Managing knowledge for future-proof tunnels in The Netherlands
No full textThe COB is The Netherlands Knowledge Centre for Underground Construction and Underground Space. Over sixty organisations, from government, industry and knowledge institutes, work together to learn and develop smart solutions regarding tunnels. This network has developed a long-term vision on tunnels in The Netherlands. As a result, nineteen tunnels and all stakeholders collaborate on eight research topics of our tunnel programme. We found common ground and the key issues are already being addressed in both practice and science. Topics include risks, construction failure, modular renovation, digital tunnel twin, virtual testing, virtual education and system safety. No full textNesta pesquisa apresento uma evolução histórica do conceito e dos modelos de Educação Infantil até os dias atuais e busco compreender o desenvolvimento infantil e os processos interativos dos bebês por meio das brincadeiras bem como suas contribuições para a aprendizagem e desenvolvimento dos mesmos. Abordo ainda a questão do brincar na educação infantil e acentuo a dificuldade de conceituar a brincadeira diante das inúmeras interpretações que se pode dar ao tema nosdiversos contextos e culturas. Os resultados da pesquisa são apresentados através das reflexões sobre o plano de ação desenvolvido com crianças de berçário da Unidade Municipal de Educação Infantil Padre Tarcisio

No primeiro caso, estudamos a classificação de quase solitons gradientes de Ricci do tipo M = (\mathbb{R}^{n}, \Bar{g}) \times_{f} (F^{m}, g_{F}), onde a base \Bar{g} = \frac{1}{\varphi^{2}}g é invariante pela ação de um grupo de translação e a fibra é uma variedade semi-Riemanniana de Einstein. Em seguida, trabalhamos com a caracterização de quase solitons gradientes de Ricci conformemente \textit{flat} invariantes pela ação de um grupo de translação ou rotação. No full textAccording to common wisdom, mergers between complementary-goods firms should not raise anti-competitive concerns. Regulatory authorities rarely challenge them indeed. In this paper, I offer an alternative perspective in a model of price-competition in a complementary oligopoly industry with differentiated goods. The sign of the change in the consumer surplus, after the merger between the quality leaders of the respective complementary goods, depends however upon the consumers' valuation distribution over these products. A family of elliptic-arc distributions, parameterized by the elliptic small semi-axis, is used to derive the result.Fusões entre firmas de bens complementares, conforme o senso comum, não causam preocupações anticoncorrenciais. Assim, as autoridades de defesa da concorrência não costumam questioná-las. No full textThis paper focuses on the settlement analysis of immersed tunnel on soft ground. Even under careful design, immersed tunnel may have problems of excessive settlement and the resulting concrete cracking or structure leakage during operation period. Yongjiang Tunnel, the first immersed tunnel on soft ground in mainland China, is taken as a case study. The monitored settlement data after a 16-year service is first displayed and analyzed, then a 2D numerical model is built to simulate the ground settlement deformation from tunnel construction to long-term tunnel operation. Investigation of the remaining life of an immersed tube tunnel in The Netherlands
No full textIn this paper we present issues related to the performance of immersed tube tunnels in the Netherlands. A range of issues are experienced for the ageing structures including long-term settlement at tunnel joints and consequent leakage. Because of the age of these structures some important aspects are often unknown thus creating uncertainty regarding remediation measures. Having discussed general issues the paper presents a case study of the Kil Tunnel which has experienced relatively large settlements over the past 40 years. In this case a lack of geotechnical engineering information for the soils below the tunnel was identified.
