Da questa ricerca avrà origine uno dei suoi scritti più celebri, Coming of Age in Samoa, analizzato nel saggio Margaret Mead e l’antropologia della “libertà umana”. Dubbi, timori e incertezze fanno da sfondo a questa sua prima esperienza,
insieme ad una non troppo velata critica nei confronti di un approccio
accademico eccessivamente teorico che non preparava realmente i
giovani alle esperienze sul campo e alle difficoltà che inevitabilmente
avrebbero affrontato. Il tema dell’addestramento del ricercatore
divenne una preoccupazione costante nella vita professionale di
Mead che non solo si occupò personalmente della formazione dei suoi
allievi, anche da un punto di vista dell’apprendimento delle nuove
tecnologie e degli strumenti più idonei alla ricerca antropologica, ma
spesso li sovvenzionò con i proventi delle sue pubblicazioni

Get PDFThe essay is inspired by the works of Frantz Fanon, Martinican psychiatrist and revolutionary man,
prematurely disappeared in 1961, who became, in Italy too, between the years 1968 and 1970, an icon
of the youth protest movement, of the anti-racist organizations and of the liberation movements.
His short but intense life developed between a theoretic production (on the psychiatry of the colonised
subject and on racism) and his personal political commitment for the liberation of colonized countries.
He supported, and became its spokesman, the Algerian National Liberation Front during the Algerian
War.
The recent re-printing of some of his works and the large quantity of foreign articles published have
been the occasion to reflect on the matters raised by the psychiatrist on racism, on decolonisation
processes and neo-capitalism, on ethnical wars, on violence and divisions which showed, and still
show today, a deep malaise of the society regarding the presence of the alterity, the role played by
social sciences and, particularly, the anthropological ethnography and its interest/indifference towards
violence issues

No full textQuesto volume accoglie, principalmente, gli Atti del Seminario Immagine dell’alterità nei media, nelle arti e nella percezione collettiva, che ha avuto luogo lo scorso maggio a Palermo, nell’ambito del Ciclo di Seminari “Valorizzazione delle conoscenze: incontri con i visiting Professors”, realizzato nel contesto degli accordi Erasmus che il Dipartimento di Scienze psicologiche, pedagogiche dell’esercizio fisico e della formazione intrattiene con studiosi dell’Università bulgara di Blagoevgrad. The new trends in the social sciences emphasize, in fact, an increasingly accentuated gap between the nuclear family, a union between "the social and the legal" and a multitude of new family models, a synthesis of choices and assumptions of responsibility in the perspective of care and of the well-being of the other.
There are numerous studies that in the most recent period investigate the transformation of the family, an institution present in all human societies. Subject analyzed by different disciplines and with multiple cuts, it has represented a cornerstone of anthropological reflection, since its emergence at the end of the nineteenth century, as well as sociology and psychology; today it is a much debated topic also in social and political spheres for the many questions that its "evolution" in our context has entailed and for the repercussions on a social, economic and ethical level
