    No full text
This paper aims at analysing different discourse strategies used in order to typify feminine stereotypes in Scudery’s Femmes Illustres. The author investigates the texts of the different harangues in order to discover which feminine models are present in the literary texts, searching for lexical and morpho-syntactic devices used by Scudéry to describe the heroines of the harangues. The portraits of Scudery’s heroines is compared to the contemporary XVIIth century French literature on women condition ; the author focuses her attention on the final issue of the harangues, trying to verify the possible correlation between feminine stereotypes and rhetorical expression devices.

The aim of this paper is to investigate the “countless gazes” Heinrich Böll devoted to the city of Rome in 1961, during his residential fellowship at the German Academy ‘Villa Massimo’. Böll’s views of the “eternal city” – which reveal unexpected contacts with Bachmann’s perspective – do not involve the canonized and iconic beauties of Rome, but rather the contrasts between richness and poverty. The German author points out – through an optical device focused on the marginal aspects – the movements, the chromatic range, and also the “aesthetics of human being”, which characterize Rome

No full text
This paper focuses on the presence and the role of terminological metaphors in wine-tasting texts and discourses. The author analyses the strategies of creation of metaphorical terms, as well as their function in languages for special purposes. The paper presents an investigation on a group of metaphorical terms in wine-tasting terminology, based on metaphorical concepts such as “wine is a person”, “wine is a building”, “wine is a textile”, and analyses in the detail their occurrences in different text and discourse genres (dictionaries and glossaries, wine-tasting reports...) in order to discover if and to what extent such metaphors are universal and definitely lexicalised in specialised language use and professional communities. The analysis focuses on a contrastive approach and different languages are analysed, most notably French, Italian and English terminology.

Correction for “Turn-on fluorescent glucose transport bioprobe enables wash-free real-time monitoring of glucose uptake activity in live cells and small organisms” by Monica S. Hensley et al., RSC Chem. Biol., 2025, 6, 987–995, https://doi.org/10.1039/D4CB00239C. The authors regret that two contributors, Micaela Rayne Geborkoff and Professor Dr Thomas Werner, were inadvertently omitted from the original author list of this article. Both individuals made significant contributions to the research reported. Micaela Rayne Geborkoff was involved in the design, planning, and execution of the Drosophila experiments, specifically in the growth and treatment of fruit fly larvae. Professor Dr Thomas Werner provided laboratory resources and supervision, and played a key role in the experimental design and execution of the in vivo work, particularly contributing to the results presented in Fig. 7
