of this analysis the report will try to answer how old people can be helped with their computers and which issues the volunteer has to have in mind when they guide the users of the Internet cafés. Furthermore there will be a discussion of the theory in this report to see how it is in accordance with the empirical knowledge with focus on the motivation to participate in the Internet cafés.This report examines how elderly people learn how to use the Internet. Children's social relations in gaming
The purpose of this report is to examine how children experience social relations during gaming through a post-phenomenological perspective. The computer as a technology have affected our daily life and has since its beginning been under constant development. One side of computer development is the development of software for hobbies and spare time. Especially the development of the computer games has in newer time effected the use of the computer and the way that humans act when using the technology. With the development of the internet and the increased availability the online gaming aspect of computer gaming has taken over.Social relations are important for children's well-being and for their relations as they grow older. Often, we see social relations described as something that is anchored in the physical world which leads to the understanding that online gaming is not a social activity.[...]This report concludes an importance regarding the experience and understanding of the child and their need for a social relation during gaming whether it be physical or online. The children describe gaming as a place where they can communicate and be with friends or a place for more serious tactical training with teammates. Some of the children also describe the possibility of finding new friends through online gaming, were others saw the lack of physical acquaintance as a hindering for the forming of friendship
