Loop Tiling in the Presence of Exceptions
Exceptions in OO languages provide a convenient mechanism to deal with anomalous situations. However, many of the loop optimization techniques cannot be applied in the presence of conditional throw statements in the body of the loop, owing to possible cross iteration control dependences. Compilers either ignore such throw statements and apply traditional loop optimizations (semantic non-preserving), or conservatively avoid invoking any of these optimizations altogether (inefficient). We define a loop optimization to be xception-safe, if the optimization can be applied even on (possibly) exception throwing loops, in a semantics preserving manner. In this paper, we present a generalized scheme to do exception-safe loop optimizations and present a scheme of optimized exception-safe loop tiling (oESLT), as a specialization thereof.
oESLT tiles the input loops, assuming that exceptions will never be thrown. To ensure the semantics preservation (in case an exception is thrown), oESLT generates code to rollback the updates done in the advanced iterations (iterations that the unoptimized code would not have executed, but executed speculatively by the oESLT generated code) and safely-execute the delayed iterations (ones that the unoptimized code would have executed, but not executed by the code generated by oESLT). For the rollback phase to work efficiently, oESLT identifies a minimal number of elements to backup and generates the necessary code. We implement oESLT, along with a naive scheme (nESLT, where we backup every element and do a full rollback and safe-execution in case an exception is thrown), in the Graphite framework of GCC 4.8. To help in this process, we define a new program region called ESCoPs (Extended Static Control Parts) that helps identify loops with multiple exit points and interface with the underlying polyhedral representation. We use the popular PolyBench suite to present a comparative evaluation of nESLT and oESLT against the unoptimized versions

Authors\u27 Moral Rights in Non-European Nations: International Agreements, Economics, \u3cem\u3eMannu Bhandari\u3c/em\u3e, and the Dead Sea Scrolls
This note undertakes to examine authors\u27 moral rights in non-European countries. Section I will provide a brief comparative description of moral rights. Section II will discuss the treatment of moral rights in the Berne convention and the TRIPS agreement. Section III will then examine moral rights law in India and Israel, and two important cases from these nations, Mannu Bhandari v. Kala Vikas Pictures from India, and Qimron v. Shanks, from Israel. Mannu Bhandari deals with an author\u27s moral right in the film adaptation of her work, Qimron with the moral rights of a scholar in the reconstruction of one of the Dead Sea Scroll texts. Finally, Section IV will discuss the economic rationale for moral rights and the role of moral rights in non-European countrie
Case studies in physiology: Nocturnal cardiorespiratory adaptive differences between an Italian trekker and a Nepali guide
The cardiopulmonary system is a physiological cornerstone in the adaptive response to hypobaric hypoxia. Portable devices make it feasible nowadays to precisely assess the response to high altitude (HA) expeditions. In this study, we investigated breathing and arterial blood pressure responses during a Himalayan trek from 665 m to 4,780 m altitude in a white European (Italian) sojourner and a native Nepali (Tamang) guide, both healthy males. Resting diurnal and nocturnal data were acquired by means of ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) and sleep apnea monitoring. We found an increase in the mean diurnal arterial blood pressure. Nocturnal blood pressure dipping was confirmed at all altitudes. Oxygen saturation decreased at altitude, with its additional nocturnal fall. Sleep apneic episodes, present in the Italian only, increased with altitude. We conclude that the nocturnal, more than diurnal, cardiorespiratory function is affected by HA hypoxia. Further studies should address the role of ethnicity, medications, and sociodemographic factors in the cardiorespiratory responses to hypobaric hypoxia
Byznys plán welness hotelu v Karnatace, Indie
Cílem této práce je popsat vývoj luxusního hotelového wellness resortu s obchodním jménem Shaila, který se nachází v Hodake, Karnataka, Indie. Plán je rozdělen na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část obsahuje přehled hotelového průmyslu a segmentace trhu, analyzuje podnikatelské prostředí a vysvětluje typy analýz použitých v plánu. Praktická část aplikuje teoretické koncepty v praxi a obsahuje shrnutí, popis společnosti, analýzu odvětví a trhu, marketingový mix, provozní plán, strukturu a tým společnosti a finanční analýzu. Analýza trhu vychází ze sekundárních zdrojů dat, která naznačují vysokou poptávku po luxusní a ekologické turistice mezi domácími i zahraničními cestovateli v Indii. SWOT analýza hodnotí silné a slabé stránky, příležitosti a hrozby hotelu. Tři scénáře zahrnuté do finanční analýzy ukazují, že hotel je rentabilní a ziskový.This thesis aims to describe the development of a luxury hotel resort spa named Shaila, located in Hodake, Karnataka, India. The plan is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part provides an overview of the hotel industry and market segmentation, analyses the business environment, and explains the types of analyses used in the plan. The practical part applies the theoretical concepts in practice, covering the executive summary, company profile, industry and market analysis, marketing mix, operational plan, company structure and team, and financial analysis. The market analysis is based on secondary data sources, which suggest high demand for luxury and eco-tourism among domestic and foreign travellers in India. A SWOT analysis assesses the hotel's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The three scenarios in the financial analysis demonstrate that the hotel is both viable and profitable
Growth and liver histology of Channa punctatus exposed to a common biofertilizer
Mustard oil cake (MOC) is widely used as biofertilizer in the field of agriculture and aquaculture. Channa punctatus was exposed to 0.42 g.L−1 sublethal concentration for 4, 7, 14, 21 and 28 days. Due to such exposure, body growth and histological changes in liver were observed. It was revealed that weight, length and breadth of fish were gradually increased with the days of exposure in compare to control fish, whereas, liver showed an increase in sinusoidal space and lipidosis during early days, followed by a recovery from the stress of MOC on the 28th day
