    ANALYSIS OF FACTORS FOR STUDENTS' VOCABULARY MASTERY IN ENGLISH AT SMPN 35 MAKASSAR

    The objective of the research was to find out the factors that influence the English vocabulary mastery of the second grade of SMPN 35 Makassar. This research method is descriptive quantitative research method. This research was conducted on the second-grade students of SMPN 35 Makassar. The sample in this study were 20 students in class VIII-1 for the 2023/2024 academic year. The researcher analyzed data from questionnaires which distributed to students using quantitative descriptive analysis with the percentage of information frequency divided by the number of samples. The finding reveals that there were two factors that influence to students' vocabulary mastery namely, internal factors and external factors. The Internal factors is the most dominant factors influencing to students' vocabulary mastery. These internal factors consist of two, namely students' motivation to learn vocabulary and students' self-confidence in learning vocabulary. External factors are factors that influence students from outside in mastering vocabulary. These external factors consist of the family environment and the school environment.     The objective of the research was to find out what barriers students’ experience in reading skill of second grade students’ of SMPN 35 Makassar. This research method was a descriptive quantitative with a likert scale design. This research conducted in two steps, namely observation and giving questionnaire. There were 15 statements with used percentage of data frequency to calculated the questionnaire. This research was conducted on second grade students of SMPN 35 Makassar. The samples of this research consisted of 20 students of class VIII-5 for the 2023/2024 academic year. Researcher analyzing data from questionnaires distributed to students.     THE USE OF GRAMMARLY IN INCREASING THE STUDENTS’ WRITING ABILITY : STUDY OF LITERATURE REVIEW

    Academic writing is an essential skill for students at the secondary and higher education levels. However, mastering writing skills, particularly in grammar and sentence structure, remains a major challenge for many students. Various technology-based applications, such as Grammarly, have been developed to support students' improvement in writing abilities, particularly in aspects of grammar, vocabulary, and sentence coherence. This study aims to review various literature that highlights the effectiveness of Grammarly in enhancing students' writing skills. The method used in this study is a literature review by collecting and analyzing previous research findings related to the role of Grammarly in writing education. The literature review results indicate that Grammarly can help students automatically identify and correct grammatical and stylistic errors, provide real-time feedback, and motivate them to be more meticulous in constructing sentences and paragraphs. Consistent use of Grammarly can improve students' writing skills, particularly in terms of grammatical accuracy and sentence structure. Additionally, this application aids vocabulary development through alternative word and phrase suggestions that are more formal or contextually appropriate for academic writing. However, this study also found some limitations, such as students’ dependency on the application, which may reduce their critical thinking skills and creativity in writing. It can be concluded that Grammarly can be an effective tool to support writing education, but its use should be accompanied by guidance from teachers or lecturers so that students can understand the reasons behind the corrections and the application of proper grammar.     THE EFFECT OF USING FONDI APPLICATION ON STUDENTS’ SPEAKING SKILL

    This study aims to analyze the effect of using Fondi application on students’ speaking skill at SMP Kemala Bhayangkari Makassar. The focus is on understanding how digital tools can influence language acquisition in a classroom setting. This research employed a quantitative method with a pre-test and post-test design. The subject of this study consist of 33 eight-grade students, whose speaking skill were assessed before and after using the Fondi application over a specified period. The results indicate a significant improvement in students’ speaking skill, with the average of pre-test score increasing from 48.18 to 82.42 in the post-test. These findings suggest taht the Fondi application is effective in enhancing students’ speaking skill and creating a more supportive learning environment

    PENGARUH MENGGUNAKAN APLIKASI “HELLO ENGLISH†TERHADAP PENGUCAPAN SISWA KELAS DELAPAN DI SMPN 1 SUMARORONG

    The objective of the research was to know the influence of using Hello English application to enhance students’ achievement of pronunciation in English. This research applied pre-experimental in one class pre-test and post-test. This research conducted at SMPN 1 Sumarorong. In this research the population was the eight students of SMPN 1 Sumarorong in 2020/2021 academic year. The researcher used total sampling technique. The total sample was 30 students from class VIII-D. In analyzing the numerical data, the writer used SPSS v. 16.0. Based on the results of data analysis, the writer concluded that the use of Hello English application can increase students’ pronunciation skill, it’s proved by the mean score of the students in pretest and post-tes. The result of the research shows that  Hello English application significantly increased students’ pronunciation ability after did treatment. The mean score improved from 42.33 in pre-test to 82.16 in post-test. It indicated that the one hypothesis (H1) was accepted and of course, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. It means that Hello English application could increase the students’ pronunciation ability in learning English at SMPN 1 Sumarorong.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui manfaat penggunaan aplikasi Hello English untuk meningkatkan prestasi pengucapan bahasa Inggris siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre-eksperimental dalam satu kelas pre-test dan post-test. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMPN 1 Sumarorong. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas delapan SMPN 1 Sumarorong tahun akademik 2020/2021. Peneliti menggunakan teknik total sampling dalam pengambilan sampel. Total sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 30 orang dari siswa kelas VIII-D. Dalam melakukan analisis data, peneliti menggunakan aplikasi SPSS v 16.0. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, penulis menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan aplikasi Hello English dapat meningkatkan keterampilan pengucapan siswa. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan nilai rata-rata siswa pada pretest dan post-tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan Hello English secara signifikan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa setelah dilakukan perlakuan. Skor rata-rata meningkat dari 42.33 pada pre-test menjadi 82.16 pada post-test. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa one hypothesis (H1) diterima dan tentunya null hypothesis (H0) ditolak. Artinya, penerapan Hello English dapat meningkatkan keterampilan pengucapan siswa dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di SMPN 1 Sumaroron

    Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran aplikasi pembelajaran pronundroid-IPA terhadap hasil belajar pengucapan dalam bahasa Inggris di kelas XI SMA Negeri 5 Makassar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan Pre-experimental dengan desain One Group Pre-test dan post-test. yaitu memberikan tes sebelum perawatan, kemudian memberikan tes setelah perawatan menggunakan pengucapan aplikasi pronundroid-IPA. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI 4 yang beranggotakan 5 siswa. Penelitian dilakukan dalam 29 kali pertemuan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik uji yang dianalisis dengan statistik deskriptif. Data yang diperoleh juga dianalisis menggunakan program SPSS versi 3.22. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran menggunakan aplikasi Pronundroid-IPA Pronundroid-IPA terhadap hasil belajar bahasa Inggris kelas XI siswa SMA Negeri 0 Makassar. Fakta ini dapat dilihat pada hasil analisis SPSS versi 5,4, nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siswa adalah 22,0. Dengan demikian, dapat dikatakan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif antara model pembelajaran yang menggunakan aplikasi pengucapan pronundroid-IPA pada hasil belajar siswa

    An Analysis of English Language Errors in Travel Brochures by students of SMKN 2 Maros

    This study looks at how students at SMKN 2 Maros see English language mistakes in travel brochures. Using a simple research method, data were gathered through a questionnaire with 20 questions, answered by 52 students from classes X DKV, X ULP, and XI ULP. The results showed that most students (55%) often notice language mistakes in travel brochures, which affects how they understand and view the content. Even though there are many mistakes, most students (61.54%) said they usually understand the meaning of the words in the brochures. This means that while mistakes are common, they do not completely stop students from understanding. However, these mistakes do affect how trustworthy and reliable the brochures seem to the readers. The study suggests that fixing the English in travel brochures could make them work better and be more appealing. By reducing language mistakes, brochures can do a better job of attracting and informing potential travellers. This research shows how important it is to have correct and clear language in promotional materials, highlighting the need for good editing and proofreading when making travel brochures

    The Impact of Using Gadget in Increasing Students' Reading Comprehension in Eleventh Grade at SMA Negeri 4 Makassar

    Nowadays, there are many schools, especially high schools, which allow their students bring gadget to school. Therefore, it is crusial for students to know how to use gadget as possible as they can as a helping tool especially to increase their academic skills including their reading comprehension in English lesson. The purpose of this study was to find out the use of gadget in increasing students’ reading comprehension in eleventh grade at SMA Negeri 4 Makassar in academic year 2023/2024. The sample of this study were 20 students from class XI-8. The method that was used in this study was a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design that use three steps, namely pre-test, treatment, and post-test. The findings revealed that there is an increase of students’ score in pre-test to post-test. The mean of students’ score in pre-test was 41,960 and post-test was 68,295. The t-tes was used SPSS 18 and the result is 0,000 (<0,50) which means that there is a significant difference between students’ score in pre-test to post-test. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of gadget can increase students’ reading comprehension in eleventh grade at SMA Negeri 4 Makassar

    IMPROVING STUDENTS’ LITERACY READING SKILL USING E-BOOK SYSTEM ON THE TWELVETH GRADE AT SMA BOSOWA SCHOOL MAKASSAR

    This study aimed to determine to improve students’ Literacy Reading skill Using E-Book System of twelveth grade students of SMA Bosowa School Makassar. This study used a pre-experimental method. The Subject of this study were students of twelveth grade SMA Bosowa School Makassar semester in the academic year 2023/2024, with a sample of 10 students. Data collection was reading text using E-Book System. The research data collected through the test showed that the student's reading ability after the research was conducted, students were more interested in using the E-Book System in reading English text. Based on the results of the data analysis, it can be seen that the student's results in the pre-test were 64.00. Then after getting treatment, the students' pre-test scores increased to 85.55 in the post-test. It can be concluded that students' reading skills are improved on the students’. So it can be concluded that using the E-Book System  can improve students' learning ability in reading English texts at SMA Bosowa School Makassar Â

    ENHANCING STUDENTS’ WRITING ABILITY THROUGH BLENDED LEARNING AT SMA NEGERI 4 MAKASSAR

    This study aimed to determine to enchance the students’ ability in writing narrative text through blended learning of class Xl-5 students of SMAN 4 Makassar in writing narrative texts using the blended learning method. This study used a pre-experimental method. The Subject of this study were students of class Xl-5 at SMAN 4 Makassars emester in the academic year 2022/2023, with a sample of 34 students. Data collection was narrative text through offline and online. The research data collected through the test showed that the student's writing ability after the research was conducted, students were more interested in using the blended learning method in writing narrative texts. Based on the results of the data analysis, it can be seen that the student's results in the offline pre-test were 49.03. Then after getting treatment, the students' pre-test scores increased to 79.47 in the post-test. While the students' results in the online pre-test were 52.18, and after getting treatment, the students' pre-test scoreincreased to 89.15 in the post-test. It can be concluded that students' writing skills are improved in the online learning.So it can be concluded that using the blended learning method can improve students' learning ability in writing narrative texts at SMAN 4 Makassar
