Investigation of a novel elastic-mechanical wheel transmission under light duty conditions
A novel 'Elastic Engagement and Friction Coupled' (EEFC) mechanical transmission has been proposed recently in which the power is transmitted through elastic tines on the surfaces of the driving and driven wheels. This study introduces new variations of EEFC mechanical wheel transmission ( broadly emulating a gear-pair) with small contact areas for use under light duty conditions. Because a drive of this type inevitably has a strong statistical component, theoretical analysis of the geometrical and mechanical relationships has been attempted by using linear modeling and empirical weightings. Several simple forms of the EEFC wheel transmission are tested under limiting ( slip) conditions for transmission force and transmission coefficients against normal load. Normalized standard deviation of these parameters is used to summarize noise performance. Models and experiments are in reasonable agreement, suggesting that the model parameters reflect important design considerations. EEFC transmissions appear well suited to force regimes of a few tenths of a newton and to have potential for use in, for example, millimetre-scale robots

Impelementasi Sistem Informasi Penjualan, Pembelian dan Stok Kontrol pada PT. Bing Han Indonesia
Factors contributing to creep strengthening in discontinuously-reinforced materials
There have been several experimental investigations of the creep behavior of materials with discontinuous reinforcement. For these materials, logarithmic plots of the steady-state or minimum strain rate against the applied stress usually reveal significant curvature such that the stress exponent, determined from the slope of the line, increases with decreasing stress. Plots of this nature are usually interpreted by invoking a threshold stress, ?o and replacing the applied stress, ?, with an effective stress, defined as (???o). This paper examines the implications of this approach using published creep data for several aluminum-based materials. It is shown that the introduction of an effective stress leads to a stress exponent that is similar to that observed in the unreinforced matrix material but, nevertheless, the creep rates in the reinforced materials are often significantly slower than in the matrix. This difference is examined with reference to the occurrence of load transfer and substructure strengthening
Improving the high-temperature mechanical properties of a magnesium alloy by equal-channel angular pressing
Equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP) was conducted on a Mg–0.55% Zr alloy at a temperature of 513 K. It is shown that processing by ECAP refines the grain size from ~75 to ~8.6 ?m. Tensile testing was performed at temperatures from 473 to 773 K and at initial strain rates from 10?5 to 10?2 s?1 using specimens in the as-received condition and after processing by ECAP through six passes. There is a higher strength in the as-received Mg–Zr alloy than in the Mg–Zr alloy after ECAP for six passes at a temperature of 513 K. The results show the tensile elongations are higher after ECAP and a maximum elongation of ~380% was achieved in the as-pressed material at 773 K using an initial strain rate of 4.2 × 10?5 s?1. The strain rate sensitivity for the as-pressed alloy was estimated as ~0.17 and the activation energy were intermediate between the values for grain boundary and lattice diffusion in magnesium
Achieving enhanced tensile ductility in an Al-6061 composite processed by severe plastic deformation
Tests were conducted on a metal matrix composite with an Al-6061 alloy as the matrix material and with 10 vol.% of alumina particulates as the reinforcement. For comparison purposes, some additional tests were also conducted on the unreinforced Al-6061 alloy. Processing of both materials was conducted by imposing severe plastic deformation through equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP). It is shown that ECAP is effective in refining the grain sizes of both materials to ~300 nm. Tensile tests were conducted at room temperature and at elevated temperatures to evaluate the mechanical properties after ECAP. The results show there is a potential for achieving high ductilities in the composite after processing by ECAP
