He talks about his family’s background in coal mining and with the Montana Democratic Party. Barrett highlights his own experiences with state and national politics starting in the 1970s through the Constitutional Convention (the Con-Con), and as Democratic National Committee Man. Barrett details his work running specific Democratic Party campaigns and relationships with the candidates, including Senators Lee Metcalf, Pat Williams, John Melcher, Conrad Burns, and Max Baucus.
