A study of the life history of Microphallus paragrapsi Smith 1983 (Trematoda : Microphallidae)
Metacercariae of the microphallid trematode Microphallus paragrapsi Smith 1983 were found in the nervous system of the smooth pebble crab Philyra laevis (Bell 1855). Sporocysts of M. paragrapsi were found in the hepatopancreas of the intertidal gastropod Assiminea brazieri (Tenison Woods 1876). Under laboratory conditions, cercariae were found to emerge from the snail host and invade the intertidal crab P, laevis, where they subsequently encysted within the nerves innervating the legs and claws. Adults of M. paragrapsi were found in the gut of the Pacific gull Larus pacificus (Latham 1801). The life history of M. paragrapsi is very similar to the life history of the related species Microphallus pachygrapsi Deblock & Prevot 1969
Bell Marginal Models for Longitudinal Count Outcomes
Correlated count responses are usually observed in clinical, economical and biological researches. The main assumption is to assume that a dependency structure exists between observations in the same experimental unit or cluster while no dependency exists between observation from different experimental units. Longitudinal count models are generally modelled through the use of generalized estimating equations firstly introduced by Liang and Zeger (1986) [1] (GEEs). Popular count marginal models are usually based on poisson and negative binomial distribution. In this study, a new marginal model is introduced and develop for longitudinal count responses based on bell distribution [2]. Bell distribution and its related regression model have been recently proposed by Castellares et al. [2] for count dataset. Although the bell distribution does not contain a dispersion parameter, it can model overdispersion. It indicates that this is more practical and useful than the negative binomial distribution. Real data application is presented to illustrate the new marginal model. The working covariance model selection method the “quasi-likelihood under the independence model criterion” (QIC) is utilized for the application [3]. The parameter estimations of the bell marginal model based on GEEs are obtained by geeM R package [4]. A 0.7-V 0.43-pJ/cycle Wakeup Timer based on a Bang-bang Digital-Intensive frequency-Locked-Loop for IoT Applications
A 40-nm CMOS wakeup timer employing a bang-bang digital-intensive frequency-locked loop for Internet-of-Things applications is presented. A self-biased ΣΔ digitally controlled oscillator (DCO) is locked to an RC time constant via a single-bit chopped comparator and a digital loop filter. Such highly digitized architecture fully exploits the advantages of advanced CMOS processes, thus enabling operation down to 0.7 V and a small area (0.07 mm 2 ). Most circuitry operates at 32× lower frequency than the DCO in order to reduce the total power consumption down to 181 nW. High frequency accuracy and a 10× enhancement of long-term stability is achieved by the adoption of chopping to reduce the effect of comparator offset and 1/f noise and by the use of ΣΔ modulation to improve the DCO resolution. The proposed timer achieves the best energy efficiency (0.43 pJ/cycle at 417 kHz) over prior art while keeping excellent on-par long-term stability (Allan deviation floor <;20 ppm) and temperature stability (106 ppm/°C).Accepted Author Manuscript(OLD)Applied Quantum Architecture

21 pages, Latex, no figuresWe address the classical and quantum marginal problems, namely the question of simultaneous realizability through a common probability density in phase space of a given set of compatible probability distributions. We consider only distributions authorized by quantum mechanics, i.e. those corresponding to complete commuting sets of observables. For four-dimensional phase space with position variables qi and momentum variables pj, we establish the two following points: i) given four compatible probabilities for (q1,q2), (q1,p2), (p1,q2) and (p1,p2), there does not always exist a positive phase space density rho({qi},{pj}) reproducing them as marginals; this settles a long standing conjecture; it is achieved by first deriving Bell-like inequalities in phase space which have their own theoretical and experimental interest. ii) given instead at most three compatible probabilities, there always exist an associated phase space density rho({qi},{pj}); the solution is not unique and its general form is worked out. A Versatile and Efficient 0.1-to-11 Gb/s CML Transmitter in 40-nm CMOS
We present a wireline transmitter (TX) for re-configurable chip-to-chip links. The proposed design features a frequency-adaptive clock chain, a fast 16:1 clocked-CMOS multiplexer (C2MOS MUX) tree, and a full-rate synchronous current-mode logic (CML) clock driver. A prototype realized in 40-nm CMOS accomplishes a wide 0.1-to-11 Gb/s operation range (fmax/fmin = 110×). At 11 Gb/s, the prototype achieves 3.98 pJ/bit for a bit error rate (BER) < 10-12 with a 60.9-ps eye width.Accepted author manuscriptElectronic
