Problems of translation Milos Macourek's fairy-tales into Polish
Summery This thesis deals with the issue of translation Milos Macourek's fairy tales into Polish. The starting point for the analysis is a comparison of two versions of a translation of selected texts. The author of the first one is Marie Erhardtowa, the second version is translated by Herman Grzeszczyk and Andrzej Kulikowski. The first part of the thesis is a theoretical preparation which explains the basic questions of literary translation. The main goal of the practical part of this thesis is to determine the target groups of readers, followed by an analysis of the particular translation issues. The conclusion contains a summary of findings and an assessment of individual translation in terms of adequacy
Integration and Laplace Transformation of Orthogonal Series
Title: Integration and Laplace Transformation of Orthogonal Series, Author: Milos Novotny, Location: ThodeIn the first part of this thesis the basic
properties of classical orthogonal polynomials are derived from a unified
theory. Then sufficient conditions for term-by-term integration and
Laplace transformation of Fourier expansions in terms of an orthogonal
system with respect to a weight function on a bounded or unbounded interval
are given, and successively applied to Fourier expansions in terms of the
trigonometric system, the classical orthogonal polynomials, the Haar system
and eigenfunction expansions for ordinary linear differential equations with
boundary conditions on both ends of a compact interval as well as in limit
point and limit circle cases for an infinite interval. Finally a necessary
and sufficient condition for representation of a complex function as a
Laplace interval of f ε L(0,2π) with period 2π is proved.ThesisDoctor of Philosophy (PhD

Historical fiction and post-modernism. View of the older Czech history in the works of Milos Urban
(in English) The aim of this work is especially the post-modern art, its symbols and manifestations. The main area of this research is post-modern literature and effort to concretise post-modern symbols in literature. This work is also trying show the influence of post-modern on historiographical approach. The solution of this work goes from general manifestations of post-modern to particular manifestation in post-modern literature. The main source represented the set of monographs about this theme. The significantly part is about publications of Czech author Milos Urban, and especially the interview of author this thesis with him. On the particular symbols was able to improved, that Milos Urban really writing literature with influence of post-modernism. The post-modern symbols in literature and also the influence of post-modern on historiography were managed to described and instanced
Bourgeois Balkans: world-building in Belgrade and Sofia 1830-1912
This dissertation examines the transformation of urban life in the Balkan capitals of Belgrade and Sofia between 1830 and 1912. In the nineteenth century, mayors, planners, doctors and intellectuals envisioned a new, urban society in which progressive social transformation could emerge through a combination of political and economic institutions based on expertise. I explore the ambitions and limits of this “bourgeois world-building” through three constitutive processes: the production of space, the gendered transformation of intimate labor, and the re-calibration of state violence. With the advent of autonomous rule, the Balkan capitals were reconstructed as “European” cities through dispossession, real-estate speculation and municipal corruption. For architects, merchant capitalists, and municipal officials, the post-Ottoman city appeared as a landscape of accumulation, a vision often frustrated by its failure to materialize in full. Medical professionals and police officials envisioned the city as a space of managed, commodified intimacy, yet found limits in expanding institutional control over sex workers, domestic servants, and other working women. Activists and state actors were likewise frustrated in their attempts to create productive urban subjects through scientific policing and prison labor. Ultimately, the application of bourgeois visions was both intensive and costly, limited by the scope of elite ambitions and the struggle of those who were excluded from them.Submission published under a 24 month embargo labeled 'Closed Access', the embargo will last until 2018-12-01The student, Milos Jovanovic, accepted the attached license on 2016-12-02 at 13:57.The student, Milos Jovanovic, submitted this Dissertation for approval on 2016-12-02 at 13:58.This Dissertation was approved for publication on 2016-12-02 at 14:26.DSpace SAF Submission Ingestion Package generated from Vireo submission #10419 on 2017-02-28 at 14:43:05Made available in DSpace on 2017-03-01T17:02:01Z (GMT). Geothermal research in Milos island - Evaluation of drilling data
The subject of this dissertation is a comprehensive literature review of the geothermal research, which has been carried out on the island of Milos (geophysical survey and drilling) until today, and the evaluation of some the drilling data available. The purpose of this latter part of the dissertation is to help create a data platform, which can be exploited to design new geothermal wells in the island, since the systematic and rational development of the island’s geothermal resources is imperative. In the first part of this dissertation, Chapters 1 through Chapter 3, the concept of geothermal energy in general explained and the case of Milos island is presented in more detail. In the second part of the dissertation, Chapters 4 and 5, an extensive reference is made to the geophysical and drilling survey that has been performed so far in Milos. In Chapter 5 the technique of drilling geothermal wells (drilling fluids, casing, cementing, and problems) is presented. The third and last part of the dissertation, Chapters 6 and 7, the method for the evaluation of drilling data is presented in general, and the following parameters for the geothermal well M1 are determined: geomechanical parameters (exponents d and dmod, formation pressure, Pf), specific energy (SE) and drillability (K). Finally, the basic conclusions of this dissertation are summarized in Chapter 8.Βασίλειος Α. Καμακάρη
Serbia at the time of Prince Milos (Ethnosociological treatises of Tihomir Djordjevic)
The work of Tihomir Djordjevic contributes to the establishment and development of ethnosociology among the Serbs and enables a better insight into the traditional basis of Serbian society (during the rule of Prince Milos). Therefore, the visionary views of T. Djordjevic represent a cultural heritage and a rich material for the study of the form of social community of the Serbs in the past and its developmental circumstances. Studying the folk life, he indirectly studied the condition and social relations in the traditional peasant society, not neglecting the emerging of the young Serbian bourgeois society. The basic characteristic of Djordjevic?s initial vision of the Serbian society, that is the specification of "turmoil" as the basic feature of Serbia two hundred years ago, is also characteristic for the spiritual climate in our country at the beginning of this century.</jats:p
Photoelectric Detection and Quantum Readout of Nitrogen‐Vacancy Center Spin States in Diamond
A novel method for reading out the electron spin state of the negatively charged nitrogen-vacancy (NV) point defect in diamond, based on photoelectric detection of NV magnetic resonances (PDMR), is reviewed. As a convenient way to measure the spin state of qubits, the presented technique is anticipated to lead to a vast range of applications in the field of quantum technologies. It has been demonstrated that this method can be used both in continuous-wave mode and for the pulse readout of coherently manipulated NV- spins. The PDMR technique presents interesting advantages over the commonly used optical detection of magnetic resonances (ODMR) and was recently downscaled to the reading out of a single NV- spin qubit. The principles, current developments, advantages, and drawbacks of PDMR are presented in this progress report. A complete to-date methodology of NV photoelectric readout is described and PDMR is compared to ODMR. Future developments and possible improvements of the technique are mentioned. The results of the latest studies, aiming at overcoming limitations in the PDMR contrast through a better understanding of NV photo-physics and of charge exchanges between NV centers and other electrically active defects, are discussed. This work was supported by the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic (project number 16-16336S), the FWO project DIAQUANT (S004018N), the FWO project G0E7417N, the QUANTERA project Q-Magine (R-8843), and the EU project ASTERIQS (820394). Organized Civil Society from the Perspective of Vaclav Havel, Vaclav Klaus and Milos Zeman.
The aim of this thesis is to compare the concept of the civil society and the attitudes towards it, as understood by Vaclav Havel, Vaclav Klaus and Milos Zeman. Furthermore, the thesis examines the evolutions of their attitudes and their particular actions within the organized civil society. The comparison is carried out using available materials and relevant existing works by authors expertizing in the authors' political legacy. The first part introduces basic terms and three crucial phases in the development of Czech civil society. The second part critically analyses the authors' attitude to organized civil society. Comparison findings suggest that their concept of civil society does not concur: their attitude to influential organizations of civil society varies, yet a certain agreement is apparent in their support of voluntary activities of various interest groups
On the «Migrations» of Milos Crnjanski
At the space-time the unchangeable human thirst for psycho-spiritual progress, as well as his perpetual movements are not always an admirable constituent of essential self-acting and self-directed targeting. The strong motives embodied by unhindered promiscuity with operators of miscellaneous origin and the constructive combination of cultural experiences are often undermined by orchestrated socio-political developments. Ethnic groups, with limited foundations in the geostrategic palimpsest, suffer the tragic consequences of ambitious imperialistic plans.Indeed the dignified Serbian nation lives over time an extremely outright marginalization and shameless victimization. In the earth-shattering changes that occur in the fluid European mosaic the Serbians often appear weak to identify autonomously their own evolutionary course. The painful escape emerges as redemption and inevitably the violent eradication from the birthday land preceds. In spite of the authentic historical themes the novel «Migrations» (1929) of postmodern author Milos Crnjanski interspersed with autobiographical data is distinguished for his existential orientation perspective: the agonized search for the inner «Promised land» leads teleologically to the potential disengagement from mental dilemmas or even to the ruthless dimensions of metaphysical nihilism; the family relationships with their volatile balance and the transcendent erotic triangle of the fallen protagonists portend the unsolicited Nemesis; the rude deprecation of human existence in the bloodthirsty trenches highlights the attractive world of illusions.Including «sumatraistic» axioms the cosmopolitan creation with its annular composition invites the readers to redefine their moral background. They must disrupt the borderline between the conscious awareness that is achievable by sustained, endogenous or exogenous movements and the subconscious stagnation that disorders the intended archetypal clearance
