Title of the selection by the Armstrong-Hampton Nonet is “Goldwyn Stomp,” As confirmed by Samuel Goldwyn test acetates (see REEL No. ET-21). See also further comment on those aoetates on REEL No. ET-21. In terms of complete or partial renditions, titles in which Benny Goodman participated are shown correctly above, and on REEL No. ET-21. These details differ in minor degree from those shown in “BG-OTR.”Connor DR (Donald R.) Benny Goodman: Listen to His Legacy.

    No full text
Benny Goodman represents the most important clarinetist that he has given classical jazz and on which he has based his contemporary colleagues Buddy De Franco, Ken Peplowski or Eddie Daniels. In this research we propose to deepen their language through the transcription and analysis of their solos at the same time that we develop a methodological proposal of analysis for the type of melodic-harmonic improvisation on harmonic-formal structures. The article consists of two parts that integrate: the justification of the methodology used and its application in the analysis of the improvisations of Benny Goodman as a result of the investigation
