Hegel, la sinistra hegeliana, Marx
Natural is the interest in Hegel in a magazine founded by Gentile; not so the interest in the Hegelian Left and Marx, but also present in continuity with the Marxian essays of the founder in his youth and with the presence of K. Löwith among the contributors in the 1930s. Hegel is considered
here only through historical contributions about him; Marx also through the strenuous discussions on Marxism, almost inseparable with us from study of the author. From the most far-reaching articles of the journal’s roaring years to the more limited specialized or actualizing articles of today, the not always encouraging mutation of the profession of the philosophy scholar emerges here from the issues of the «Giornale» in the very
particular perspective of the recurring episodes of death and rebirth within the tradition called, with an ugly compound name, Hegelo-Marxism
Arabia e Wahhabiti nella "Geografia" di Carl Ritter
Carl Ritter’s Erdkunde is mainly studied today with regard to its General Intro- duction (18222) which contains the theoretical principles adopted by the Ger- man geographer. Little attention is given however to the effective application that the above mentioned principles should find in some specific sections of the work. The two volumes concerning the Arabian peninsula (1846-47) offer a ty- pical example of Ritter’s chiefly historical and man oriented approach to his dis- cipline. Ancient and modern sources on Arabia and its people are thoroughly discussed by the author also in the light of his own religious and political beliefs. A special interest is devoted here to Ritter’s outlook on the Wahabees, who were causing in his times a crisis of Islam, right in conjunction with the early Euro- pean colonization of the Middle-East
Fra hegelismo tradizionalismo e orientalismo. Hinrichs Windischmann e i diari di viaggio di Ulrich Jasper Seetzen
Abstract: Between Hegelianism Traditionalism and Orientalism. Hinrichs Windischmann and Ulrich J. Seetzen’s Travel Journal. H.F.W. Hinrichs’ contribution to the posthumous edition of the travel journal written by the Oriental explorer U. J. Seetzen is an almost unknown aspect in the life of this disciple of Hegel. On the basis of three un- published letters by Hinrichs (1827), the Author endeavors to reconstruct Hinrichs’ role and to show that it can be fully understood only in the light of his critical revision of Enlightenment convictions in matter of religion, ideas also professed by Seetzen. In this respect, Hinrichs did not simply follow Hegel’s teaching. He was also influenced by Maistre’s thinking by the way of C.J.H. Windischmann, who at that time was trying to combine Maistre’s views with the philosophical system of Hegel
Hegel, il barone d'Eckstein e l'«ala erudita della Congrégation».
Abstract: In Hegel’s "Lectures on the philosophy of History" and in a review devoted by the same author to Görres’ Munich conferences about universal history we find two references to Baron Ferdinand von Eckstein, which place him with Friedrich Schlegel, Lamennais and the orientalists Jean-Pierre Abel-Rémusat and Jean-Antoine Saint-Martin among the supporters of the belief in a pre-Christian revelation of the essential truths of Catholicism, whose traces could still be found in the sacred books of the main religions of Far East. Through an examination of Eckstein’s ideas, as they are exposed in his Parisian periodical «Le Catholique», but also in the Bavarian «Eos», and through a reconstruction of Eckstein’s frequentation of the intellectual and political circle called "Congrégation de Marie" (a semi-secret society, working in support of Villèle’s government) during the Restoration in France, this essay aims to discover the philosophical background of Hegel’s polemics and to illustrate some connections between the rising French Orientalism and the counterevolutionary thought in that period

L'etica dello sterminio e i suoi volonterosi attori
The measure of responsibility of the German people for the extermination of the Jews during the Nazi rule, the characters and motivations of the perpetrators, their ideology, the socio-economic and military factors are the subject of an articulated literature. Which is inclined, however, to put in the background the question of individual freedom to commit or prevent atrocities, or to refrain from participating actively to them. To this topic a new Italian study is devoted, inspired by the views of Hannah Arend
Delio Cantimori e Johann Gustav Droysen.
The placement of Herbart within the development of the most recent philosophy represented a challenge for Hegel's disciples interested in the history of their discipline, since the had kept quiet about that antagonist in his writings and in his lecture courses. Gabler, Hinrichs, Michelet, Rosenkranz and Erdmann have tried their hand at the enterprise in various ways and have obtained conflicting results. It thus happened that Herbart remained for the first two a philosopher of reflection, in the manner of Kant and Fichte, that Michelet classified him among the immediate followers of Kant as the academic successor of Schulze, that Rosenkranz outlined him as a philosopher of objectivity in antithesis to Fichtian subjectivism, where only Erdmann has shown to recognize him as the author of a system of thought potentially alternative to that of Hegel
