SPHERE House Visualisation:Exhibition, MediaWall, Bath Spa University, Bath, UK
Exhibition Dates: November 28 - December 14 2016Venue: Media Wall, Bath Spa University, UKAs part of the EPSRC funding SPHERE project, Anthony Head was commissioned to explore a visualisation of a terraced house that was being used by the project to conduct experiments in data gathering. The visualisation was created to display the data generated by the house, in order to aid researchers and inform the public and other stakeholders about the project. Created over a period of a year the 3D House consisted of an interactive model of the two bedroomed house. After measuring the house and creating the 3D model, the work consisted of using a fixed set of data taken over a period of 30 minutes. Working with other researchers from Bristol University, Anthony used this data to create a series of integrated visualisations within the house. The result was a piece of software that could be used to verify the data created by the various sensors and give indications as to the location and activities of the house occupants. The work was delivered to Bristol University. An early version was shown at two public engagement events for SPHERE (Friends of Sphere and Children of the 90s). It was also shown for a data visualisation workshop held 9th November 2017 at Bath Spa University with SPHERE researchers. This final version was created for Bath Spa University's MediaWall, measuring 7.5m high. It was shown for the month of December 2017, enabling students, staff and visitors to be aware of the project.<br/

Marvellous Marble Machine:Exhibition, Media Wall, Bath Spa University, UK
Exhibition Dates: 18- 26 June 2015Venue: Media Wall, Bath Spa University, UKOn the 18th June 2015 Bath Spa University hosted the 5x5x5=creativity conference, Creative Revolution, with a keynote by Sir Ken Robinson. Over the two weeks up to that day, Bath School of Art and Design (BSAD) hosted a ‘School Without Walls’ series of workshops which enabled year 4 school children from St Andrews Primary School, Bath to take part in a variety of art school related experiences. For this, Anthony Head created a unique learning experience for children at a local school, St Andrew’s in Bath, along with many volunteers. The result was Marvellous Marble Machine: A giant autonomous marble run. Children gained insight into how computer games are made by planning the layout of a section of the marble run, selecting a theme, creating the graphical elements; including backgrounds, characters and objects. The machine itself is also features physics education as well as art, design and creativity, game design, covering ideas such as friction, balance, mass, acceleration, gravity and some ambient ‘marble run’ sounds

Artist Boss at Bath Spa [curator]
An exhibition at Bath School of Art & Design (6th Dec 2016- 20th Jan 2017) chronicles the Artist Boss project to bring together otherwise unseen footage of the artists’ studios, documentation of exhibition installation, and the final artworks themselves, to reveal a behind-the-scenes insight into the communities of art practices.
Invited former assistants will give talks at BSAD during the exhibition.
Artist Boss is a creative research project, which explores the relationship between artist and assistant. Initiated by Bath Spa University and Norwich University of the Arts, Artist Boss
