Per avvicinarsi al pensiero di questo autore, il presente volume ne propone, in nuova o prima versione italiana, alcuni dei testi teoricamente più rappresentativi e controversi. Dalla "Premessa" alle Storie dei popoli romani e germanici (1824), si snoda un percorso che consente di valutare non soltanto la sua visione dell'Europa moderna, ma anche quale orientamento egli ebbe come teorico e metodologo. Di particolare rilievo per la storia della cultura la prolusione per l'ordinariato del 1836 sui rapporti tra storiografia, arte e politica. Da segnalare la nuova traduzione di "Le Grandi Potenze" e "Dialogo Politico". La presentazione di Fulvio Tessitore e l'introduzione di Santi Di Bella informano sul significato filosofico e sul valore storico-politico dei testi, ripercorrendone la genesi compositiva

No full textIl contributo prende le mosse dai ruoli di pubblico e privato in sanità e dalla constatazione che, a seconda di come si associno gli attori coinvolti nella tutela della salute, i problemi e le prospettive cambino (privato “in concorrenza” o “in collaborazione” con il pubblico). Se l’osservazione del binomio pubblico-privato rimanda a tematiche maggiormente arate, l’estensione del ragionamento alla comunità, identificata principalmente con il privato sociale quale forma organizzata di comunità, apre la strada a una visione più sperimentale, candidandosi quale chiave di volta per affrontare le sfide della sanità moderna (in primis la territorialità e l’integrazione socio-sanitaria in un’ottica di presa in carico globale della persona). Assumendo il punto di osservazione del ruolo della comunità in sanità e concentrandosi sugli enti del Terzo settore, il contributo analizza le ragioni economiche, sociali e giuridiche per cui l’incidenza del c.d. “privato sociale” è destinata ad aumentare in ambito sanitario, concludendo che tale prospettiva imponga di approntare tutti gli strumenti (non solo giuridici) per favorire l’instaurazione di un reale ed equilibrato paradigma collaborativo.
The essay builds on the roles of public and private in health care and remarks that, depending on how the actors involved in health care are associated, the problems and perspectives change (private “competing” or “collaborating” with the public). If the observation of the public-private binomial refers back to well-known problems, the extension of the reasoning to the community, identified mainly with the private social sector as an organized form of community, paves the way to a more experimental vision, representing a key to addressing the challenges of modern health care (first and foremost territoriality and social-health integration with a view to comprehensive care of the person). Taking the point of observation of the role of the community in health care and focusing on Third Sector entities, the contribution analyzes the economic, social and legal reasons why the incidence of the so-called “private social sector” is increasing in health care, concluding that this perspective imposes the need to prepare all the tools (not only legal) to foster the establishment of a real and balanced collaborative paradigm

L’idea, ispirata dall’esperienza di quanto avviene in altre realtà, soprattutto al di fuori del nostro Paese, si fonda sulla necessità di collocare, nell’ambito di un percorso di ricerca sovente caratterizzato dalla ‘solitudine’ di chi lo intraprende, un momento di confronto dialettico all’interno della comunità scientifica; un momento in cui, cioè, la comunità stessa metta a disposizione del singolo le proprie eterogenee esperienze e conoscenze, di modo che questi possa conseguire un più proficuo sviluppo del suo lavoro, nell’ottica di un complessivo arricchimento reciproco. Factors affecting motorcyclists’ behavior in car-following condition
No full textCar-following (CF) maneuver plays an important role in both traffic flow analysis and road safety assessment. However, many studies on this issue have focused on the drivers’ behaviour, neglecting the different driving behaviour of the motorcycle riders and the vulnerability of this type of user. The aim of the present paper is to analyse the factors affecting the riders’ behaviour in CF condition, by using two surrogate safety indicators, Time Headway (TH) and Time To Collision (TTC). A field experiment was conducted to collect data. Twenty young motorcyclists participated in the study driving their own motorcycles, which were instrumented with a camera and a global positioning system device (GPS). A digital image processing algorithm was used to obtain CF related indicators. The results of the study showed that Time Headway (TH) and Time To Collision (TTC) are independent of each other, extending the result obtained in the literature for the four wheeled vehicles to the motorcycles. TTC and TH were therefore analyzed separately. As for TTC, it was observed that only in few cases (0.8%) the riders were found in risky condition (TTC < 5 s), confirming the role of this parameter for the detection of an impending risk. On the other hand, TH gives information about a potentially risky situation, and 99% of the riders were found in such condition (TH < 2 s). Due to the few cases in TTC risky conditions, only TH was further modelled by using the hazard-based duration analysis. Accelerated Failure Time (AFT) model specification was used, and the Weibull distribution provided the best fit of the data. The model identified four covariates affecting TH and all of them had the effect of reducing TH, increasing the collision risk. The time spent on CF condition, the speed of the motorcycle, the willingness of overtaking and the engine size of the motorcycle were the factors that reduced TH. The findings of this study could be considered in the development of microsimulation models; the factors that were found affecting the motorcyclists’ behavior in car-following condition could be considered for a more realistic simulation of the riders’ choice of Time Headway
